New Images of Studio Series Hot Rod and Crosshairs Showing Dynamic Poses

Posted by william-james88 Aug 18, 2022 at 9:32am CDT 49,790 views
While not all fans like the Bayverse designs, it seemed pretty unanimous that the Hot Rod toy presented on tuesday's stream was a very impressive toy and one of the highlights of the reveals. It was also cool to know about Lamborghini having quite an input on the toy's looks. Sam Smith (not the singer) posted images of both that toy and the other 2022 wave 4 deluxe, Crosshairs, on his Instagram. For Crosshairs, he demonstrates how dynamic the figure can be with how they handled the trench coat, and how it not connecting at the sides increases poseability. Enjoy!

Exactly, things like that, or the amount of people involved in making Megatron, or them just flat out saying that they couldn't factor Inferno's gun into the budget.

I will second that. And third, fourth, fifth, and sixth it. It's great to see how the front flaps of the "coat" work on Crosshairs...just fantastic work!

It's like the complete opposite of how things were handled by the Hasbro team of 2010-2013, who were just so secretive and overprotective of everything. At every one of those years' BotCons, that Hasbro team held panels for new revelations related to the Aligned continuity (TF: Prime, the WFC/FOC video games, or just the Aligned lore in general) and each time they were like "What we're about to show you requires that you turn off all your cameras and recording devices, and if we find out that you've taken any pictures or videos of this, you're history, and so is our showing you all anything like this ever again!"

And yes, Rumble is an insta-buy.

You know hasbro's done a figure right if it can make converts out of people
Well I wouldn't call myself a convert, but I'm not against getting a great looking piece like that either. I don't have many SS figures, leaders mostly, but this will be a centerpiece for sure.

I was gonna wait for the MPM version, but that might be years away and this looks great anyway.

I also did enjoy hearing about how Inferno and Starscream do share that voyager budget and how a change in deco for inferno's ant eyes meant removing paint from Starscream's sword. It does confirm what people have been saying a long time that to understand how a figure comes out, you have to get a sense of the entire wave/class output.
As for the decision, it makes both figures more toy accurate. But at the same time, I woudn't have minded the original plan either. Still, cool to know they think a lot of stuff like that.

irnerno lacking the gun is sad, but not the end of the world. His original toy didn't come with it anyway (it came with weird pincers), but an upgrade kit surely will. On the upside, HE HAS MOUTH ARTICULATION! I don't remember seeing mouth articulation before, except maybe legacy metroplex.

PvP review for The Fallen is out, the size comparisons are very cool to see! Fallen is very big, seemingly about the same height as Grimlock (if not slightly shorter)

Forgot to include the link in the news submission, sorry about that!

Wait hold up, what gun are we talking about on Inferno, the four-barreled one that doubles as its boosters, the one in all the promo pics?

Pretty sure they mean this one.

They wanted to include a weapon but couldn't price it in so they went with the butt gun instead.

Just scored core class Ratchet and Wheelie for $8.49 each.

Be alert - Ratchet's gun was loose in the box. If I hadn't been pulling it fresh out of the case myself it'd probably be lost to the winds of the toy aisle.

Where from? And yeah, been having some issues myself with parts bouncing around in the box.

The lack of the flamethrower from the show. The one with ant jaws on it that replaced the claw pincer from the toy.

Target. Sort of an important detail, I guess. Guess I got over excited there.

We thank EvasionModeBumblebee for sending more news regarding The Fallen our way. It seems quite a few fans got their hands on him already since we have content from China, Korea and now the UK. Below are photos from a blog post on a Korean website along with images from PrimevsPrime review. Those show The Fallen next to ROTF Megatron, the Jetfire/Prime combo and more. We also have in hand images of the alt mode, for those who find it important. Let us know what you think!

That's a different altmode configuration from the one Hasbro showed in their livestream.

I guess that's the type of "vehicle" where anything goes.

Also, for such a "big" leader, he's not that much bigger than the original voyager.
Modern Transformers sure got hit hard with the shrink ray...
