The other Headrobots product showcased at Victoria's 9th Ultimate Hobby & Toy Fair hosted by Cherry Bomb Toys was Darksol. This upgrade kit is meant for Mindwipe, the Voyager class figure released in the Revenge of the Fallen toyline.

Much like Tauros, Darksol is still early in the prototype stage, and will turn Mindwipe more into his G1 self. The kit will feature a new head, chest, feet, shoulder cannons, cape and other accessories. If you think the cape looks like a piece of cloth, well it actually is. The actual cape that is to come out with the kit will be more refined and aesthetically pleasing.

With the Darksol upgrade, Mindwipe will still be capable of housing Skystalker. Whether or not Skystalker will receive his own accesories still has yet to be determined.

Probably not going to use the cape, but everything else is looking good.

The only thing that could make this better is if the cape has a collar and it comes with a Dracula medallion!

And Robot Christopher Lee would be complete.

well, they did go out of their way to let us know it was still happening once before, so I'll assume they aren't going to pull the plug. I guess like Protector it's been shifted to the background while they're all in on these projects.

Thanks for the photos, Blurrz. It's good to have some detailed shots after the initial teasers. I'm still onboard with this, but I'll probably wait until they're closer to the finished product before hunting down Mindwipe.

I love everything except the cape. It looks like a bathroom towel.

You never read news posts, do you? And change your signature, it's against the rules.

Darksol is still looking pretty good. I'll hold off further judgement until i see something in color. Hopefully, it won't take 6 months to see.. I really hope Skystalker gets some love though.

Can someone explain the need for the cape? Is it from a comic? Or, are they simply relating Mindwipe to a vampire?

From what I was able to understand, the cape is part of a reference to the Nine Demon Generals (who wear a cape) from the obscure Japanese-only Zone continuity. Mindwipe was not one of them, but the first Headrobot's teaser stated that Darksol was the tenth Demon General or something.
Sorry, here on Seibertron there are surely plenty of guys who know better than me.

Cylor has it right officially but it's really because in the cartoons (both US and Japanese) he was played as a Bela Lugosi style Dracula with the thick eastern European accent and the hypnotic eyes. They're playing him up as a classic vampire, not a sparkly one.

Which makes it cool rather than lame. ;)
