The Amazon exclusive 2-pack (subtitled 'Battle Across Time') of Grimlock and Mirage has been revealed! What's more, it's also up for preorder at Amazon, with a limited number of sets available at Hasbro Pulse (where Pulse Premium members have first access).
Grimlock is a new head retool and complete redeco of Kingdom Dinobot, paying homage to Grimlock's Beast Wars toy being a redeco of Dinobot. As such, he's listed as 'Maximal Grimlock.
Mirage is a retool of his Siege figure into an Earth-mode racecar, featuring the same head, unlike his previous Amazon exclusive figure, which featured a more G1 toy accurate head.
Read on for the official press release from Hasbro, as well as official pictures of the duo (and see if you notice how we may be getting a certain figure).

Must have been written pre pricing change as both Amazon and Pulse have it at $52.99 at the moment.
Which seems better than the Shattered Glass Megs jump.

Appart that, Mirage is a big "meh" for me and that BW Grimlock look weird. I know it have nothing to do with the original, but I would have much prefered a repaint/retool of Beast Megatron for Grimlock.

I really like Grimlock & I might get him loose off ebay. I definitely don't need another Mirage, I have all of the Siege versions.
Razorbeast88 wrote:That's so unfortunate you had that experience with Amazon. I haven't had any problems so far, though the only exclusive I've ordered was Barricade with P-CP.
I ordered 2 Ratchet/Lifeline sets back in November & they never shipped them. They finally canceled the order a week or two ago. I ended up buying Lifeline off ebay & Wolfman Jake from this forum hooked me up with Ratchet. That guy is AWESOME! I thought I was only getting a loose Ratchet but he sent everything minus Lifeline, I got the original box, instructions & plastic blister. I was fricken over the Moon!
And they didn't ship my Dirge/Ramjet set in a bigger shipping box. They just slapped the shipping labels right on the actual item. Took me an hour to remove the stickers & glue residue with a hair dryer & Goo-Gone. I called them about it & they gave me a partial refund, almost half price. So it worked out ok in the end.
Razorbeast88 wrote:As far as the YouTube channel, best of luck! Public speaking can be pretty difficult but maybe writing down what you want to say or bullet points of the things you want to say can help organize your thoughts. From there it's just rehearse rehearse rehearse! Memorization helps as well. From there you can record yourself with multiple takes to slowly practice taking out any awkard pauses or stop yourself from saying words like "um" or "like" too often. Its frustrating now but you'll get the hang of it! Can't wait to check it out
Thanks for the support. I just need to keep practicing. My biggest problem are reviews because everybody else have been doing reviews for years. It feels like a waste of time & I want to do something different than everybody else. I don't want to simply copy. I'm probably not going to do reviews & just do comparisons & little customs tweaks.
I'm going to start with short customizing tutorials for beginners. I have about 25 planned so far.

The red on the Dino head is just lighting.
The Dalmatian spots are there, though confined to the gray area on his raptor back. you can just barely make out the black spots there in some pictures.
I'm on the fence. Don't know if I want this set. I already have Dinobot, and not sure I want Mirage that much even if he is a considerable retool from Siege.... Decisions... decisions.

And I'm not the biggest fan of that character to begin with.
I could probably be swayed, but we'll see. I'd probably be completely okay with him if he was being sold with ER Sideswipe.
I like Tracks enough, but yeah, the feet being connected to the legs they way they are... Ugh.
I will say I think the face and head sculpts look really good. Even if they don't give me much of a cartoon vibe.
I think the other aspect that's a bit disappointing for me is that I always thought he was relatively tall, and this version looks a bit too short.
I have him preordered through Target... I'll probably stick with it, but there's definitely enough time to cancel.

But I did just drop $50 on a Grimlock already this year, and the line of budget limitations has to be drawn somewhere... I'll have to wait a bit.
In other news, Waspinator confirmed...?
I think Deluxe Class Waspinator was confirmed several months ago, when almost the entire Kingdom retail line-up was leaked by store inventory listings. He's expected in Wave 4, along with Slammer, Pipes, and Shadow Panther. There will be a Voyager Class Tigatron with a repack of Earthrise Starscream in Wave 4 as well.

Ah. I knew about Tigatron and the others, but wasn't sure about Waspinator. Hopefully we'll see some more reveals soon, as there's another Hasbro fan-fest coming up.

