Takara Tomy is kicking off the new year with their first reveal of 2021! Thanks to Seibertronian Powered Convoy for alerting us to a tweet from Takara Tomy's official Twitter revealing Skids as the latest figure from the 1985 lineup to get a Masterpiece figure. This is very early news with only early line art and the 2021 release all we know. Surely in the coming months we'll have something more substantial to share, but for now this might just be the pick-me-up that some of us could use.
And, finally Transformers War World (ongoing) Issue #26 is available digitally this week, and printed next week! Review by ScottyP coming next week.
You can buy these issues including variant covers like the one above in theSeibertron.com eBay store!
Galaxies #12 - Mini-Review
This beautifully drawn, colored and created series comes to a close and only somewhat disappoints…especially because the last issue was almost two months ago!
Time flies when your hunting bots illegally selling pieces of their dead brethren...and space relics.
I want to rave about the visual creative team here for a bit with more on the story later. Art was by Transformers veteran Andrew Griffith with colors by Josh Burcham and letters and design by Jake M. Wood. The characters are, to put it simply, beautifully and expressively rendered. The giant Magnus space armor rings of Iron Man suits and of course, the armor used in the showdown with the DJD in Transformers More Than Meets the Eye. It can make one wonder how many suits of armor a bot in another suit of armor has available to him, but it’s an interesting and somewhat overboard newish take on Magnus and his apparent love for armor. Or for creative teams to just want to power him up with even larger armors… I was in awe of so many of the panels. How many layers does this seemingly straight-forward warrior bot have? I hope we find out about more, as we have yet to see Minimus Ambus be any part of this continuity.
Just enjoy the awesome moment...
"I hear you like to combine with large armors..."
As for the story, I can say issue #4 wraps up the whole thing rather neatly, and sadly, without much pomp. I had to go back and re-read issue #3 to remind myself exactly what was happening in this storyline and how it fit into the overall occurrences happening in the regular series. It seems we were fit for a bit of a real-life version (about 2 months minimum our time since issue 3) of the messed up time passing in the book, as we find out that since they left Cybertron, much has happened (all the upheaval and overthrow of the Senate that is happening in the ongoing). It clearly leads directly into what is happening in current issues and the next series to come out…ESCAPE.
A beautiful moral, from a beautiful spark.
The tie in to ESCAPE...
Escape #1 - Mini-Review
Back on Cybertron, albeit currently a different crew than was in Galaxies, we are starting to experience what the Decepticon uprising is causing to others in more detail. It was clear with what Quake had done that the other alien species on Cybertron were not as safe as they once were, and that in a large part their safety depended on what was in place…which has been uprooted and changed.
Here's what I think of your status quo!
All of that changed, and as we can see at the beginning of Escape, things are escalating quickly as the new threats to Cybertronians and non-Cybertronians like the A’ovans on the planet have taken an even deadlier path. Enter those carnivorous, blood-thirsty Insecticons from Galaxies 1-4, the guys who playing back up to the main story about the Constructicons. They’re back on Cybertron and they are dangerous and ravenous. They aren’t the cutesy bugs who ate crops and manipulated people and robots in cartoons of old, no they are much more dangerous and unstable..and they seem to have an appetite for organic more than metallic lifeforms. It’s turned into a horror show and if the last panels in Galaxies #12 shows us anything, it is going to be possibly much, much worse.
Galaxies to us.
It is to this new level of threat and civil war that we are introduced to the idea that it may be time for many beings to leave Cybertron. Those who were representing other worlds, saved or transplanted to Cybertron, and those who are natives who want nothing to do with the current danger.
In a society filled with new perils being introduced, and misinformation and propaganda being spread freely, there is apparently, a lack of spaceworthy vehicles on the planet, and it appears that some possibly dangerous barter will need to happen in the section of the planet many will recognize…Darkmount, home to Straxxus -in previous continuities a Deception tyrant with Megatron levels of aspiration and power- what will he be like in the new continuity? We will find out soon enough.
Is there a good equivalent to all of these new evil threats? It appears that, yes, we can count on another heroic captain from Transformers history to be pulled from stasis and introduced, but will he help? Or is this another story-telling trap? Commander -BEEP- -BEEP- you're needed ASA-BEEP-!
Another creatively, inspiring issue with art by Beth McGuire-Smith and colors by Priscilla Tramontano and letters by Jake M. Wood. I found myself drawn to the amazing contradictions and patterns being spun between characters and their environments. There were some truly amazing texture and color work put together here to make some eye-catching panels. I find Beth’s work reminiscent of Sara Pitre-Durocher’s in the expressiveness of the eyes and faces of the robots, as well as, the bodies movements. I think you can tell when Beth was really having fun drawing panels, especially those involving the Insecticons, really letting her expressiveness and energy show through. I think she depicted comically well, how out of control the Insecticons are over their hunger… maybe a little too comically at times, but overall it works right now! I do hope that we see darker indicators in color usage as the situation becomes more dire in issues to come.
These Insecticons remind me of Transformers Prime’s scary big and deadly Insecticon, Hardshell. Vicious and deadly, but with a mix of vampires and zombies mixed in. It’s truly a bit frightening take on some characters who were lovingly flawed, but pretty regular bad guy robots. Tyler Bleszinski really did well to turn them into a nightmare for current Transformers fans in Constructicons Rising and we now see the foretold events unfolding. This does harken back to before Tyler, as well though, if you remember the Insecticons on Cyberton that threatened the Autobots in 'All Hail Megatron' - they as a swarm were pretty dark also...except BOB!!!
Bob? Bobbb? Is that you? Oh BOB, no... no, it can't be you!
_______________________________________
Escape looks promising in its not as simple as it sounds. To get off the world that is not what it was is the goal, but it seems that goal has been put on a deadly timeline with a quest for resources that are seemingly scarcer than we were once led to believe.
The first issue shows promise with the return of the Insecticons and the brief introductions of some new (old) characters in Straxxus and the possible Autobot savior.

