If you look at the Hasbro library of characters, there are some that are incredibly beloved and these are examples of that," Wahlberg offered. "They're natural candidates to bring into our new-look version of the franchise. They fans are crazy for these guys. They've had a lot of attention historically so we knew that whenever we brought them in it would be met with a huge reaction. The way the Dinobots come to life is spectacular. They're not the easiest bunch to control, either. It's pretty awesome how they evolved, how they took the form of those dinosaurs. Then to see what Optimus has to do to get them to comply and save humanity, it's pretty incredible. They have everything (when asked if they have weapons from the cartoons and comics). Everything you can imagine. They're giant dinosaurs that are also robots... What's not to love about that?
And they run around blowing shit up, just generally being crazy. I think if there's anybody in the world who can bring robot dinosaurs to life and can make them incredibly cool, it's Michael Bay. I think [audiences'] minds are going to be blown when they see them on the screen.

Hasbro already said that all of the Dinobots would be transforming in the movie back before Toy Fair started. The Thuggernaut wrote:I hope when he says "giant dinosaurs who are also robots" he means giant robot dinosaurs that TRANSFORM into humanoid robots and not just giant robot dinosaurs.

Today I found Grimlock in Walmart and decided to give him a chance. They also had Leader class Grimlock, but his dino mode looks stiff and horrible so I chose the voyager. I plan on using these Dinobots in my classics collection as charecters from another world. In my Mind Michael Bay has already been smashed in the jaw with a sledgehammer. But I'm liking these Dinobots for what they are. I like the bright colors. Those Takara G1 colored versions are like putting lipstick on a pig. But as original characters, these figures are pretty cool. Ill pass on the rest of the AOE stuff though. Maybe Ill buy G1 AOE Prime just for kicks.

I hate this movie already. The movie just looked really bad on the big screen.

The scene they show where Prime and Grimlock stand off and Prime lets out this ridiculous battle roar and punches Grimmy in the face as he's charging at him. This punch sends Grimmy flying! It's so upsetting to me. Grimlock shouldn't be leveled from a single punch to the face. ESPECIALLY in dino mode.

That wasn't a punch. Optimus used Grimlock's momentum and shield bashed him right in the face.

You're looking for realism in a movie about alien robots that turn into vehicles? And your problem is the alien robots that turn into dinosaurs aren't dinosaur-ey enough?

Yes exactly. Make some point to your comment please.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around your logic. Complaining that the movie(that hasn't even come out yet) is unrealistic because the alien robots don't look enough like dinosaurs is like saying the Batman movies are unrealistic because the Batsuit doesn't look like a real bat.

Punch or no punch, it is still ridiculous that a bot who is so much smaller (even if it is Optimus Prime) can easily swat away a supposedly much bigger and more powerful character. It doesn't make me hate the movie, but when the 1st time I saw it I just scoffed and chalked it up to yet another thing Bay and the writer(s) screwed up. Things like this are what make the movieverse inferior to most other continuities story and character development-wise.

I agree. Also....."hate" of course is too strong of a word. Lets just say i'm disappointed.
