I wonder if she's mistransformed here, the photographer deliberately fan-moded or her official bot mode has her kibble left down. Either way, when I get her, I'll probably fold all her kibble up like I do with Firestar. It'll depend on how she and Moonracer look together, I guess, since I leave Moonracer's down as a sort of long coat effect.

Looks that way. The flat kibble pieces are shaped differently as well and there's no ports on the arms anymore. It also looks like the main part of the torso is different too.

Lancer has the most pronounced “skirt” on her character model, so it makes sense for Hasbro to focus on that to give her a more distinct silhouette from the rest of her teammates.
The only retooled parts are the forearms and head. The torso looks identical. And you can fold down Moonracer's and Novastar's back flaps the same way.
The only thing that would be really cool is if they retool the back flap so it can fold out to become wider.

Actually the head, torso, feet, lower legs and forearms are all retooled.

Man I'd give a kidney for a more Dreamwave-esque Fallen, dark paintjob with glowing furnace orange and angry Mazinger-esque face. After ROTF this kind of design went by the wayside, with the 'Megatronus' identity taking over and the flaming design being forgotten
Stick those effect parts on a Siege Megatron retool and we're good to go.

Why not Combiner Wars Megatron? He's bigger and the Fallen was huge in Dreamwave IIRC

The Arcee mold can't combine, while this one can. At this point it's clear they're trying to complete this team specfically as a combiner (aside from Chromia), so it makes sense they're gonna reuse this mold instead of one that can't combine.

Because The Fallen is supposed to be scary, and CW Megs looks more like he should be leading an expedition into the Congo.

Point of clarity: Those animation models are 100% fanmade. While the robot mode is based on (but not completely identical to) the one she had in the episode, the vehicle mode is purely made up.

Additional point of clarity: Somebody ganked my character model of Greenlight from my DeviantArt account without bothering to ask my permission. That's just how we do things in this fandom, I guess.

I've never misrepresented this artwork as official, but it's difficult to play damage control when people appropriate my artwork so that it can be taken entirely out of context.
I did try to research her design exhaustively and try to make the model as authentic as possible, but I apologize if it's not accurate enough to your liking.

Report it to the mods. For what it's worth, you did a good job on the extrapolation. I don't think she was shown transforming in the episode, but that looks like the kind of altmode Floron the Moron would have given her, right down to being angular while her robot mode is curvy.
Nice going people on stealing fanart and presenting it as official. Real nice.
Although, on that note, it's possible Hasbro themselves used that art for reference given their f***up with the Combiner Wars G2 Stunticons.

I very much doubt it since the sculpt and alt mode don't look like anything directly from the fan art and the color layout and head sculpt is still accurate to her cartoon appearance.

Well, the altmode is limited by using Moonracer's mold with minimal retooling.
And I was more ruminating on the possibility, since Hasbro has pulled that for.
I still think it's a shame that Dazzlestrike is black instead of orange. Orange would go with the fire and make up for the actual Lionizer being the wrong color:
Speaking of Lionizer, anyone done Cybertron Smokescreen holding him, since that's the closest we have to a new Rad?
Posted by noctorro on December 16th, 2018 @ 2:31am CST
I love the knowledge of Transformers fans, that looks very inspired by that old Action Master. Now I really have to get that mold (and recolors).
I love it that Hasbro is just doing all the fembots from like 1 or 2 episodes.
This looks purely for the fans and this mold is way better than Victorion.
I like Victorion, but was kind of difficult to figure out why they are female.
1 more lady to go Hasbro!
Posted by ZeldaTheSwordsman on December 16th, 2018 @ 2:50am CST
Joe Kyde flat-out said he modeled Cybertron Smokescreen's deco off Rad, and the headsculpt made it a good fit.

Also, the Torchbearers' heads and breastplates were designed to make them more female-looking, so they have that going for them.
Yeah, I love Victorion because none of them use Designated Girl Molds but still have feminine touches. Same for Elita, Nautica and Road Rage. And I love Slash because there's nothing especially feminine about her. That's not to say that I have anything against the feminine-looking toys-- some of them are among my favorites-- but the ladies shouldn't all look like that.

Zobovor, I'm sorry somebody had used your original artwork without permission. I had no idea, as these pictures came from another website and there was no clarification about where the art came from. I've made an edit to the original news story to reflect that the artwork is your work and your property, and to put the use of it as a comparison to the new toy in context, i.e., that it is your fan artwork and not an official Sunbow character model sheet. If you would rather the picture using your artwork be removed from the article entirely, I can do that too. Please take a look at the article again and let me know if the changes and additions are to your liking.

The pictures include a comparison shot of Siege Optimus with both the inner white robot of Ultra Magnus and with Ultra Magnus all armoured up. There is also a good look at Shockwave, included being handled as if he had his original alt mode.
We have mirrored the images below for your convenience.