2021 is right at our doorstep so the Transformers due out first quarter were bound to appear sooner or later. And now, we have US sightings of the entire first wave of Transformers Kingdom. The toys have been shipping out from various retailers for the past week (Gamestop, Target, BBTS, ect), with the deluxes released first, but now we also have in store sightings:
Voyagers found at Gamestop in San Antonio Texas by Cprime18 who wrote to us.
Leaders were found at Target in Chicago (along with the Spike/Bumblebee two pack) by Jason Blue Boost.
Deluxes and voyagers were found at Canadian Walmarts in Ontario. We thank fellow Seibertronian TheEvilProfessor for letting us know.

2021 is right at our doorstep so the Transformers due out first quarter were bound to appear sooner or later. And now, we have US sightings of the Transformers Studio Series 86 voyagers and deluxes. Voyagers Hot Rod (who you'll recall is deluxe height) and Scourge were spotted at Target in Murrieta, CA today. We thank fellow Seibertronian Rysquad for letting us know. The Deluxes were found by Alchemist Prime Reviews (on youtube), who wrote to us, in Long Beach California. We have a receipt below. The deluxes in that case are Blurr, Kup and Jazz.
And while not exactly a studio series figure, those take up a big part of the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line and the two pack with Spike was also found at Target, this time in Chicago. The source for the sighting is a post on TFW.

Greetings Seibertronians! With sighting of the Kingdom line coming in, and some of you already receiving the first Voyagers and leader class figures, YouTube toy reviewer, Kremzeek Reviews, looks ahead to the future to bring us a review of the Deluxe Class Airazor from Wave 2!
This figure aims to replicate the characters cartoon appearance while giving the animal mode a more realistic look. Her mate, Tigatron will be appearing in the line as one of the future Voyager Class figures, in keeping with his media portrayal (as further shown by his Masterpiece toy)

The new Cyberverse deluxe figures have been out for a little while now but only recently have reviews popped up. Below you can see reviews posted on youtube by PrimevsPrime, Chuckdawg1999, DredgeX97 and Ironhide Productions. The deluxes being reviewed are Soundwave (twice), Prowl and Starscream. The Starscream review is a rather important one since this is the first time you will see the toy properly transformed and it does look better than in the promotional images. Let us know what you think!

