The battle is over and the smoke has cleared. Now ensues the race through the Fortress to procure its secrets first.

What Lies Beneath Event

The Autobots have secured the surface of the Fortress and are now striking for the center, while the Decepticons are making their own significant progress through the ice to reach the middle of the frozen fort before their enemies.

Fight your way into the heart of the Fortress for Alloy, Spark, 3-Star Shards, Nano-frost Battle Boosts and Nano-frost Crystals!

No 4-star shards. The 2,206/2,500 I've had since the first December event is becoming even more painful.

80,000BP completes the event. Even though it's christmas shouldn't be too hard at all.

Oh cool.

I've also just calculated it and if all 100 Prestiges are done - which again, at 80k BP is not too unlikely - that's 2,000 3-star shards. A full 3-star crystal.

So never mind the whole "80K is easy" thing because this is apparently one of those dumb events where you can only get 10 points per battle.

Not that the characters have much personality in this game to begin with (only a handful even get dialog transmissions), but when they do, they stick pretty closely to their classic archetypes. So no religious zealot star saber here.

Christmas has treated me pretty well in regards to Earth Wars! The event has absolutely power-levelled a ton of my guys; 4* Razorclaw and 3* Bludgeon are finally ready for their level 31s so they can start getting off the training wheels.

Meanwhile, a frost crystal was nice enough to give me 4* shards this morning, allowing me to get this dude!

Not my first pick, but certainly not my last; and I DID need more gunners after getting Warriors/Special-units-that-are-basically-Warriors all the time.

And this? I admittedly wasn't expecting to get anything from it; I've got every 2* in the game but Gnaw and of course Deathsaurus. But luck was on my side.

My collection just keeps growing

The wait times on HQ15 seem like a major deterrent to players. I know they want you to buy cybercoins to skip the upgrade but I don't doubt it costs an astronomical amount of coins, which equates to a hefty chunk of real money. How much IS the cost to skip a 2 week upgrade, Burn?

I feel the methods they use to extract money from players are actually too much to the extent it dissuades players from spending. I decided to drop £8 on 2,300 Cyber Coins for four of those Bonecrusher crystals since he's the last 3* constructicon I don't have. I got 2* Duplicates from all four. And two of those weren't Bonecrusher or even any other Constructicon.
Just saying, after that, I'm really not encouraged to spend any more. The RNG system is far too unfair that it feels like any money I drop on it is a waste.

You generally have to buy a LOT of character crystals to get the one you're really after.

SpaceApe are in this for the money, which is fine, they're a business, and given there are people pumping hundreds and even thousands of dollars into this game a week, well ... they're going to keep those people happy, because they'll keep spending.

But HQ15? Casual players will be months before they can field a team to take on a maxed out HQ15. Most will eventually give up. The game in time will go the same way as other freemium TF games.

That's what I'm afraid of. I actually really enjoy this game, a lot more than Legends or Battle Tactics. But the paywall is stupid. A lot of people are looking at Forged to Fight already, in its beta stage, and since the overlap between TF mobile games is usually not very big, I'm a little concerned that this game is going to be gone before I even reach max level.
