Ahem, anyway I like zombies n robots and stuff so I'm sure I'll at least get a few kicks outta this.
But it is canon. We already know that Infestation leads into Abnett & Lanning's Heart of Darkness mini-series starring Galvatron.
Well I... No- no I just don't feel like coming up with a witty response to that. Plus it would require research that I'm not willing to bother with. So I'll just stick to the usual "Oh ha ha, very funny." shtick.
It begins here! The first-ever IDW event, which affects the Transformers, G.I. Joe, Ghostbusters, and Star Trek universes!
All in the products description posted in the article.
It is not canon. I'm f***ing positive someone in a previous interview already said it wouldn't affect any of the current running series.
God forbid, knowing my memory there could be a chance I'm wrong, still, if
anything it's an alternate reality, or better yet they use four ultimate Mac Guffins and we get a "
Never actually happened." ending, which would fit in with IDWs status quo.
Edit:I guess the term "canon" being used here would still be up for debate though as
in it's own alternate universe it would be canon, but let's not get complicated. I'm referring to it being canon within the current ongoing series, which it isn't... Though in retrospect
it wouldn't be a bad thing.

That with the interview, All Hail Megatron was originally also announced as a "What if" title. But Infestation has been stated as being in continuity with all four titles for quite some time now. Also the infestation portions for each series are issues in the ongoing titles as regular stories. Sure they could pull the "no longer canon" trick, but then they would loose what little credibility they have left.
Even if that Interview exists and states it's non-canon, this is the newest, most recent ad for it and it states it's canon for all 4 (actually 5) comic titles. It might have been originally intended as non-canon, but then again the upcoming Ridley Scott original Science Fiction movie "Prometheus" was originally intended to be the long awaited Alien Prequel.
