Walmart Exclusive Age of the Primes Energon Voyagers found in US

Do you have access to a black light? I want to know if the Autobot figures glow. Because if Optimus glows like crazy under a black light, then I'm interested. But if not, then I'm not interested .

The minions found Megatron and Cybertronic in store, and checked them using a black light penlight. The decepticon figures use purple translucent plastic, which does not seem to glow well under black light. But the Autobot figures use blue translucent plastic - which may and/or may not glow.

Izzit possible for you to check, and maybe post a photo?

I would not say the plastic glows, but it's his paint that gives off a glow.
Like, Titans Returns Sentinel glows under black light.

They plastic does not have a real glowing reaction to the black light.
If you are looking for a figure to pop in a black light environment, this is not it, outside the actual paint apps.

Why can't energon Optimus be more like Studio Series Thundercracker?

I thought of that but didn't think his death would have that much effect, especially on the purchase of an OP that's not only a repaint of a 7-year-old mold (albeit a pretty good one), but is also not in conventional Optimus deco.

Also maybe I'm biased due to my OCD requiring me to purchase both Optimus and Megatron from a given line. If I like 1 and get it, my lizard brain commands I also buy the other one even if it doesn't overly appeal to me.

Also a good point. The big thing about this Megatron that turned me off (and I have collected 6 of the mold so far) is that he can't use his fusion cannon in tank mode. The mold is actually the miner Megatron, and his shoulders prevent the cannon from being put into the arm pegs properly. Annoying. I might still get him for his robot mode.

We're supposed to get a new G2 Megatron in AoTP, correct? Any new info on that, besides just the rumored listing?

Correct. No new info yet available other than he'll be Voyager class.
And there's a combining gimmick rumored to be the feature for several of the Megatons in the line, though no confirmation whether G2 Megs will partake In this rumored combination scheme or what exactly it entails.

People are speculating he may be a retool of Brawl if the combination rumor pans out, but again this is all heavy speculation so have a mountain sized grain of salt handy to take with this.
