they were re-absorbed when hmw was dying because there weren't enough players for 4 factions.

Quiet you'll trigger Psych!

As I remember it 2 more factions caused a lot of logistical problems with the game.

Part of it was not having enough players... If we didn't then we sure don't now.

It's all moot anyway. It can't be done without a programmer. Burn can't even switch people between the two existing factions right now.

And if I remember correctly, since it was partially during my earlier time, wasn't there also a problem with one of the A/D factions almost refusing to have anyone transfer to a P/M faction because they were already outnumbered at the time?

I never understood this whole issue about being out numbered.. that's War. Sometimes the winning side isn't the one with the most advance tech just the one with the most disposable fodder :-D

It’s too bad we aren’t able to switch factions. It would help to balance out the numbers. I transfered over to the maximals with a couple other cons to try to even it out. We were still ridiculously outnumbered, but it was glorious for the higher levels. Naturally not so much for the lowers though

Yeah, this seems correct, not very many switched factions and lots of bugs.
"If" there were a programmer, maybe drone allies could be in certain missions. Or Maximals and Predicons could have temporary alliances with each faction.
I think it did help in the Arena though...

If by 'a lot' you mean an imperial ****ton of them, then you'd be close. Why he didn't just make them sub-categories of the normal factions is beyond me, or at the very least allow them to mix in the missions. :MAXIMAL:

Trying to balance the mission generation weighting was near impossible, it just spat out too many :MAXIMAL:

I was never a fan of 4 factions, there just weren't enough players for it. The implementation just didn't work.

It's a shame really as Beast Wars was awesome.

Ooooo, good to know. Alt rotation just happened, and I was disappointed that all the animals look like boogers for the alt mode I wanted. I'll try the rabbit out! He's rare, but he's there. Now I just need to steal the name "Stampy" before Bun-Bun finds out! :KREMZEEK:
