Today marks the theatrical release of the new Masters of the Universe movie, bringing Eternia back to the big screen and introducing a new generation of fans to He-Man, Skeletor, Castle Grayskull, and the eternal battle for the fate of Eternia.
To celebrate the return of Masters of the Universe to theaters, we're spotlighting one of the most creative and unexpected toy collaborations in recent memory: the Masters of the Universe Origins x Transformers crossover line from Mattel and Hasbro. What happens when the heroes and villains of Eternia receive upgrades from some of the most iconic Autobots and Decepticons of all time? The answer is a collection of action figures that feel like they were ripped straight from the imagination of kids who grew up playing with both franchises.

The crossover series was released in two waves. The first wave paired Skeletor with Megatron and Man-At-Arms with Bumblebee. The second wave followed with He-Man receiving an Optimus Prime upgrade while Scare Glow embraced the treacherous power of Starscream. Each figure features newly designed armor, crossover-inspired accessories, mini-comics, and enough nostalgia to satisfy fans of both legendary toy lines.
Megatron Armor Skeletor

Few villains in toy history seem more perfectly matched than Skeletor and Megatron. Both are ruthless conquerors obsessed with power, and this crossover takes that idea to its logical conclusion. Skeletor dons armor inspired by the Decepticon leader, giving the evil sorcerer a mechanical makeover complete with a massive cannon, battle armor, and enough menace to make even Hordak think twice.
The purple-and-silver color palette feels right at home on Skeletor, while the fusion of fantasy and science fiction aesthetics makes this one of the standout designs in the entire collaboration. If Megatron ever needed an apprentice on Eternia, Skeletor would certainly be first in line.
Bumblebee Armor Man-At-Arms

While Skeletor and Megatron represent ultimate villainy, Man-At-Arms and Bumblebee showcase the heroic side of this crossover. Eternia's master inventor and weapons expert receives a bright yellow Cybertronian upgrade inspired by one of the Autobots' most beloved characters.
Featuring removable armor pieces, multiple weapons, and a distinctive Bumblebee-inspired color scheme, this figure looks like it rolled directly off the assembly line between Castle Grayskull and Autobot City. The combination works surprisingly well, creating a version of Duncan that feels fresh while remaining instantly recognizable.
The second wave raised the stakes even higher by giving the leaders of good and evil some of the most recognizable upgrades in Transformers history.
Optimus Prime Armor He-Man

If there is one pairing that feels destined to happen, it is He-Man and Optimus Prime. Both are noble leaders who inspire those around them and stand as symbols of heroism for generations of fans.
Optimus Prime Armor He-Man gives the Most Powerful Man in the Universe a striking Autobot-inspired upgrade complete with helmet, visor, shield, axe, and the legendary Power Sword. The red-and-blue color scheme immediately evokes Optimus Prime while still feeling completely at home in Eternia.
The result is arguably the centerpiece of the entire crossover line and a figure that celebrates the best qualities of both franchises.

Starscream Armor Scare Glow

The final figure in the series may be the most visually dramatic of them all.
Scare Glow's skeletal appearance already makes him one of the most memorable Masters of the Universe villains, but adding Starscream-inspired armor takes things to another level. Wing-mounted blasters, a regal crown, and a removable cape transform the ghostly warrior into a Decepticon-inspired nightmare.
The translucent body combined with Starscream's signature design cues creates a figure unlike anything else in either franchise. It is bizarre, over-the-top, and exactly the kind of crossover concept that makes this line so much fun.
