The official BotCon 2012 page has updated with the reveal of the "Heroic Decepticon" Soundwave. This is the third figure revealed behind Classics Gigatron and the Evil Autobot Tracks in the "Invasion" box set.

Botcon has confirmed via twitter what many have hoped for since seeing the teaser art for this figure. There will be a headband available for sale in the club store at Botcon. They go on to say that there was no way to mold the headband onto the head to do it justice. Also confirmed via twitter that there have been tweaks to the head mold so Soundwave can look straight ahead. Please enjoy the pics mirrored below or at the Botcon 2012 website.

Well, the headband is good news I guess. Hopefully they won't charge an arm and a leg.

Ugh. I can't stand that head mold. He's been depicted so well in the art too...

Oh well, I guess I'll stick with Music Label white Soundwave

The head looks terrible. So far, there isn't a toy that has been revealed that is "must have" IMO.

Weird that a person like me, who is not a fan of movie toys, would (and have) purchased RotF/DotM deluxes that were leagues better then this.

Cold Slither nod is win, rest is... you know the word...

I'm kinda pissed they didn't reveal Treadshot, as he's been screwing with our brains lately, while Soundwave here was obvious.

I actually like all the molds. Gogatron's design kinda reminds me of the shape of the human Giga, I need a Road Rage, and here, the large head gives him a bigger "rocker" look. I don't like the bumper stickers too much though.

OMG, Epic Fail. When is the Club going to start listening to the real collectors and not the few nerds that work for them(and I know a few from back in the early to mid 90's)that think they rule the roost on knowing ALL things Transformers?? Seriously these toys are not that great this year. Not to mention the Con is backed by Hasbro, we need actual new molds or at least 1 new mold per show. The laziness involved is disgusting. And Ive bought all the sets since there 1st year in, and now when times are tough economically here in the states these jerkoffs are charging $340 to MEMBERS just for the box set alone!!! And that doesnt include the near $30 they will charge to ship it. Which means this set will run close to $400 even IF your a member!! IDK, I guess Im just pissed off but its still rape. They are raping us on these every year. Hell just to get the 3 bagged sets and the lone bagged toy every year runs you another $350-600 on Ebay after the Con. and thats if you get a decent deal.

And the after market of these "Shattered Glass" toys blows!!! Maybe if Hasbro was cool enough to make some characters and throw them in a Universe line it would help the value of these immensely. But who am I kidding its a very good idea, so Hasbro wont do it! Screw the collector right??

This is getting to be a bit pathetic. I think Shattered Glass is meeting its end. And good riddance.

Head mold is ugly, and that mold in general is terrible. They should have used the Perceptor mold....

It was a forced choice though, as he had the SUV form in fiction for years now. Since 2009 to be exact.

That is hard to define...everyone thinks they are "real" collectors and everyone who disagrees with them are not.

Cybershark wrote:we need actual new molds or at least 1 new mold per show.

I don't think this is a realistic expectation. A new mold is a bit much.

Cybershark wrote: Hell just to get the 3 bagged sets and the lone bagged toy every year runs you another $350-600 on Ebay after the Con. and thats if you get a decent deal.

You can't really blame the BotCon d00ds or Hasbro for how much people charge on Ebay.

Not a fan of shattered glass, but I wouldn't mind owning him.

I may save up for this set once I see Evil Ultra Magnus and MetalHawk.

I'm both dissapointed because of the initial hype for CHUG collectors, and relieved that I won't have to put band aids on my wallet.

Terrible! Simply atrocious! They do know that Soundwave's head was the basis for the Decepticon logo right? I mean, that head looks more like Optimus Prime than it does Soundwave! How could the artist get it so right, but the actual mold get it so wrong? Not only that, but it's basically just Ratchet with his red parts molded in blue and with a crappy Not-Soundwave head. Anyone with even limited customizing experience could easily make a better SG Soundwave. Just take a Universe Ratchet figure, paint all his red bits blue, pop the head off a music label or WFC Soundwave figure and replace the Ratchet head with it. Done.

And what's with the logo on the side? Looks like one of the guys from Metalocalypse.

And they're making you BUY the headband? Seriously?! They can't just throw in a little strip of fabric for free? No, they have to extort even more money from collectors in order to "complete" their SG Soundwave?! What kind of **** bullshit is that? :-x

Cybershark wrote: No it is NOT a bit much. They know about the show, the show generates money. Molds can be made for a lot less cheaper these days especially coming from Hasbro. Hasbro makes BANK!! Of course they will "claim" that it would be too expensive BUT they can use the mold at a later time in there own lines as well. Its nowhere near out of the realm of possibility. Also Look at 3rd parties, KO companies etc. That wont fly with me Ive been collecting since the 80's and have been around the block collecting and selling toys for years.

Cybershark wrote: Im not saying to blame them at all. In fact the sets, if purchased roughly 2 weeks after the Con NOT BEFORE OR AFTER can mostly be bought for close to Con prices. I know because I have done it EVERY single Con. Too early you pay high prices, too late you pay high prices because they become scarce. Its about timing. The point is that even at the Con, the toys are seriously OVERPRICED.

ps; dunno how to RE-Quote on here. I dont post often. So I ghetto re-quoted, sorry, lol
