Gotta say, the original convention photos didnt do this justice (and the black background didnt hide anything in these images as far as I`m concerned), and while I was always going to get this set (combiners are the best gimmick ever as far as the toys go) these images completely sold it for me! Never had the original so while it won`t be as nostalgic for me as Devastator, it will still be amazing, and look great next to Devastator, Poseidon, and Warbotron Bruticus.

Tantrum, Headstrong, and Rampage look like they either can't or only barely can move their legs in beast mode.

they should have articulation at the knees? the hip/shoulders in beast mode are a bit of a wash though.... Oddly enough I think that's pretty close to the G1 articulation.... but at least the robot modes are a bit more dynamic.

yeah the front legs are the robot arms, so they should go 90-ish degrees back... but the shoulders are frozen (molding in place) I'm not sure of the back hips rotate (due to a transformation joint... more than intention).... but again should hinge at the knee/ankle (fold up voltron style)

30+ years of advancements in engineering... and they can now move slightly more of their legs. WEEEEEEE... :P

The master-stroke... maybe SDCC Predaking will come with a die-cast sword SO HEAVY he won't be able to hold it ;)

Why isn't there a SDCC version anyway? Hb did it for Metroplex and Devastator. PK isn't worth it? :???:

Do we know there isn't an SDCC Predaking yet? I mean granted it's all speculation either way, but if my info is correct SDCC 2018 isn't for another two months or so, and we have no idea at this point what (if any) Transformers-brand exclusives we'll be getting then.

No leaks? Nothing. Also, could this be the result of the unification business model? No more special Titans editions? Trypticon didn't have any. :(

SDCC Devastator was revealed May 21st. Primitive Optimus (not a Titan, but last year's "big" SDCC exclusive) was revealed June 3rd. I think we've still got some time to go before we can assume that a lack of word means a lack of toy.

I doubt the HasTak unification would affect SDCC exclusives, of all things, either. I mean clearly the exclusive game in general is still going strong this year, and I don't see any reason why a difference to the toys Takara puts out (which is really what the unification mostly is) would affect whether Titans get SDCC exclusives. Sure Trypticon didn't get one last year, but a single exception does not a new pattern make. Have hope! :D

No offence but you seem to be taking some of the other users criticisms personally. Just because others don't like these figures shouldn't have an effect on if you like them or not.

I might be getting burned out with some of the negativity in some of my other fandom forums, and it might be bleeding over here. So thanks for checking me on that. I'll try to be more mindful. But you're right at the end of the day. Whether I enjoy Predaking (and I intend do) really doesn't matter at all if *anyone* else buys him.

In many ways I'm just happy to be seeing an official new version at all. I'd always wanted the original growing up (eventually got the re-release) and as much as I appreciate the G1 for what it is.... in a post Beast Wars world (ball joints) it makes it hard to enjoy the older figures from an interaction standpoint.

I suppose another reason why I'm fearful of (sometimes quite valid) critisims with Transformers... I've seen the brand die off twice in my lifetime, combined with Toys R Us folding, cost-cutting/design choices with much of the other action figure liness (dropping to *basic* articuation) I wonder if sometime toys are a bit of a dying breed.

No worries ;)^ I've felt that way a few times, and I know that constant negativity can get you down but we've got to persist after all its only opinions at the end of the day :-) I hope you have lots of fun with this guy (if I get lucky and see him in symths at some point, I may get him as well lol, if I survive being murdered by my better half, I will have fun as well )

Video Review of Transformers Power of the Primes Predacons

Courtesy of Singaporean robot fan Daniel Oon, and toy reviewer on YouTube Kevin Liu, we have a full look in Chinese at an early acquisition of the Titan class figure from the Transformers Power of the Primes toyline for 2018: Predaking!

In the video, embedded below for your viewing convenience, we get a look at the Predacon team as their individual members - Razorclaw, Torox, Headstrong, Rampage and Divebomb - in both robot and beast mode, as the fully combined mode of the Voyager sized Predacons, Predaking himself, will be coming in part two shortly - so stay tuned to find out. Take a look for now, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub discussion boards!

Always a good reviewer. and YES! a white background.

I'm just gonna say, this titan seriously outshines Devastator by individual bots on so many levels. yeah sure, it's one fewer bot... but that is a weak defense (looking at you Fortmax)

I'll definitely be getting this. Still, have to reserve judgement till I can check out how odd and bulky those big black backpacks are. It's quite a dew-claw for the design. Really surprised it made it to release with that in the design... instead of having them detach into big missile batteries or... well... something else.

That's going to be quite a bit of sticker work. Looks good, and Razorclaw is rather creative on how they do the feet. Also... if Divebomb is Hun-Gurr sized... Headstrong and Tantrum must be HUGE!!!

I'm not sure how much it would've affected the stability of Predaking, but yeah, having the option to unclip the backpacks would've gone a long way, even if they didn't do anything when removed.

That Waist pivot does look somewhat flimsy though.

Thats unfortinate the right arm doesnt seem to have the ratchet. If that left hand falling ofd is a sign of a bad connection, well crap. But I have a fww CW figures with the same problem.

Aren't those black bits razorclaw's legs? I suppose we'll have to wait till more in hand pics and of reviews where it's transformed correctly.

Back from /toy/, are you? Still, that tiny widdle joint is very worrying. I bet there's a 3P upgrade kit already in the work that is so extensive, it will cost as much as the whole Predaking set itself. #-o
