Is it an unwritten rule that none transforming Primes have to either be hideously ugly, horrendously expensive, or, if at all possible, both?

I'm sure I'll end up with the Prime kit, but I really want to see some pics of the kit assembled straight out of the box.

Yeah, I'd like to know how much panting is involved, or if it will be like a log of Gundam Models where they are molded in the proper colors already.

Same. I'm really hoping i don't need to paint him to look good (I put together Gundam models but never worry about much more than a few stickers)
Everytime I see him I get more excited. I love the Gundam feel to him, and the headsculpt is absolutely fantastic

Thanks to Weibo user 漫港湾, we have some in-hand images of a retail production prototype (rather than display copy) for the officially licensed but non transforming Flame Toys figure Tarn - the second in their highly detailed and highly posable figures inspired by the IDW Publishing comics. The leader of the Decepticon Justice Division can be seen below, with his mask in full view, what seems to be electronic for his optics, and some scene re-enactions with Drift - the first figure from their line.
Check it all out, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub discussion boards!

Thirded. He looks so good but it’s such a shame he doesn’t transform! That picture of his eyes lit up!
Maybe we’ll get him in the War For Cybertron trilogy...?

We're on day two of San Diego Comic Con 2018, and just before we head back into the convetnion hall, we have some images from the Bluefin booth covering the Flame Toys figures - the officialli licensed non-transforming action figures based on IDW Transformers designs - including their model kits, super deformed and stylised, plus the larger, super poseable figures for Tarn, Staar Saber and Optimus Prime.
Among the model kits, you'll spot both Optimus and Nemesis Prime, plus a small Bumblebee in the superdeformed line and a fully equipped grey prototype, and a Starscream taking a nap on the display cases floor. Check out the images below, and stay tuned for more coverage from the event as the weekend goes on!
Model kits, superdeformed, and 1:64 scale - see images for name, I am collapsing on shuttle as it is

Based on these pics, I'd say the Optimus IDW model kit looks better than the high end figure. That high end figure needs some work. I was excited for it, but less so after these pics. The torso into the waist into the hips looks off - too skinny a waist maybe...

These look nice!
I plan to judge the kits themselves off of the first OP we get in September, but I'm hoping they're good, cause I wouldn't mind that IDW Prime or that Bumblebee. Or even Nemesis and Starscream.
And Star Saber looks pretty frikkin boss

While we're still trying to track down the actual source of these images (though we know they are from the preview events over at ACG HK in Hong Kong), we have a new look in full colour at the Flame Toys non-transforming but officially licensed Transformers Star Saber figure - the third in their super posable line - and a newly revealed fourth grey prototype which can combine with the former: Victory Leo!
Check out the images below and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub discussion boards! It doesn't look like Leo has a robot mode, but the result - which is totally not GaoGaiGar from Brave - is pretty impressive nonetheless.

*puts on yuusha oh tanjou...you just have to*
A few questions:
How much? And how soon can it get to me?
These are amazing, the detail...the sculpting...I don't care they don't transform properly, these are a thing of beauty. And I'm not just saying that as a massive fan of Gaogaigar Final (this totally looks like Genesic GaoGaiGar in combined form)

Um, um, um.......
I am so glad I plan to get a lot less generations stuff next year.... I really want this. I will pre-order both as soon as they are ready.
Seriously, this is the coolest thing I have ever seen in the Transformers world.