Good news, Masterpiece fans! MP-51 Arcee is now shipping, and in some cases, has already shown up! I got a shipping notice Sunday, and a scant 36 hours later, she was at my door, thanks to Amazon Japan.
One Seibertronian, -Kanrabat-, got his even earlier, and was gracious enough to send us a fantastic and thorough pictorial review of the latest Masterpiece figure, the second fembot in the line (after Road Rage). Check out what he has to say and show us below!
GOT HER!
So here's my review and lots of linked pictures!
The box is your standard MP box. Small yet effective.
She come packed in vehicle mode with her accessories. Obligatory card and manual.
The vehicle is absolutely PERFECT. All the details are there.
Despite the arms hanging a bit low, the car roll flawlessly.
This beautiful BLURRY picture show that this Arcee manage to actually have the rear of the car.
The interior is perfectly detailled, down to even a painted dashboard!
You can see how everything tuck under the car.
Here's a comparison shot with all the previous G1 inspired Arcees (Except Animated whom I forgot.)
The "tire blow" weapon attach firmly and is pretty menacing looking.
Other guns can attach to the car as well but that look daff.
Transformation is long and hard, but surprisignly not frustrating. Also, everything felt SOLID in hand with nothing seeming fragile or about to break. The instructions have large pictures but sometime, some details are hard to make out. The magority of the transformation is to compress the panels festival that is the car shell in the most compact backpack scientifically manageable.
In the end, we end up with a pretty nice fembot with a backpack that is not too bad in person, considering that the car mode have NO sacrifices. Obviously, Arcee is back heavy and it limit some poses.
The visor is inside her helmet and it's easy enough to put in place. The faces are easy to change but you must mind the alignment of the face inside the head. It's easy to misplace it. But if you do well, the result is pretty nice!
The gun is very easy to place in her hand and it's SOLID. Also, her jointed hands are VERY appreciated. She have the thumb, the index, and the 3 other fingers as a single unit that can move.
Yeas, she have a high collac and "realistic" sagging "breasts". That's an odd design choice but it's not too bad. This Arcee is not the naive young girl, but an hardenned veteran. So it work.
Also....
"Haters gonna hate!"
Yup. She can ballance pretty well. I think her legs may have diecast so it help.
She can snipe.
Compared to the previous Arcees.
Arcee have blast effects compatible with her guns.
And a tiny gun that may reffer to a single episode. Complete with it's dedicated blast effect that can't go to any other gun.
Overall, was she worth the 180$CAN total, shipping and taxes included?
I have to admit, YES. Totally. Contrary to my previous purchase with MPM Starscream, I feel that here, I got the best deal and she's worth every single cents that I paid.
Could this Arcee be better? Maybe yes, but some choices had to be made. Here, it's the vehicle mode that got priority so the robot is a bit compromised with her backpack. As for the saggy chest, it may have been avoided, but still, I love that "older" Arcee.
I highly recommend the official MP. Especially for the Arcee lover who have all the official figures and even some Third Party.

