I LOVE that cyclonus deco, I wish the sweeps had as much a nice mix of clear plastic.

Speaking of the Sweep, is he named "Sweep"? I was trying to find pics of the back of box before I posted this, but no dicewilliam-james88 wrote:I LOVE that cyclonus deco, I wish the sweeps had as much a nice mix of clear plastic.

The TFP Megatron with FoC Skywarp's weapons on his shoulders is kind of confusing me. I don't mind it being there, but... why is it there?

The Frustration free packaging option means you still get the fancy Platinum box
There is a difference to the standard packaging though, here is a statement from a tfw board member:

GOOD NEWS
The Frustration free packaging option means you still get the fancy Platinum box

There is a difference to the standard packaging though, here is a statement from a tfw board member:
I received my set today, and wanted to clarify what "Frustration-Free Packaging" apparently means in this particular case. The good news is, you DO get the five panel box despite Amazon's indication to contrary. The bad news is it comes in a fitted outer cardboard box with NO PADDING WHATSOEVER. No protection from bumps, dings, crushing or piercing. I have a slightly crushed upper left corner, but I genuinely consider myself lucky that is all the damage that occurred.

This is a comment from TFW2005 responding to that post, which sums up my opinion on the matter:

Yeah and he is very disrespectful and ayone quoting that wishing it was their own words is badly misinformed.
The frustation free packaging is not a replacement to the other amazon packaging. It is a replacement for the nice packaging with twist ties, tape and all that. What is usually is, is just a brown box and when you open it you get your items directly, they are not in their own packaging in the box. The reason you and the rude TFW person didnt get that (nor even tried to udnerstand) is because it is very backwards here. Even though they used frustration free packaging, they still kept the toys in their original box, which shouldnt be the case. But thats good news to colelctors who wanted the box.
Look at the picture below to better udnerstand and not jump to conclusions like others have before you, insulting general consumers:

Huh. Also, when I say that it sums up my opinion, I don't mean the insulting part, but rather the curiosity as to why this is the case.

Good news about that platty One Shall Stand/Fall set having the original packaging. Shame I just made a pretty big dip on plastic crack. Maybe that price will hold for a while or it will go lower?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that Cyclonus set is dippty dope!

thanks for the link willy j, but I only want the targetmaster, not the set. Similarly I just want this set for evil devcon. but would add the scourge and cyclonus to my horde of Galvatron minions, which is pretty vast.

I like the concept of an official Sweep figure, which is something we've on;y seen from Fun Pub to this point. I'm not a fan of the plastic style, although in this case it fits right in with the way they are formed in the movie.

Yeah I really don't understand how that was "frustration free" packaging. Maybe for Amazon in regards to shipping it?
It's a pretty cool set. The deco on OP is nicer than I realized, the blue on the legs has a bit of a dark metallic sheen to it. The clear blue windows look bad, but from talking to Mark Weber at Botcon at least I know what the intention was there, with that being a representation of when he's got part of his abdominal area busted open during that battle.
The red Megatron is actually a neat take, and while I'm sure it's the only way legal would let the toy get out, the touches of yellow make this a fun way to pretend that Transmetal 2 Megatron and G1 Megatron had a child or did the fusion dance or something and out came this guy. This mold has held up extremely well, though I think this is only about the fourth version of it in a decade, yes? Anyway, it's very well put together. OP is surprisingly nice too, especially considering how floppy the AOE release was.
If you don't have these molds, this is a good way to experience them at a decent price point. They're not very definitive versions of Optimus or Megatron, but if you're like me and can live with that you won't be disappointed. I'm going to look at these as a "last shot" version of the molds. While they may not truly be as time progresses, if they are the last time these get brought out then it's a fun stylized way to go out.

Fellow Seibertron Twincast Podcast frontman Scotty P has acquired the Transformers Generations Platinum Edition One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall set available from Amazon and he took the Frustration Free package which saves you 20$. People were wondering what that packaging meant since Amazon showed that this new packaging meant you would only get the toys with no outer box:

However, for this set, you actually do get the coveted Platinum Edition window pane box with gorgeous new art. Scotty P took these photos to show you how the packaging looks like when you take the Frustration Free option for this set on Amazon:

He even gave us a quick written review of what to expect from this set and if it's worth getting or not:

After reading it, I really hope Liokaiser isn't a platinum. I wouldn't want to fork out money like that for him
