In my opinion so far regarding TF games:
Best single player: Transformers PS2 (Armada)
Best movie driven plotline: Transformers the Game (only because it follows closer than RoTF the game does)
Best multiplayer experience: Revenge of The Fallen the Game
Best overall TF game so far: Revenge of The Fallen the Game
But it definitely looks like WFC will outdo all of them.

Varia31 wrote:*whistles* I can't believe I'm saying this, but this looks like it'll outdo RoTF's multiplayer, which is a great multiplayer game as well. This game looks to be the defining TF game we've always wanted, can't wait.

I notice the distinct lack of Awakening.

Alot of the G1 characters.
Omega Supreme, yes, Omega FREAKIN Supreme!
A mature storyline that is interesting.
2 single player campaigns that sound fun.
Peter Cullen voicing the big OP.
Gorgeous graphics and gameplay.
A BADASS multiplayer mode that is reminiscent of Team Fortress 2.
You can customize your very own Transformer.
Just gonna go ahead and throw this out there now, BEST.GAME.EVER.

You stole what I was gonna say, dude! I agree. And yes, I thought Ultra Magnus too when I saw white OP. I thought of War Within UM when I saw him too.

Yeah, sorry, I don't own, nor have I played Awakening. It does look good though.

I'm pretty sure Awakening would NOT be first in any of your categories.

You may have a point, I'm not big on RPGs or even mobile games for that matter. To me, it's always been:
Console games > portable games > mobile games
I've always preferred console games, and the only portables I ever play anymore are the Metroids I have, nothing else. I've never really liked mobile games.

Authentic Hasbro Style!
However, I've noticed that, or rather it seems to me that one of the base models for one of the robots was that of Jazz. Does that mean Jazz will make an appearance afterall in the main storyline? If so, totally sweet! Now just bring on Grimlock!
Definitely looked like Jazz. Grimlock would/will be great. Guess he'll be leader class.
The trailer itself-
My earlier fears are somewhat assuaged. It looks like this has been developed as a single-player game and a multiplayer game, as opposed to one with the other mode being adapted from it. I really hope so anyway. It definitely looks like the multiplayer aspect is one that has been well-planned out. Strange that it's taken this long for any real details to come out about it though, and that was part of what bothered me.
I like the idea of classes, I hope for a little bit more customisation, maybe the option to add some decals or different paint apps, not just making everything one uniform colour. The white Prime looked like it had blue hands at least, so seems likely. Weapon upgrades and alterations should be good too.
Nice if there are a few different models and alt modes available to each class, hopefully not all pre-order exclusives. Speaking of which, anyone heard of any pre-order incentives for the UK? Preferably in Game, Gamestation or HMV, as Amazon was too slow last time I pre-ordered a new release game.

If the preview is true to the experience, it appears exactly like a Team Fortress clone, in that there is a heavy/soldier, medic/scientist, ???/leader, spy/scout. The abilities vary, which is cool, but theres still that similar class design. I think its great and its going to be alot of fun to play thru a few of those classes and try different strats and tactics with the whole 3rd person view and vehicle mode factors added in.
As far as the one uniform color thing and decals, i would'nt hold my breath. Remember, this is hasbro and the last thing Full Moon and Hasbro want in a game like this is a Pepsi advertisement(as it would be out of place anyhow). Also, i doubt you'll see any of the maximal or predacon symbols because the story takes place long before all that ever happened.
I don't know how in-depth the coloring will be. I don't think you're going to see the kind of customization you would find in an Armored Core game, but i think there is going to be enough there to make like-colored teams for clans and etc.

Yeah, online games and your own graphics don't really go well together. I remember that from trying out a Smackdown Vs Raw game a few years back. Shame. Wouldn't expect Maximal or Predacon logos either, I agree. It'd be weird. Then again, those are the sort of logos that Hasbro might allow in, since they already own them. I'd pee my pants if I saw a Cobra logo, or anything vaguely resembling anything from Visionaries (I'm just talking in general now, not even in the game, it's like Hasbro forgot the IP exists).
Definitely never expected Armoured Core style customisation, but different models for each class might be nice (2-3 each or so). Wouldn't expect parts to cross from one model to another, but we could get a couple of different toy sculpts for each class.
Decals-wise, I was thinking about movie-BB/Jazz racing stripes, or Hot Rod/Tracks flames, that kind of thing.

vegetacron wrote:Visionaries. Wow. I totally forgot about them and i had 2-3 of'm when i was a kid. I wonder if that IP is worth getting a revival or if power rangers kinda killed it for'm.
Visionaries was very different than Power Rangers. One of the very recent toy mags, Lee's or Tomart, had a section on Visionaries toys.
Anyway, this looks encouraging, but if there is not a lot of cool customization factor, than it will most likely suck. Need to play to really tell though.

Just because it's a class-based system does not make it a Team Fortress clone.

Its not a bad thing. I think its pretty awesome. And mostly all games out now a days is a clone or uses 75% of whats already done by other games anyhow in terms of gameplay. The wrong idea here is thinking TF:WF is unoriginal. It is its own game by far. All i'm saying is that it borrows well known game elements from other games. Once again, not a bad thing. There are lots of high selling games out there that do the same thing.
Either way, i just freakin excited and i can't wait to play it. lol

vegetacron wrote:Ok, yeah, i was wrong. They're more like teletubbies with the whole screen/monitor thing on their chest. Wow, kickass teletubbies....yeah, it'd prolly suck, but i'd watch it. lol
You're never wrong, so to speak, everyone can have there opinion. I just did not see them as Power Rangers so much...Just another kind of superhero/powered up person.
The lack of individual vehicles that combine to form a robot, and mindless bad guy minions that all look the same, swayed my opinion.