A Review of Transformers: War for Cybertron, "Chapter Two: Earthrise"
Spoiler Free-ish Images in this review courtesy of Netflix
With much closer timing to its namesake toyline, the next part of the Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy known as "Chapter Two: Earthrise" is due for release on Netflix in only a few days' time. Picking up where "Chapter One: Siege" left off, Earthrise finds the heroic Autobots adrift in space in search of the Allspark which they themselves sent out there. For a little bit more, here's the official synopsis provided by Netflix:
The WAR FOR CYBERTRON continues with the second chapter, EARTHRISE! With the Allspark gone, Megatron is forced to confront the harsh reality that his Decepticons are trapped on a dying Cybertron while also fighting off the persistent threat of Elita-1 and her Autobots. Meanwhile, lost in the darkest reaches of space, Optimus Prime and his team embark on a desperate mission that will push them to the breaking point as they travel to uncharted new worlds to face spacefaring mercenaries, enigmatic figures from long ago and even their own creators…the Quintessons.
How does this chapter stack up to the first, and to expectations in general? Read on to find out.
Siege II: Siege Harder
The initial episode ignores the cliffhanger at the end of "Siege" and returns the action to Cybertron. While this does result in the first of many questionable pacing choices, it helps set up the basis for the plot lines to follow effectively while continuing to build on the character of Megatron. It will also serve as a good reset of expectations for any viewers that expect a dramatic shift in tone, acting, or even the quality of production for "Earthrise", in that it really is a sequel to "Siege" and feels like it right from the beginning. Any problems a viewer had with respect to animation, voice acting, or the Tron: Legacy copycat score (my biggest sore point from Siege) will remain in Earthrise. Plan accordingly.
Based on early trailers and promotional images, many fans are looking forward to the new "faction" known as the Mercenaries, featuring some franchise standards like the conehead Seekers alongside new or sparsely used characters such as Exhaust and Doubledealer. They're only especially present within one episode, but they bring some fun and even humor to the mix and help break up the generally slow pace of the first 2/3 of the show. While not given especially deep characterization, they serve a purpose in the story and do so well.
Pictures taken moments before tragedy
The writing isn't a huge departure from Siege, but there are a few lines throughout that feel like they'd be more at home in a soap opera or low budget horror film. When these occur for the purpose of levity, such as Red Alert mentioning how he's "always... alert", that's ok and it ultimately provides some welcome personality. When it's in a serious moment and the show follows it up by having the characters within take it especially serious, then I just feel insulted. Some of the new characters introduced see their plot progress too quickly without earning it, while others still are some of the more egregious uses of "they're here to sell toys" that we've seen in a while. Characters appear who speak lots of words that end up not meaning anything which makes the experience more somniferous than stimulating.
That leads to the big offender with respect to the overall problems carried over from Siege into Earthrise: pacing. Just as the first four episodes of Siege felt like they dragged on, so do three of the first four of Earthrise. Saving almost all of the good stuff for the third act isn't very surprising, but the relative dullness of what comes before it was for me. Some viewers are likely to disagree with this sentiment, and there's definitely an argument to be made that Earthrise does much better at making sure to include action scenes on a regular basis. Unfortunately, when these are padded out with a nearly six minute long conversation between Optimus Prime and Megatron, that loses its luster.
Not lacking in pretty lights
The show looks very nice, and even downright incredible in some scenes, with the texture artists once again providing a visual treat for Transformers fans. More variation in the environments helps here too, with the backdrop of a galactic journey providing more opportunity for variation than the constant scenery of war-torn Cybertron. Sure, characters still move too much while talking, not enough of them transform, and the cost-saving recycling of CGI character models is completely frustrating at times, but within the framework put forth Polygon did an outstanding job. A particular one on one battle in episode five even added characterization through the action for someone familiar to Transformers fans but wholly obscure to casual viewers that only caught the live action movies, which was an impressive feat and part of the show that I really enjoyed.
Verdict All Earthrise for the honorable judge
If this review feels very negative, there's a very good reason for it - reviewers were not allowed to mention details about the final episode. This is a really bizarre thing as it's the strongest episode in the series to date and that's really about all I'm allowed to say about it until December 30th. You'll just have to take my word for it that the end of this show was very good and saved it from a much worse numerical score. The rest of it is quite boring. How boring? To be genuinely honest, I haven't had to actively struggle to pay attention to a Transformers show like this since Transformers: Energon. What was being laid down was clear and nothing went super far off the rails, but a good bit of Earthrise just did not land for me. Eventually it was worth it to have made it through, but I don't see myself coming back to this one anytime soon.
Final Score . ½

The next toys from the upcoming Transformers War for Cybertron Kingdom line to get the gallery treatment are WFC-K7 Paleotrex and WFC-K3 Vertebreak.
Deluxe Class Paleotrex is a Fossilizer, similar in functionality to the Siege Weaponizers (which become accessories and weapons that are compatible with other Transformers). His alternate mode is the fossilized bones of a Tyrannosaurus rex. Core Class Vertebreak, while her alternate mode is a fossilized dinosaur that resembles a Dracorex, is not a Fossilizer.
Both figures are part of first wave of War for Cybertron Kingdom products which will be available at brick-and-mortar retail soon and have already begun showing up at online retail.
Are you thinking of adding these two unique Transformers to your collection? Share your thoughts about Paleotrex and Vertebreak as well as the rest of the Kingdom toys in our topic here.

