While Seibertron has had exclusive images of the Platinum Conehead G1 rerelease (officially called TRANSFORMERS PLATINUM EDITION SEEKER SQUADRON 3-PACK) for almost a month now, Hasbro has finally provided stock images of this set and we have the high definition ones to show you. The previous in box images confirm that the deco will be provided through stickers and not tampographs. This set includes a reissue of G1 Dirge, Ramjet and Thrust and can currently be preordered online for 69.99$ US and 99.95$ US. It is set to ship early May.

For all news on the Platinum sets coming out in 2015, look no further than Seibertron.com

Bought Blitzwing/Astrotrain on ebay today, really not super expensive there. Looking forward to getting them whenever the slow boat decides to ferry them here.

Hey Congrats! Thats something I think I will never achieve, its really an awesome accomplishment, especially with today's market.

Most people here that know me will know my love of the G1 Seeker mold....

... so I'm rather disappointed in this set. Without anything funky to it, like an anime deco or weird colours or extra accessories - there isn't enough here to make it worth owning. I guess its great for people that need the figures, but I never buy reissues unless there is something 'different' from the vintage, which makes these a pass for me.

Your welcome your welcome your welcome!

Been on the fence for the E-hobby Thrust and Ramjet but their prices are simply waaaaaaaay out of my league for the prices they fetch. Even in ebay, Thrusts costs so high and that's for the loose and incomplete figs. Now both bricks and poseable versions are now mine (the former once delivered this May to be exact)

Desslock probably meant the coneheads not getting the "duocon" colored treatment.

Now, if only just the G1 Dinobots are released again( with the exception of Grimlock).....

Call me weird but I read that in the voice of a high-class British lady. :KREMZEEK:

Seriously, I really LOVE standard re-issues. Most of the G1 toys I own are reissues and I wouldnt own any otherwise. The true vintage stuff is either in bad shape or ridiculously expensive. In a world with no reissues, I can't even imagine how much the vintage G1 stuff would go for. So, with normal reissues, HasTak make new money and it allow the average guy to enjoy some G1 molds.

That's because in G1, it was always the vehicle mode that had priority, and the bot was designed around it. That's why the vehicle always look PERFECT but the bot suffer from it a bit.

Yeah, perhaps. Though many G1 figures still had better robot modes than the seekers. And I think it just annoyed me more at the time cos it was six toys all using the same basic mold. Ok Hasbro do that to infinity these days but back then it just seemed a bit off to me. I had Thundercracker (I liked it colour scheme the best back then though these days I'm more partial to the black and purple of Skywarp) and that was enough for me. I was more into collecting the wider variety of cars, vans and trucks the Autobots had (Jazz's Porsche and Sideswipe's Lamborghini being among the faves and they both had decent robot forms with good arm articulation even if bricky legs)

Woah woah woah, wait a sec. Hasbro has the insecticons on their main site with a suggested price tag of 64.99.

Why isnt anyone taking their suggestion?! This means the similarly priced triplechanger set will also be over 100$ cdn. Ha, I forsee another walmart masterpiece skywarp thing happening.

We had to squint back in the late 80s and use a whole lot of imagination back then  when playing with those bricks.

P.S. Since I can't wait for the local TRU and my local specialty store to get the Seekers, preordered at RK

While we already had an image of the contents of the Autobots Intel Ops Platinum set (which includes a rerelease of G1 Blaster and Perceptor), it had a lot of glare and we had yet to see what the box looks like. Well thanks to Seibertron User Daimchoc's facebook page, we now have a clearer image of the contents as well as the front image of the box which showcases some great artwork. However, it also confirms what we all thought, that Rewind is not included in this set. This hints that this rerelease of Blaster is probably the same set that was previously released as part of the Universe toy line, since that set also lacked Rewind. However, for those who do not have either of these great toys yet, this set could still be appealing. The galleries for the G1 figures or Blaster and Perceptor can be found here and here respectively.

Awesome news for those that don't have the figures, but for collectors like me - the lack of crazy colours is sad. Astrotrain and Blitzwing really scored high for me so I was hoping for some kinda lunatic colour scheme on these, too.

