Well guess who arrived today :-D That was really quick - nice surprise to put me in a good mood today. I'll probably be back with some thoughts in a few hours!

Yeah sure maybe some of you guys got LG Kup cheaper, or earlier, or whatever - but you know what you didn't get with your LG Kup? A picture of a cute anime girl. I think we all know who got the better deal in the end :P

I was called crazy on here a little while ago for questioning why we hadn't gotten a grey Kup yet. People kept saying how Kup should be teal. Personally, I think this is the definitive version of him so far, especially if you liked his cartoon look over the G1 toy. It looks amazing.

People are assuming that they'll come with targetmasters, I however remain skeptical. Back at the Tokyo toy show silhouettes were shown for Topspin and Perceptor and people said that it looked like they came with drones not targetmasters. Perceptor was obviously correct so unless something changed I'd put my money on the drones.

Bumblebee
Topspin
Overlord
Seaspray
Slugslinger

They also stated that it seemed like Perceptor and Topsin came with the titan amster drones rather than targetmasters, while Bumblebee and Seaspray came with Headmasters (aka Titan Masters).

However the most recently listing revealed the "Targetmaster" prefix for Topspin and Twin Twist, indicating they'll come with new-mold Targetmasters, Peaceman/Peacemaker and Spoil/Spoilsport to be exact as they're the only two of the classic ones left (Windblade comes with Pointech/Pinpointer).

Just wanted to point out that in the original hasbro render, Kup has one of the two panels "assembled" in such a way that the details connect correctly:

Image

Anyways for me, the fact that the panels lines/details can line up perfectly is all the reason I need to know that our end result is not correct. Whether it was asked to be assembled a certain way or not at the factory doesnt matter to me and doesnt change the fact that it could have been assembled in such a way that the details would line up. So I would still call it a misassebly simply judging the finished product. It can be whoever's fault, I dont really care.

But only on one side, it looks like. Check his right leg compared to his left - details line up on his right leg (our left), but still look misaligned on the other. So I guess, whoever assembled the 3D model used two of the same side when adding those panels? The thick plottens...

But we aren't getting a gray Kup. People complained that the gray wasn't accurate and Takara Tomy quickly corrected it. The final figure is a correct dark green, not the incorrect gray.

Sorry, you're still wrong for thinking Kup is supposed to be gray. :-P

Oh hey I ordered from the same store! Glad to hear that delivery is fast which shipping did you choose? I chose SAL Small Packet (Registered) and I'm not sure how long that takes to deliver.

Maybe they're saving Fracas and Nightstick for special redecos of PotP Jazz as Stepper, and of PotP Inferno as Artfire? ;)

Well we (don't) already know that the CW Hot Spot Mold is being used in PotP as Inferno, so why not just use it for Every Firetruck Dude Ever (tm)

Actually, the Hot Spot mold DOES alreadybhave those 5mm pegs on the ladder bucket... i actually could go for a CW Artfire.

Ech. Today we learned that I can't read.

I chose the same shipping method, but since I'm in Australia (which is about a third closer to Japan than the US is) that's probably why it got to me sooner. I'm sure you can expect yours soon though! :D

Video Review of Takara Tomy Transformers Legends LG45 Targetmaster Hot Rod

Once more via fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999, we have another Takara Tomy Transformers Legends video review - this time, featuring the Autobot that almost definitely achieved something: LG45 Targetmaster Hot Rod! Check out the video below, plus some thoughts from Chuck, and let us know what you think in the discussion.

Like Kup, Takara went above and beyond with their release of Hot Rod. Retooling the chest and adding its Targetmaster partner is again the cherry on a tight repaint sundae. Caution should be used pegging the chest into place since cracking may be possible. Highly recommended.

As expected from the multiple in-hand images shown so far, Japanese retail has started carrying the recent offerings in Takara Tomy Transformers Legends line, with LG44 Sharkticon and Targetmasters LG45 Hot Rod and LG46 Kup appearing at a number of stores. Fellow Seibertronian xRotorstormx, currently visiting the country, has sent us images of the figures from Bic Camera store in Shibuya as proof!

They certainly are taking their time to get to BBTS. I only ordered Kup but I might have to snag a sharkticon if they’re available in a couple weeks. I found Scourge in box for cheap on eBay with free shipping so it’d be cool to have the sweep head and their deco as an alpha for my legion of sharkticons I already have. Still not gonna bother with Hot Rodimus. Looks nice but I’ve been heard the issues and POTP is starting in a couple months and that one will do. Though I do love his colors

I'd at least buy Stepper, maybe Artfire too (having the MP really discourages his purchase).

I get it, I really do, but the Million Publishing Stepper and Artfire were so pitch perfect that my desire for any further releases of these characters in a Classics line is gone.

Production Error on Takara Tomy Transformers Legends LG45 Targetmaster Hot Rod

PostPosted: Sat Oct 07, 2017 6:31 am
by Va'al
After our sighting in Japan of the Takara Tomy Transformers Legends figures from yesterday, we have a follow up story focusing on the LG45 Targetmaster Hot Rod toy - in particular, the Titan Master facebackpack, as spotted by site owner Seibertron: the lips have irregular bumps instead of a smooth sculpt!

There's a production run error on the face of legends hot rod. I received two different shipments from separate Japanese retailer. 4 of the 6 I received have a flaw on the lower left lip. There are some noticeable bumps on the lip. The one xRotorstormx sent a pic of also has this problem.

Just an fyi to those looking to buy him. You might have to get a few from different sources to get one that doesn't have the flaw.

Images showing off the issue are included below!

Its Herpes. HotRod shouldn't be so eager with the "hot" or the "rodding" it seems.
