Every Figure Leaked So Far For the 2027 Age of Evolution Line

Lots of thoughts:

-I've heard some theories that Barricade is a Prime Smokescreen retool. I could see that, but I feel like that would be more IDW or Evergreen style.

-Nightbird is probably partial of Studio Series Arcee, but I'd love for it to be something new.

-Collapse is a new name. Either it's an entirely new character or a rename of an existing one. I'd like for it to be another Junkion, we still need another Autobot motorcycle to properly make Junkasaurus with no duplicates or Decepticons.

-I wonder if G2 Megatron is a shared mold with the upcoming Voyager Guzzle.

-Slipstream has people thinking Prime Starscream the like are coming as well. Finish the Armada mold reuses!

-Animated Lugnut! But we really need an Animated Megatron to go with him. Him and Titan Energon Tidal Wave can compare notes.

-Energon Scorponok is going to be interesting, can't see him being better than the original, but that's par for course with most of these figures. It'd be nice if we got Dark Scorponok and Double Punch from this mold.

-I'm thinking Rook is the G2 Decepticon/Cybertronian rather than the Combiner Wars guy. Makes sense with Liege Maximo just coming out this year and the previous troop releaser and Jhiaxus. Now where's Mindset?

-Viper has to be a Powerglide retool.

-Could Scoop be the first in a whole new set of Autobot Constructicons? As long as they don't drag it out as long as the G2 Stunticons.

- Slasah! She's back and bigger than ever! I wonder if she'll be a pre-tool of Transmetal 2 Dinobot?

-What mold would Sky Fire be? I'm thinking a retooled Armada Starscream for the bot mode silhouette.

-Snarl could be a bunch of different things. Personally I want a green G2 version (that's the one I had as a teen), but it'd be neat if it was a Shattered glass version in Insecticon colors.

-The Multipack is probably where we get our Megatron in this Megatron centered line. Personal wish would be the new G2 Megatron in Purple packed with the Volvo Prime in white and red to recreate the G2 Hero figures.

Considering we already have Skyfall being renamed to Sky Guard in the AotP wave, and we know current Hasbro design policy is to complete retail-release combiners within a year of starting the team, my current suspicion is that "Collapse" is gonna be a similarly renamed Landquake, and then the last Nexus limb will be in the listings we don't yet have.

I'm inclined to agree with Bumble that Rook will probably be the Minibot repaint, even though I personally would be most excited if it was Combiner Wars/IDW Rook (it would be crazy for him to appear before any other Protectobots though).

I would be fully on board with a full Autobot Devastator repaint, though I don't know who would make up the other components after G1 Scoop, Quickmix, and Landfill. I know the CW Devy had alt heads based on the RiD Build Team, but that left out G1 Landfill in favor of RiD Heavy Load and I don't know that the current design team would go for that? Plus I'm sure a big chunk of the online community would complain about RiD Landfill being inaccurate if he's made into a Devy repaint. It might actually be easier to do the 3 G1 guys and then make up new characters for the other 3 molds?

Only thing is, they'd have to make a new tank mold to Landquake as a Deluxe, which isn't out of the question, but I would think they'd just retool Brawl.

I mean, yeah, it's the first wave of a new line and it's got a large new dedicated Energon mold in it, if it was ever gonna happen it would be then. Not to mention that as far as we're currently aware, Brawl isn't compatible with the Superion frame and the Aerialbot legs aren't compatible with the Bruticus frame, so no matter what they're either gonna have to give at least 1 Nexus limb a new-or-heavily-retooled mold, or he'll have to get a new-or-heavily-retooled frame as opposed to just a repainted existing frame.

I actually think the Micromaster Transport guys specifically should be saved for whenever the designers want to do another iteration of the Weaponizer gimmick, and all four of them should be little guys with partsforming trailer armor like a bunch of tiny Magnus knockoffs (Overload and Roughstuff could even be retools of each other due to shared trailer alt modes).

As much as it personally irks me that it would make 2-3 of the proposed hypothetical components all have the same color scheme, they actually could also just do a G1-ified version of obscure movie character Trench, who's only notable trait is being an Autobot version of an existing Constructicon anyway and who I absolutely had to rediscover existed via TFWiki. Not like we're gonna see him in Studio Series anytime soon, between the sheer number of source materials competing for releases in that line now, way more prominent bots from TLK still needing updates before him, and also how are you supposed to retool SS Scrapper into an excavator anyway?
