Target Finally Has Studio Series MTMTE Prowl and Insecticons In Stock and Already 20% Off!

Posted by Seibertron Sep 22, 2026 at 10:31am CDT 4,970 views
Studio Series MTMTE Collection Prowl and the Insecticons have finally surfaced at Target.com after Target canceled many pre-orders for the figures around their originally scheduled July release. Better yet, they're currently available to ship — and somehow already 20% off.

Target still lists a July 19, 2026 street date for both releases, so it appears the delayed availability never caught up with whatever pricing schedule Target had planned for them. Whatever the reason, fans who missed out after their pre-orders were canceled now have another shot at both releases for less than retail.

Transformers Studio Series MTMTE Collection Insecticons

Target has the three-pack available now for $63.99, down from $79.99. Bombshell, Shrapnel and Kickback feature movie-inspired deco based on their appearances in The Transformers: The Movie, and the set also includes six pink glow-in-the-dark Energon cubes.

Transformers Studio Series MTMTE Collection Prowl

Prowl is currently available for $22.39, down from $27.99. The figure features his classic movie-inspired Autobot police car deco, converts between robot and vehicle modes, and includes his blaster and removable police siren bar.

Both releases are part of Hasbro's MTMTE Collection celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie.

Voyager Class Starscream was another MTMTE Collection release affected by Target's canceled pre-orders, but unlike Prowl and the Insecticons, there is still no sign of him being available to order again. For now, Starscream remains the missing piece of this delayed Target assortment.

The timing was dumb luck. Target has a storewide sale of 20% off all transformers this week which is why the prices are lower then when they first popped up. Next week they will be back to full price. Regular releases are also 20% off. Those who had Starscream cancelled and requested Target to notify them when back in stock got an email yesterday that limited quantities were available if you ordered within 24 hours.

Why I am always reading "MTMTE" as "Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles"? :HEADHURTS:

My Target had the bugs on the shelf for regular price last week. I passed for $80, but for $64, I might get them if they're still there. But why is Bombshell gray while the other 2 are purple?

Because they are SS86 and SS86 is all about cartoon colors.

He was a color changer between his two modes:

And he only appeared in the movie in this scene:

I haven't posted in Studio Series since April, that's kinda crazy, guess now's as good a time as any to summarize every leak I've seen from the TFW leaker crew since then. Only one of them has an actual listing that I've seen:

Tra Gen Studio Series Cmdr 86 Rodimus Prime (stated by Jtprime17 to be a new mold, likely to be revealed within this year)
Product Number: G3560

Everything else here is also from the same sources but with no numbers attached yet (and fits fairly neatly into last time when I pointed out we seemed to be missing at least 1 wave of Deluxes and Voyagers):

Tra Gen Studio series Dlx IDW Bumblebee (all hail Megatron)

Tra Gen Studio series Dlx TF1 Bumblebee

Tra Gen Studio Series Dlx TF4 Crosshairs

Tra Gen studio Series Dlx FOC Jetfire

Tra Gen Studio Series VOY FOC Optimus Prime

Tra Gen Studio Series VOY FOC Megatron

Additionally, the contents of the previously-leaked Autobot Cassette Pack have now been stated to be Rewind, Ramhorn (repaint of the Perceptor one), Bolts (green Eject), Cubi (white Steeljaw), and Stinger (new mold scorpion), seemingly based off of Blaster's original concept art cassette lineup for the movie.

It has also been stated that of the 07 Autobot crew that are getting releases next year, seemingly only Ratchet and Optimus will be new (which tracks since they've both graduated upwards in terms of class), Jazz, Bee, and Ironhide are all but confirmed to be repacks or repaints (unless they're new molds with the exact same number of transformation steps as the prior figures).

I can also speak to the MV1/07 Bee if nothing else because the product description and the Hasbro Pulse email for Awakening Bee both erroneously contain remnants of an 07 Bee release instead, complete with Camaro trademarks. #-o

I don't think the "new" Commander Rodimus Prime will be a new mold. The original was pretty much perfect, despite the trailer "controversy". I bet it will just be a repaint of the Kingdom version in anime magenta.

Gotta tell you I like this prime more than I though I would. It's actually a pretty well done update. Improvesthe flipping inside out motif so that things and clearances are muhc nicer than the Og toy nd gives it wrists and ankle tilts.

"Perfect" is a matter of opinion. The WFC Kingdom figure was good at homaging the G1 toy, but the mold would be inaccurate as an SS86 representation. A Rodimus that integrates the entire vehicle (it's NOT a trailer on screen, only the G1 toy was made that way due to lack of engineering) would be as close to perfect as we could get. But I have a feeling Hasbro won't be bothered. They will just give the Kingdom figure a magenta paint job, like you said. Rodimus was only in the movie for the last minute or so anyway. It would be nice to get a totally accurate figure. DX managed it with Carry over 10 years ago, and even Hasbro did the Titanium figure 20 years ago. It can be done.

The rumor is that Studio Series Rodimus Prime will be a new mold. ONCE, in the cartoon, we did see the trailer separate and open. Rodimus was shown to be just an oversized version of Hot Rod's car mode.
