I like change. I don’t want every new iteration of Transformers to be a recycling of G1 or to be beholden to it. I was startled when the Argosy was revealed as Galvatron. As I said I expected something else. I was perhaps expecting a Cybertronian Ship (since Galvatron was reformatted in space, had a Cybertronian form before). But that was Megatron’s atl mode in the first film. What else could a cannon be, a tank obviously, but that was Megatron in ROTF. So really why redo what they already did in the other movies. Sure Megatron was already a truck in DOTM, but really he just hid out the whole time.

I also like that Galvatron and Optimus are relatively equal, meaning they are both trucks this time around. It works well when you can go head to head with your rival. If one can fly then I want both to fly. If one is a truck then it works that both are a truck.

So it works for me. What alt mode would you like Galvatron to have?

Why you think they gonna be equal? I don't think that term exist in Bayformers at all.

Anything Cybertronian, and for sure not yet another truck.

I still think it could be fake: Just like Soundwave in DotM was originally called Breakdown and Shockwave was Blitzwing.

What was the source of those fake names?

Concept Arts. Of course they were relased already after DotM, but this time they could use this to hide Galvatron's true form until the movie's premiere.

Concept arts tend to have preliminary, non-finzalized names.

Hasbro doesn't use fake names when promoting their new products at official media events like Toy Fair. If they say that it's Galvatron at Toy Fair, then it's Galvatron.

So which would you like to see? Megatron surviving DoTM and being rebuilt into Galvatron (both having truck modes and big-ass cannons) or Galvatron being a totally new and unrelated-to-Megatron character?

Considering they both have Earth-based Truck as Alt-Mode, it is safe to say that Galvatron is designed to be upregaded Megatron. If Galvatron would be a new character, he should have a Cybertronian Vechicale Alt-Mode (and not a Earth Truck for sure).

Unoftunetly, considering that Bay really seems to hate Megatron, it could be later changed.

Personally, either or would be alright with me. As long as they don't pull the "Oh, I've been killed, but I'm going to defy the laws of life and be reanimated again!" schtick... again. >:oP

I fail to see how the altmode matters all that much in determining Galvatron's identity.

Well, I don't buy possibility that Galvatron is newcoming Decepticon leader that decide to scan Earth Vechciale mode without ability to fly without beign forced to do it. He is turned into truck, because it's Megatron's body after rebuild. Megatron in DotM was Truck...

Plus we must remember that like in said in Predacon's Rising plot speculation, Megatron isn't only a character, he is also a Icon. He is just too popular and too important because marketing reasons. Hasbro don't let anyone to just kill Megatron's for real unless it's real over. After all, they have to sell toys to die hard fans. And his death scene was too terrible...

What does flying have to do with anything?

I'm gunna kinda miss him, too. Never liked his awkward robot mode, but goddamn, his personality was Generation One-incarnate!

Not really. This Starscream was completely subservient, whereas G1 'Scream was vicious and backstabby. This one was Megatron's lapdog. Just as stupid, but faithful.

Which is why I liked this Starscream. He knew his place and it worked.

If Megatron is (at least at this moment) returning as Galvatron, why Starscream can't return as Cyclonus?

Whoa. Wait a sec. From what we know so far, Galvatron is his own new character in this film. Megatron's head is on display in a shipping crate. They aren't one and the same.

I can't agree: By 17.03.2014 there is no reason to belive that Galvatron is a separate character, while his alt-mode, fusion canon and Megatron's Head floating around, we have stronger arguments to belive that Megatron and Galvatron are one.

I think Galvatron is possibly a "Copy" of Megatron. They may have studied his body and came up with this form. They may have even found a way to download his memories. I think his truck form is awesome.I also hope he rebels against his human masters, and joins up with Prime and fights Lockdown. Then they can continue the war at a later date. :michaelbay:
This movie may be about Transformers against humans.Nothing more. That'd be fine by me.Change of pace.