Review for Transformers Back to the Future Crossover Issue 2
Ok so two issues in and this series is perfectly fine for what it is: a Transformers/Back to the Future Crossover. The first issue had an extra fun feel since it basically replayed the events of the first film but in a chronological manner in the point of view of someone watching the DeLorean disappear in the 80s, setting up the story brilliantly since anyone who saw the film can just fill in any blank easily, and ending in not one but two great cliffhangers.
I was rather excited to read this one and while the cliffhangers are explained, it takes practically the entire issue to do so, meaning that you are in for flashbacks for 75% of the issue. We learn all about Gigawatt and how the Decepticons became as dominant as they are now and it's fun for the most part. I most especially love how Megatron is portrayed. They strike a nice balance of ruthlessness with an over the top ego, where we even see him sport a regal cape.
Once the backstory is explained, we are back to the present just in time to end the issue on another cliffhanger and that's it. Story-wise, there are no false beats here, it's just fun and anyone liking these two franchises and the idea of having fiction serve as a toy commercial will enjoy this.
On the art front, it does the job but only passably. Megatron, Gigawatt and Rumble are drawn fine but there is a rather big shot of Rodimus Prime (you read that right) that does not look right. The proportions are off, it looks like a failed attempt at a perspective shot, and a dull surprise look serves as the icing on top.
Overall, it doesn't negate from the fun experience of the comic but it doesn't go in the plus column either. If you are a fan of fun crossovers, or G1 Megatron, or the idea of Rodimus being the leader of the Autobots rather than Prime, then I'd recommend giving this a shot.

The Transformers Buzzworthy Bumblebee line sure is odd. I am still baffled by the use Bumblebee's evergreen design on the box when so far no toy in this surprise line sports that design and now it's quite odd that this line is being found at retail when it still has not been announced. Maybe it's just to have more Bumblebee toys on the shelves, who knows. The Studio Series rereleases (or prerelease for one of them) have been found at Target. So this might be a Target exclusive line, once again we know very little about this line. The toys found were BB-15 15 Bumblebee & Charlie, BB-26 WWII Bumblebee, BB-40 Shatter and BB-74 Camaro Bumblebee & Sam, which all sport their Studio Series numbers.
But that is not all, fans were also surprised to see another Buzzworthy release that none of us knew was happening, a rerelease of the movie Mega One Step, also at Target. The deluxes are 19.99 and were found in Georgia according to this Reddit post, while the giant one step is 29.99 and was found in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, by sdtessmann. For those wanting it, the DPCI# is 087-16-7189.

David Kaye and Garry Chalk, aka Beast Wars Megatron and Optimus Primal, have a yearly tradition of sending out holiday greetings. They usually use the voices of their Beast Wars characters when doing so. We have both of those videos below. Chalk's video is a parody on the "my favourite things" song. U.K. retailer InDemand Toys has posted a slew of product images for upcoming toys, and from multiple lines, to boot! Seibertronian Shiningstar7896 alerted us to the Facebook post containing in-package images of Studio Series 70 B-127, Studio Series 71 Dino, R.E.D Arcee and Cheetor, the "Retro" Headmaster reissues, and the Ghostbusters Afterlife version of Ectotron. Feast your eyes on these new images below!
There are a couple of interesting things to note about these releases. First and foremost, Ectotron comes packaged in blister packaging, rather than the retro style box that his first release came in. Those retro style boxes look great on the Headmaster "reissues", and though the Headmaster partners retain their Titans Return name spellings, Weirdwolf actually gets his original name back, having been called "Wolfwire" in the previous release of the mold. The R.E.D. releases of Prime Arcee and Cheetor showcase their Action-Master (aka non-transforming) style figures, though curiously, Cheetor's head appears to be cast in a bronze colored plastic, rather than the yellow and gold of his package art. And last, but not least, B-127 is confirmed to be the full official name of of the figure.
So what do you think of these new photos? Do you plan to pick up any of these figures? Please feel free to discuss these below!

Transformers MP 51 Masterpiece Arcee is shipping from online retailers at the end of this month and it has even appeared in some shops like Takashiyama in Singapore. Cybertron21 has released a transformation video which you can see below. This will close the year of Arcee where each line had an Arcee release, be it Studio Series, War for Cybertron, Cyberverse and Masterpiece. Oddly enough, while the Masterpiece should be the most cartoon accurate it has a rather inacurate chest. In the cartoon, Arcee has a pink upper torso and a small white collar around her neck but here it makes it look like her collar is part of her torso, and the front of the torso begins below her shoulders. It's like her back half and her front half are not in synch with one another. Feel free to share your thoughts on the matter now that we can see exactly how she transforms and which sacrifices were made.
The Singapore sighting was reported on TFW2005 by their member Automorpher.