And another retool into Hardhead.
It's a good mold, and I like Grimlock, he looks good even if the paint scheme isn't correct.
Not sure on Mirage, I don't need a 3rd from that mold of the same character, but I hate breaking sets
Posted by o.supreme on May 11th, 2021 @ 8:00pm CDT
I recognize this was the case in Siege with the Decepticon Phantomstrike set, and the Autobot Alphastrike Counterforce.
This newly revealed "Battle Across Time" seems to be version 3.0 of this specific type of release (2 specific releases that make a single collage) as opposed to the Galactic Odyssey sets. I'm sure we will probably get something more akin to them later in the year.
Here is a direct quote from the earlier rumor:
Two Amazon multipacks coming in 2021, Earth Mode Sideswipe (retool) + Beast Wars Grimlock (voyager BW Dinobot redeco) and Earth Mode Mirage (same mold, new deco) + Beast Wars II Skywarp (the eagle figure that was part of Magnaboss but it doesn't combine)
So either they got it mixed up, or a last minute change, but you can pretty clearly see Skywarp's feather's on the packaging for the revealed set. I guess we can assume he will come with an earthmode Sideswipe?
I do find it interesting that there will be two sets, all with heroic characters, fighting a fictional battle with Cons/Preds from the mainline. The difference here is one Maximal, and one Autobot per set, as opposed to one set with good characters, and the other with evil.

Nemesis Reformatted wrote:Tracks is the perfect example of pointless & unnecessary changes they made to the cartoon. His original toy version looked like a badass ninja. Kinda like a male version of Nightbird. With the huge ninja craze of the 80's I'm surprised they didn't market him that way. He could have easily been the Transformers equivalent of Snake Eyes.
The ninja craze of the 80s wouldn't happen for a couple more years. Even Snake-eyes was officially a "commando" and not really embracing the whole ninja thing until '85 (3 years after his first figure was released), the same year Tracks was released, and he still wouldn't be outright called a Ninja until . Ninja were mostly considered evil until the Ninja Turtles became big in '87 hence why Stormshadow was a ninja but Snake-eyes was a Commando that trained in ninjutsu, even by '93's Ninja Force he was changed to "Covert Mission Specialist", but not a ninja! '84/'85 Hasbro was never going to consider a heroic Autobot ninja and that's barely changed even today.
Sabrblade wrote:They... They de-Dalmatian-ed Grimlock's deco.
I'm a little upset by this. They used a lot of paint unnecessarily to give him what I would call a much worse result. They should have done the entire figure in white and gold plastic then used gold paint to clean up the legs (I HATE how the legs and feet are half colored now) and black/deep blue to paint the markings and bot head.
This figure is basically RID "Dinobot" Grimlock's color layout (the color breakup in the dino and bot arms) in BW Grimlock's colors.
Still buying it, but man, so much wasted potential.

That's probably just representing the Earthrise Starscream repack in the mainline, since Dinobot and Waspinator (both mainline releases) are also on the box in similar prominence.

Damn... If old Roddy isn't looking better every time I see him. Had I not already pre-ordered him, I'd be rushing to BBTS or Amazon to do just that with these pics.
The comparison with Prime there, mean s this thing even though at commander class price point will be smaller than PotP Rodimus in vehicle mode.
Hopefully the engineering and accessories make up that price difference.

Next up is a set showing off an nice pose with both his weapons, and his hand articulation, and its ability to point individual fingers.
And last, but not least, we have a fantastic comparison shot, showing him next to his predecessor, Optimus Prime, showing that he is indeed larger than Optimus.
So what are your thoughts? Is he already on your preorder list? If he's not, do these photos do anything to change that? Let us know what you think below!

The fact he can store the sword under his Cybertronian crossover mode means all his weapons can be stored without needing his winnebago around, or if it's in Battle platform mode.
Anyway, can't wait for him to be released so I can add him to by siggy pic.
Have not updated it with SS86 Roddy for that very reason.

Highly doubtful.
The Commander Class keeps getting weaker with every new release. I'm sure Hasbro is trying to figure out a way to squeeze Bumblebee into the Commander Class.

Making some comparison's, Rodimus is about MP-28's height which is taller, than PotP's Hot Rod. Also the only other Commander class figure in this type of Commander Class we have to compare to is Jetfire which is fairly simple in engineering even if it does include a ton of accessories.
I think most of the price is going into his transformation, the legs alone look like they do a lot to compress into his vehicle mode and the trailer is still a big honking piece of plastic there.
Posted by o.supreme on May 12th, 2021 @ 12:59pm CDT
If anything however, it makes ER Optimus' hands look too tiny. I guess it is almost inevitable now that we will get an "Even More Accurate" Prime in CC within the next year or two. I personally don't want it, and don't really see how it is possible (ER is fine for me), but Hasbro will do it somehow... Beefing up mostly the trailer, but his body slightly also.
