Thanks to theToys Alliance Facebook page, we now have images of their upcoming MAS-01 Optimus Prime figure! This figure is set to stand 48cm (about 18 inches) tall, features 72 points of articulation, including individual finger movement, an opening matrix chamber with a light-up matrix of leadership, and glowing robot eyes! This figure is due out in the 2nd quarter of 2016. No price point has been set yet, but the price is said to be "suitable for all collectors."

Check out the mirrored images below of the box art, done by IDW artist Andrew Griffith, as well as some grey prototype images and let us know what you think of this upcoming Optimus Prime in the comments section below!

In a world where they have ridiculously accurate, awesome, AND TRANSFORMING G1 Optimus Primes (for eg see 3rd party Weijiang's MPP 10 - upsized MP10) I seriously do not understand who would even consider manufacturing or buying a non-transforming one. I am sincerely puzzled.

I think the appeal comes in having more articulation in bot mode. Pretty cool IMHO even though I don't collect TFs like this.

I can understand articulated, highly detailed, on transformable TF figures for the movieverse. Those designs CANT possibly transform in real life while being 100% movie accurate. However, what's the point of G1 figures? Especially Optimus Prime, where MP-01 and MP-10 exist and they are perfect in every ways, AND transform?

Exactly. But apparently, these things do have a market, or Ultimetal OP would have been the first and last of his kind.

Still, I wish they'd try for a more creative G1 aesthetic than to keep following the MP-10 design. At least Prime-1 Studios had the good sense to hire Josh Nizzi.

Please. No more G1 Primes. I'm bored of it. Its not like any of these are even animation-model accurate, either.

Earlier this year in February and March, we reported on new highly poseable figures from Toys Alliance: MAS-01 Optimus and Teppeki Gokin Optimus Prime. At TF Nation, this week-end, all these licensed toys were further shown along with a Megatron silhouette teaser.

MAS-01 Optimus Prime is set to stand 48cm (about 18 inches) tall, features 72 points of articulation, including individual finger movement, an opening matrix chamber with a light-up matrix of leadership, and glowing robot eyes. Teppeki Gokin Optimus Prime is a FoC style Optimus Prime and still at the prototype stage as can be seen below.

...................What size class is that Prime considered and does it transform?

He really does not fit in any size class. Though at 18" tall he should be somewhere between Supreme and Titan class. Same size as Combiner Wars Devastator. But the price is bound to be much more than any size class.

And no, neither one transforms.

Unclassable and no transformation. It's a posable statue. When a 3p company whant to make a transformers robot with the official licence, one condition to have that licence is the thing must NOT transform. Only Hasbro or Takara can make an official Transformers that transform. So instead, the 3p company just go nut with the robot. Consider this like an official TF toothbrush or boxer shorts. A very, very expensive and very, very premium one.

I can think of some licensed Transformers Products that Transform.

Fast food toys, the Pen-Optimus seems to be some sort of license.
There was also a kids computer that sort of transformed and various DVD cases.

But it's pretty obvious that a small design change to the chest/back and that FOC Optimus could easily Transform.

The fast food toys ARE Takara/Hasbro products. So they count as actual Transformers.

And modding that FOC posable statue to transform? Oh yes, very doable. As long one have the cash and skills to do it.

We knew from TFNation 2016 that Toys Alliance were working on a second giant non-transforming figure, after their Optimus Prime - as covered here - but we now also have the company's official Facebook page sending out another teaser for their upcoming MAS-02 Megatron! Check it out below.

I'd only consider these if I tripped over them second hand very very cheap - as they are nice enough figures - but nothing I'd need to chase for a premium price when similar (multiple) options exist that do actually transform. But articulation is a gimmick of sorts so some might enjoy them for that reason - and some Optimus' do get messed about design wise in some of the detail (like the side windows) by the requirement to turn them into a truck.

I've held off on getting MP Megatron due to it's QC issues and the complicated transformation. If a transformation is too complicated, I usually just pick one form that's best and stick with that. And with Megatron? Frankly, it's the robot mode you want to stick with rather than the pistol. And if I'm going to pay a ton of mortal 'smackers' for a high-end Megatron figure that I'm just going to leave in robot mode, then I'd rather save up and get one that's specifically designed to look awesome in robot mode.

Therefore I eagerly anticipate the unleashment of MAS Megatron.

That was my thought as well, but... he's probably going to be double the size of MP10 Optimus Prime, so... for my purposes, that'd look pretty strange.
