Looks pretty darn cool to me. Wasn't expecting Masterpiece or 3rd party type of complexity. This looks a huge upgrade over the 2007 voyager in loks, shape, detail and of course size and his CGI model is kinda kibbly itself anyways so this is certainly Blackout to me. Still amazed he even gets a brand new leader class toy after 10 years of hoping.

Hey that's pretty good.

I'll buy him and place him in my "personal canon" universe so I can finally have a Blackout among my Decepticon high command, (I would buy him for a movie collection but I missed out on too many figures in the past to actually dedicate myself to a proper movie verse collection)

That's a lot of grey. And before anyone says it's an unpainted prototype look at Scorponok who looks the same as the box art, and blackout has the same tampos in bot and helicopter mode.

Looks the same as me. Just difference from professionally done higher contrast photo for box image and blurry lower contrast phone camera photo. Colours and markings look the same. Real proof comes from when you get to see the figure with your own eyes.

william-james88 wrote:Coming from Weibo, we have what many fans have long been waiting for, a clear image of leader Blackout. We have known of this toy for a while and for a complete list of all the other toys part o the Transformers Studio Series line, you can click here. This is the image of the back of his box which not only gives us an image of Blackout in his robot mode and alt mode but plenty of other details too. We see the Scorponok figure he comes with (again) along with the amount of transformation steps, which is 46. This is odd since previous reports said he was on the simple side and he is not devoid of kibble, with his feet showing obvious alt mode panels. We should also remember that The Last Knight Leader Megatron was said to be 30 steps, and while that may be accurate, he was not overly complex.

We also have a very brief bio which says that Decepticon Blackout shocks human defenses with unstoppable force.

Well I'll be damned. Has Hastak finally learned from the 3rd party market?

Well that leader Blackout looks a lot better than the 2007 voyager version. But that ain’t exactly shootin’ for the moon now, is it..?

That looks awesome! Definitely a much-needed upgrade to the voyager. I swear the helicopter blades for my voyager Blackout are in at least 3 different states at this point.

Gotta love those camera phones how pathetic and bad they take of pictures figure looks ok wait for video review what he's like articulation on blackout knees, thighs, ankles, wrist, neck, maybe waist, hip, elbow, bicep,

Scorponok articulation legs, tail, arms,

The voyager figure is still pretty decent, particularly since it was one of the very first movie figures, a style and aesthetic that took the toy designers some time to figure out to capture that level of complexity and detail into a toy particularly with certain characters (as usual compare 2007 Leader Prime with RotF Leader Prime to see the change but both are good toys in their own way, just the RotF figure is tons more accurate to the actual movie character and the 2007 figure would still have been a great toy if it had released as some kinda upgraded G1 Prime if the movie hadn't existed) and Blackout was a fine figure just disappointly small considering how large he was in the film.

My only beef is the lack of individuated toes... I wish there was a bit more of a carve out, or at least some color contrast. Also, we only see his left 'hand' right? Hoping for some functionality there.

Could just colour in the gaps between toes in black paint or marker pen? But yeah that's the only bit that's bugging me really about the toy but there's almost always something with just about every Transformer figure most of us wish could be better in some way.

Right. Not a dealbreaker by any means, just a comment.

Yeah I get what you mean though. It's like his toes aren't really touching the ground at all, but clearly have chopped panel under them. Rest of the figure looks so good it's just that bit looks like it came from a much simpler figure.

That right there is an amazing Blackout! I am loving the looks of this so far, can't wait for more images!

And the voyager Blackout is still a decent toy. He did a good job for the 2007 engineering times, and he is fun. But this leader figure is looking so very good

More Images of Transformers Studio Series Leader Blackout and Voyagers Brawl and Megatron

With the leak of Studio Series Leader Blackout earlier today, it seems every other image online is coming out of the woodwork. We have an image of Leader Blackout that is the uncropped shot we saw before taken in Shanghai. We then have other images we saw before but clearer. It is the images of voyager Megatron and Brawl but as per the usual case with leaks, the images are still obscured. This time by a black marker (yay). We also get some promotional images for this line.

We learn of the steps for Brawl and Megatron as well. Megatron will be 32 steps while Brawl will be 36 steps. All of these coming from the usual weibo source. For a complete list of all the other toys part o the Transformers Studio Series line, you can click here.

Brawl 'fulfills the evil orders of Megatron'? What if Megatron just needs him to pick up his laundry from the dry-cleaners?

Here's hoping both voyagers are great. I want a larger Brawl to go with my deluxe. And I want a good voyager RotF Megatron to complete my Movie Megatron voyager set, including the alternate universe where Megs won DotM by killing both Optimus and Sentinel

Image

Hoping voyager Screamer is good too. and a Movie Bonecrusher is coming.

I like how the bios relate to the main battle each figure fought in
