Is it THAT hard to create a likeness of Megatron that doesn't suck? They didn't have to have any transformation to consider yet it's still looks terrible!

Most G1 designs always sucked ball bearings anyway, Megatron's in particular. They were basically stacks of cardboard boxes, and Megatron didn't even look like he transformed into anything. Also, the leader of the Decepticons transforming into a freakin' handgun is the stupidest idea ever. I mean, that's like making an Autobot who transforms into a microscope on tank treads...wait a minute...
Maybe they've realized that the "collector" fanbase will never be satisfied and will hate their products if as much as a single detail on them isn't accurate to the old cartoon (even if the character isn't even from the old cartoon) and are now targeting a much less unpleasable fanbase (that is to say, kids). Or maybe these are a tribute to sofubi/Jumbo Machniders.

Well, they're a heck of a lot better than the TF Prime or AOE ones. If it weren't for the ugly head on his shoulders, I'd perhaps consider buying Megatron on a really good sale or clearance. I believe the Rescue Bot ones are still the best so far.

Hmmmmm... let me see what this not-so-fine-print says...
Holy sh**balls! It reads "Ages 4+" WOW, I totally did not see that one coming!
And yet we have supposedly grown men bitching about these things.

These are a bit better than the oversized PVC KO that I have of Optimus and Megatron from the days of the blind-boxed SCF PVCs from Japan.

SDCC 2013 Titan Guardians Found at Big Lots for 5$ each

Back in May 2014, it was suspected that the figures from the
SDCC 2013 Titan Guardians set would see a retail release and be sold individually. Almost a year later, we now know this to be true thanks to fellow TF fan Half Shell who found these at Big Lots for 5$ per figure. He has provided photos proving his purchase. While he only purchased Megatron, the figures available are Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee and Soundwave.
These figures have been available online and can still be found at
Amazon.com and the
Seibertron store.

To the person who found them at retail: what's under the red sticker on the tag?

That person is not on this board. I am assuming it's Grimlock since he was the only one absent from the line up when mass retail was first announced.

I bought a G1 Titan Optimus a while back and was curious about what was under that sticker. To my surprise, it listed not only Grimlock's name, but Wheeljack! If this series continued like the Heroes of Cybertron/SCF PVC type figures, they'd be tempting. I thought that the SDCC set versions would be somehow better or shinier than the regular release figures, but they look identical to me. They're hollow, non-transforming rubbery toys, with limited-articulation, but they're really OK figures to me, and I don't hate them one bit; being G1 helps a lot!

They never made a G1 Bumblebee or Shockwave either and the tags were made for the retail versions and aren't the same as the Beast Hunters tags. I'm guessing at some point Hasbro had intended to do a series two with G1 versions of Bumblebee, Grimlock, Shockwave, and Wheeljack, and left the tag with Bee and Shockwave still listed because of the Beast Hunters figures.

He wrote back the following:
It says grimlock and wheeljack under the tag. Not sure why they covered the names up.

Found all 4 at the local Big Lots in Lenoir, NC. They had several sets. My wife picked them up for me this evening and she said they still had 3 or 4 complete sets left. They are OP, Megs, SS and SW, like reported. Also can confirm the writing under the tag, as Grimlock and Wheeljack. They are simple but pretty cool for what they are, um, basically dust collectors!

just joking! My only disappointment with them would be that smirk on SS's face, and Megatron's nose, which looks like OP must of broke it several thousand times for it to be so flat and yet so wide. It looks like an elongated hexagon stuck to his face!

Oh, well!

These things have been sold at Kohl's for over a year. I got one for my 2 year old niece cause I rarely see her, as something to remind her of me when she gets older. They were 7.99 I think.

SDCC 2013 Exclusive Transformers Titan Guardians Found at Walmart Canada

You have not read that wrong. The non transforming Transformers Titan Guardian figures, based on G1 characters models were at first
SDCC exclusives and came in a box set at the 2013 show. Two years later, these same toys recieved an individual
release at Big Lots, for $5 USD each. And 5 years after first appearing at SDCC, these have now reach Walmart Canada as Walmart exclusives.
An extra wrinkle is that the selection appearing at Walmart Canada is a mix of the G1 toys which were at first SDCC exclusives and the Prime toys. Megatron, Starscream, Optimus and Soundwave are from the G1 line while Shockwave and Bumblebee are from the Prime (Beast Hunters) line. This information was gathered from a few sigthings and the images below come from fellow Seibertronian Sunstar. This fan already owns the SDCC version and commented on the differences:
Here we have SDCC Starscream on the right hand side and walmart ex on the left hand side. they are absolutely identical - with two exceptions as far as I can tell. The hole in the back from the placement of the label for walmarts and the gold canopy seems more gold on the SDCC than on the Walmart variant (seems more bronze).
