I will be getting at least one of the VooDoo figures so I can see differences in the molds...

I am a little disappointed in the hips/crotch being so large but it's ironhide, it's official, it comes with a battle sled that is not part of the vehicle, it comes with a ton of accessories, did I mention it's official. I am willing to overlook the "diaper" look for all those positives.

To be fair, he always had the diaper look in the show.

Sigh. I do hope my opinion changes as more production photos make their way to us.

Sure about that? If they are doing Ratchet, they'll have to think of something for that red cross. Believe it or not, that logo is trademarked by, who else, the Red Cross, and they've started enforcing it in the past 10 to 15 years. Look at the recent comics, you'll see adapted symbols on both shoulders.

Easy. No symbols at all, like for the reisues of the G1 toy.
And also, that what reprolabels are for!

Notice how he's supposed to have the window as chest and has lower metallic abdomen between chest and his 'diaper'.

The MP figure has the entire front covering his torso. As much as I like the Masterpiece line, I am thinking about skipping this one, like I skipped Megatron and the first seeker mold that had bad proportions and panels hanging on the legs. Luckily, they released a better seeker MP later on. I think this Ironhide is not good enough to be an MP. If only they made him fold away the lower part of the van front and make the window rectangle-shaped.

huryochagi wrote:His torso is his only problem. His head, arms and lower body are good. His window should be vertically straight, not diagonal. His window should be his chest, above his abdomen. This MP figure has the lower part of the van front where his abdomen should be. That, combined with his diagonal window make him look obese instead of buffed.

While I agree with the abdomen part, the chest is simply drawn wrong as compared to the real life vehicle, I don't know why people religiously judge an updated G1 figure to an old cartoon that was hastily and sloppily drawn at the best of times. Even the original Ironhide toy had the sloped window if I'm not mistaken, because that was the vehicle it was based on; that's the trade off for getting licensed vehicles, the figure must conform to the design restrictions

Because of all the TF lines out there, Masterpiece is the one that has made a name for itself for taking the cartoon's animation models and making them into super show-accurate toy forms. To see a MP deviate from that ideal is bound to catch some questionable feedback. Updated designs are what CHUG toys are for, not MPs.Hellscream9999 wrote:While I agree with the abdomen part, the chest is simply drawn wrong as compared to the real life vehicle, I don't know why people religiously judge an updated G1 figure to an old cartoon that was hastily and sloppily drawn at the best of times. And as for the cartoon's inconsistencies, let us instead consult the original production model of the character's cartoon design:

I know that, but the masterpiece line has set the precedent of using licensed vehicles. This is where the inherent problem of this figure comes into play. Unless it uses a fake window for the chest, it cannot both have a rectangular chest window and the slanted silhouette of the vw (I believe) van.
Now are there ways around this? Maybe, I dunno, like had said: use a fake window, but this might be a problem for how it was designed, I don't know how it was engineered.

Next I foresee a E-Hobby or TTmall black release version ala Diacone/Encore/Bayformers black.

Japan (redundant ne?) Nissan VanetteCoach SGL was his original Dialcone vehicle mode.
