Yeah, the differences are minimal, but noticeable went placed side-by-side (though, the Titan Master's deco is completely different).

I think Transfans rank second only to Star Wars fans for whiny-ness if things aren't EXACTLY the way they should be...aka not G1 enough.

I agree. This looks like it's going to be a fun figure. And honestly, the price point isn't that far off based on its size. One figure is pretty much Commander class sized and the other is Leader class sized...PLUS you get a small deluxe. So Commander at $80, Leader at $55, and deluxe at $25. The total is is $160 and we invested $190. That's perfect...the extra is for custom packaging.

Nope. Third. G.I. Joe fans are far worse than Transformers fans, and it makes sense to a degree. Marvel Legends fans are probably about even.
What about Sonic fans? Or Thomas fans? ;)

(Though, the latter's constant complaints are arguably justified.)

Hot Wheels and Nerf fans are the worst by a long, long mile.

One thing I forgot to mention is the leg storage for the blade reminded me of something, another toy that shared some design cues from Star Saber.

King Exkiser.

I can see Takara retooling Star Saber into a new modern King Exkiser.

Can they though? Bandai owns the BRAVE series, I think they might have something to say about it

Bandai has the rights to the animation designs because they own Sunrise. Takara, who created the Brave series, still has the rights to their toys. Unfortunately, the last time they tried anything Brave it didn't sell well.

Having the animation rights alone doesn't allow Bandai to make toys and Takara Tomy would never let Bandai have the toy license if they still had those rights. When Bandai bought Sunrise Takara relinquished their rights to the franchise.

Notice most of these Brave series models and toys released by Bandai. More importantly, none of them by TT.

Really, I was under the impression Bandai has owned Sunrise for a while, and during that time Takara did release new Brave product. Does this mean that Takara can never reissue the original toys?

Not without a reference to their media that Bandai owns... btw They're no longer officially called "Sunrise"; they're now Bandai Namco Filmworks, with Sunrise as a brand name.

Sigh, I should've been happy with what I have now, now I have no choice.

It's Bandai that's doing all Brave toy production now, and the animation as a base is all they need (I suspect Takara still owns the original molds). For now outside of SoC GaoGaiGar they're limiting it to the Super Minipla aka Shokugan Model Project candy kits. The GaoGaiGar, Fighbird and Dagwon series have seen kits released, some with alternate anime-accurate parts for swapping out (which the GGG bots are really guilty of).

I know all about this, big fan of Brave and I have a few kits. Just thought Takara still had some skin in the game. Now there's really no excuse for that blade leg storage.

The box is smaller than I expected so storing my spare and the empty box will not be an hassle.

Also, man, that's a really PREMIUM set!

I'm so excited to get these guys in hand. The box is just so nicely done and kinda reminds me of Revoltech boxes with how it stores all the accessories amd figures. I kinda hope we get a clamshell tray so the figures can be easily put back in the box, but if we don't it's no big deal

Ngl, I had a huge dopey grin through the whole video. Closer to finally getting it in my hands for one, and two, it's the kind of over the top in a good way packaging you would expect from..
Well sdcc lol. I feel like a little kid waiting for his birthday because he already knows his parents got him the toy he wanted, but he still has to wait to get it.

Doubtful. One person here mentioned it possibly. I think you underestimate the popularity of this item. I think very few will be tossing the packaging on this one.

That may be true for run-of-the-mill toys.

But here, it's a highly premium product that is meant for hardcore collectors. Many will never even open the box. And for those who open it, NO ONE will dare throwing out the packaging.

So yeah. I think your "most" are either made up, or you're not a backer nor are used to buy premium collector things.

I would've preferred the money for the packaging go to making Star Saber better.

I mean, in 20 years the box alone will be worth something, especially if people are throwing them away. ;)

I think you missed the first comment on this page! I’m mainly joking my entire attic is full of masterpiece boxes and exclusive repaint figures so this reveal is amazing. You’re right I passed on this figure but I did back Unicron so I’m still a little salty about that box. I’m shocked they went this far I don’t think anyone expected this much and I’m super happy it seems they’re trying to make up for the lackluster Unicron box he even mentions that in the presentation. And I think this pretty much guarantees a Deathsaurus in the future so congratulations to everyone that backed him this will skyrocket in the aftermarket so no box recycling!
