He's up everywhere! This is good news! When Red Alert+ came out he was an exclusive limited release (TakaraTomy Mall?) and now this fella is a standard release! Rejoice!

Huh? I don't recall them being hindered in the slightest.

Ooohhhh.... turn UP.... my bad.

I'm pretty sure he can look up, very very slightly. So slight that it might as well not be there

Yeah, it's very minimal. I figured it out, a little force was necessary for the first couple of times.

I do appreciate the ab crunch that someone discovered, already putting it to use --

The blue windows is almost worth the price of double dipping alone. Yummy.

Still from Alfes2010, the Twitter toy blogger and personality behind the Snakas blog in Japan, we have some in-hand images of the umpteenth iteration of the Lambor / Sideswipe mold from the Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece line: MP-12+, the Anime Color Edition!

The differences with the original release are slight, but they are significant for those who are looking for a more screen-accurate rendition of their plastic incarnation - rather than the original toy's homage in the previous Masterpiece toy (galleries respectively here and here), as we get blue windows, metal grey parts replaced with black and white paint, and different shades of red and white overall, in addition to the piledrivers and gun accessories, with three versions of the former (though no chrome). You can check out the images below!

The most noticeable changes, for me, are the face and the feet. Having those as white vs. silver really make the difference for me.

Thanks to Instagram user dai_xp - and via fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath - we have a closer and better look at the differences between the first release of the Takara Tomy Masterpiece MP-12 Lambor, aka Sideswipe, to you and me, and the latest release in the same line of the MP-12+ version, with cartoon accurate deco rather than the toy-striving one preceding it.

The most noticeable changes, you will see in the images mirrored below, are the face and the feet, which swap out the silver for the white and black, plus the blue shade to the windows, and some tweaks to the various firing accessories that come with the figure. All are also reflected on the packaging, shown below. Check it out, and let us know if you will be however-many-dipping with this mold again in this new paintjob!

Additionally, the joints (elbows, hips) are also white for a more streamlined look.

The Autobot insignia is bigger; perhaps to make the chest look slimmer in comparison?

The black stripes and Lamborghini emblem were stripped off. The wing mirrors and frames of the side windows have been painted red. Wheels are grey (because in the cartoon his rear tires become grey in robot-mode.)

The rear bumper is now black to make the legs more streamlined in robot-mode.

And mold-wise the eyes are bigger like on Tigertrack and the Asian reissue.

Even if this is only used just for fans who missed out on the original version and with Sunstreaker coming soon, I feel that the changes seem negligible for the most part. It's like the insignia-less rerelease.

Neato, but no reason to buy another if you have the original.
