Me neither. Fill us in Amelie!

I didnt think Hasbro would ever reissue this guy and thus I bought a G1 version (less equipped but a lot cheaper than this). And there are many fans who are now just willing to move on from G1 and want updated forms, which makes sense since that is what Hasbro has been doing pretty intensively these past 2 years.
But now Hasbro will read these boards (since it is one of their main indication of what this particular market may want), see the low interest, and it will reflect in sales as G1 rereleases ALWAYS do. And they will further make up their minds that there isn't much of a market for G1 rereleases and we lose again.

Sometimes, we are our own worst enemies.

I feel that they can only really draw that conclusion on the big ticket items. When the price tag starts hitting the $200 range, you are naturally dealing with a severely limited market. The smaller, and thus cheaper, G1 reissues have always flown off the shelves. Hasbro should focus on them, and leave the big ticket items for convention specials.

Take that with a grain of salt though. I may be the only person on these boards who, even as a wee child when it was first released, never once had the slightest bit of interest in tripticon. I've always thought he was ridiculous.

It's possible I have the fists swapped on my two Seekers. Maybe the 10s go to G1 Thrust and the 11s go to re-TC. They don't look different. :-?

The QC is fantastic. Strangely enough, the only seekers I had as a child were Dirge and Thrust. It's hard to explain, but these guys feel a little lighter than I remember but of course I'm working from memory of toys I played with 25 years ago. So while they don't feel exactly the same, they do feel fantastic, at very least on par with the other Seeker Reissues I've handled.

I HIGHLY recommend this set ;)^

I wonder if anyone has ever actually used a kitchen digital scale and compared the weights of Re-issues vs G1s. Other people have commented, over the years, about these newer re-issues either having a lighter weight or thinner/hollow feel to them. I really wonder if it's just a psychological/false memory or if there is an actual, measurable difference in mass/weight.

Is the new plastic less dense & lighter, or are we just assigning heft & supposed higher quality to our vintage toys, in the lore of our glittering, rose-tinted, memories? :-?

You're not the only one. I have him because he was given to me. I appreciate him now, but my 11 year old gripe was, "Where's his stinkin' robot mode?!?!"

I was a bit hasty with my previous post, the #11 fists are a valid variant and belong to reissue molds, especially the later ones like TRU Dirge.

Hey Hasbro- don't listen to these people! G1 reissues are a fantastic idea, particularly reissues of Japanese G1 stuff that never made itto the US/UK. Victory, Return of Convoy and Masterforce are great places to start!

You need to stop by movie topics of toys people are saying how they want transformers movie designs be more same boring blocky g1 versions of them selfs movie series is modern look how they would today g1 is past for those who want complete set considering outrage prices for used g1 thrust that comes with u all accessories and without box, instructions this is cheap good set price to buy trio seekers cheapest price I saw thrust g1 was 65.00 not complete.

I will say this I would have saved my money ten years ago and saved for trypticon reissue then get original version but waiting for price on reissue of trypticon Iay have saved some cash getting original until price shows up for reissue it is unknown to say at
Moment

Description:

1. Minute degradation. Cockpit bubble a bit lose. Robot faces are no longer glossy but the rest of the body are 1980s glossy smooth
2. Wing decals are now manually applied using the silvery type decal
3. Thrust's missiles. There seems to be some compromises in order to sell him with its 1980 thin design. What is it? The missile launchers have been remolded gutting out the spring and the switches. And the rust red ring that used to be found on the launcher is now black. The gutting is a fair compromise :-(
4. Ramjet's jet mode really looks bad@ss compared to the henkei version.
5. The rubber tires melted  (for those who can't get it, for shame if you are a true G1 connoisseur) :-B

What about Dirge? I have the TRU reissue and that didn't have working launchers. The missile unit was one molded piece like the original toy

Virtually the same as the TRU re-issue, the original Dirge and Ramjet didn't have working weapons. Own that one too. The wing decal are manually attached. Also, the main decals stick properly unlike the TRU reissues back in2004........those could barely stay attached.

Are the eye decals pre-applied?

You know what? :BOOM: All the modern developments of toy engineering and computerized precision painting (Tomy did it for Encore Meister) but they (Tomy/Hasbro) couldn't do the same for the Seekers :BANG_HEAD: For my Seekers, I cut the eye decals up and apply them using a sharp tooth pick. Also to note, the decal printing details are a bit blurred in my version.

Who would have guessed that making G2 Optimus and MP Soundwave in vomit puke colors and selling them DOUBLE the price of what they should have gone for was going to be a failure? Who would have thought selling the Insecticons pack at 33% more than any sane price would make them also shelfwarm?

Eh?

This I will accept for a g1 reissue. But if it's a character like Trypticon, Unicron or even the sharkticons, we'd need an up to date figure.

Your post is a bit off tangent as this is the Platinum re-issues G1 fig release topic.

Unicron was given the 1986 Movie head. Sharkticons? They're fat and stupid and bricks. That's what the Platinum series is for. G1 and G2 re-issues.

Trypticon, I feel is a bit of a trial baloon for the domestic US market (Asian market will sell out especially in China where the Chinese are just loco over TFs). Hopefully this sells well enough to green light a possible Titan version.

Hasbro should shoot the jokers who greenlighted the vomit colored versions in the butt  As for the Insecticons, it sold for a premium because they included a high octane premium unleaded Energon cubes

Hasbro Transformers Platinum Edition G1 Reissue Trypticon: Electronics Intact!

Hot off the heels of yesterdays Trypticon In-Box shots, we can now see the back of the box including his Bio (once again courtesy of Cybertron Philippines). But the biggest nugget of info is that this new shots confirms that his original Electronic features are intact! Have a read below, and further down is Trypticon is all his triple changing glory.

Typticon is the ultimate Decepticon weapon, capable of converting between three forms, each more massive than the last. Whether in T-Rex mode, city mode, or battle station mode, his goal remains the same: total destruction of the Autobots.

Ya know, unless it's the picture quality, they have changed the color a little. All the blue bits, including the little guy, were originally purple.

Maybe men see purple, and women see blue.

The more I see Triptycon, the more I'm tempted. Still. If the US price is 200$, I just cant imagine what the Canadian price will be. Especially if it's TrU who sell it.