Joking about Rewind?
For me personally I already have the 2009 reissue... I am definitely tired of seeing the same crap on the shelves, whether it's the same reissues or same characters.
I expect this will go for around $100

Rewind would have been the smarter choice over Eject.

Ramhorn is a good addition to this set though. Not enough love goin around for that mold.

It would have also been an EPIC opportunity for Hasbro to chuck something really special and ultra rare like Dile or Saur into this release. A combiner cassette team. Being this is a "platinum" release and CW is all the rage right now.
Ya blew that one Hasbro. IMO

Steeljaw is always a solid choice though. He's a fantastic mold.

All of these sets have a ball park figure of about 100$ give or take 20$. We know for a fact that its not about the weight or the physical amount of toy found in them due to the small difference between the insecticon and seeker prices online. I think this set will not be more expensive than 120$US, which everything considered is still not that cheap.

There was just a tag, no mention of credentials or thanks. We could not assume this was a credit as opposed to tagging a friend to make sure they see the picture. And plus it lead to a facebook page with someone's real name. So due to wanting to keep a real name out of this and not directing people to a private page, especially since we couldnt be sure that was the credit (the page is private, the link could not be verified), we kept it at being found on Daimchoc's page, which was accurate from this point of view.

Now that we have you here, would you rather we credit you in a link to your page with your name or would you rather we use your Seibertron user ID?

Sorry if it's a hassle, but to better credit you next time, please send us a message at the link in my signature with the pictures you would like us to front page.

The re-issue looks OK, but Hasbro had the opportunity to include more of Blaster's rarer tape-bots and perhaps even give him & Perceptor cartoon-accurate faces/heads. I am intrigued by Perceptor's new feature and look forward to seeing it reviewed. Are Blaster's legs back to their metallic gray swirl color, or are they the beige-ish sparkle color of the SDCC version?

These re-issues, though repetitive, are still great. Keep the G1 coming (with improvements, if possible)! What about a Sunstreaker/ Sideswipe 2-pack, an Ironhide/ Ratchet 2-pack with new heads, or another Mini-bot box-set, or a Datsun-brothers set? G1 has so many possibilities. What about some more Decepticons like G1 Combiners box-sets? I only wish Astrotrain would be given a G1 toy-color re-issue; it's the only color scheme that has yet to be done.

What about the rumored re-issue G1 Dinobots? Is there any word on that? If only they were done in their proper G1 toy or cartoon colors in a box-set. I hope that rumor is true, but I really wouldn't be as interested if it was only the SDCC G1-color/ Dinos re-issued.

Anyway, it's a great time to be a Transformers fan! :D

Nope, it's just the brand is very one note at the moment... combiners, reissues, and the new show (which after 13 episodes, I don't like), all very G1 stuck with a specific style/gimmick. Animated, pre-CW Generations/Universe, and Prime at least had quite a bit of diversity and variety... not to mention the toys have been cheapened, simplified, and are more expensive, which bothers me. I'm bored. There is literally nothing of interest for me in the brand right now or in the immediate future outside of the comics and possibly the show if a plot is introduced I-) I-) I-)

Oh man, sounds like that really sucks. I guess we should go back to the time when there was only one line of transformers toys on the shelves like G1, or the beat era, or maybe diversify the shelves with more movie toys >:oP

Oh yeah, that. It was around 10$ shipped. Small and cheap.

But did you know, I'm a proud owner of a Kiss Player! Autorooper with Atari. It's a repaint/remold of Alternators Jazz. The TF itlesf is a great mold and I really love the minifig.

I paid like 30$ + shipping for it, 100% complete with box and papers! Honestly, I wouldnt mind another line of exclusive Takara TFs that come with sexy minifigs, complete with some absurd storyline!

Don't need complex toys with more parts. This is what the movie toys had. Didn't like the movie toys. All those complex Transformations just to get a ugly robot.

Think the Combiners Wars toys are great toys. Simple to Transform, Look great and have enough articulation. Think their HasTak's best update Combiners toys.

We had to squint back in the late 80s and use a whole lot of imagination back then  when playing with those bricks.

P.S. Since I can't wait for the local TRU and my local specialty store to get the Seekers, preordered at RK

$69.99!? That's a great price for a set of three G1 reissues. It makes me wonder what was with the price of the Insecticons set.
