In other words, it's a Repugnus that looks like Repugnus.

But this one is smiling! Must be in a good mood.
But, G1-based Repugnuses were always grinning happily in monster mode.

Yeah, that right there. Look at that cheery boy, how can one not like that grin? :-D

Ah the original guy I thought was just grinning because he was about to gut someone.

I was thinking that Cyberverse here was just happy in general like he was having a great day.

For Repugnus, gutting someone is the definition of having a great day. :D

Good evening all! It has been reported that a Cyberverse 1-Step Repugnus figure has been sighted in the wild at U.S. retail! This comes to us from Markie Dark @Cheetimus on Twitter, and was sighted at a Target in California as shown in the images below.

Repugnus is one of the original three Monsterbots from the G1 era of Transformers and has now gotten the Cyberverse treatment, complete with adorable little smiley monster mode and a robot mode with some pretty decent arms! Get out there and best of luck on the hunt! The 1-Step Changers can usually be acquired for under the $10 dollar mark so definitely easy on the wallet!

Have you been looking to add this guy to your collection or already have him in hand? Let us know what you think down below and as always stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your Transformers needs!

Bot mode does look pretty decent for a 1 step. Might look good with RID Twinferno even if he does end up being shorter than a Warrior.

I'm planning to get him and Whirl, they both look good and I want to support these characters with so few toys. Plus, he looks pretty dang fun! And Emerje, I think he will go good with Twinferno as well, that would make a great pair

I dont get it, they are as big as the other deluxes on the shelf and as big as deluxes from past lines like Prime.

carytheone wrote:Are they are using the BAF option as a feeler for more BAFs or a full release of Maccadam? And will the strength/quality of the actual bots give a false positive?

Someone had posted another idea which I feel may be closer to reality. This bonus is instead done to ease people into this higher price point, which is new to the line, and to Transformers cartoon lines in general. We both already know that parts and complexity wise, these deluxes have as much going on as Siege, a line that doesn't come with BAF and that people are still willingly buying. But since this is marketed for a different audience, Hasbro has to signal that there is more here than there was before as obviously as possible and a BAF does that. Hence why it's also not at all on par with Marvel legends BAFs, it's just for show. And once parents have been acclimated to this new price point on the shelves for this line, the BAF will be removed.

Also, while most know that Transformers toys are made to attract parents first and fans second, there are still people who sometime think the world revolves around fans, so here is some nice little marketing reminding people who Hasbro is truly targeting with their toys: https://www.facebook.com/transformers/p ... =3&theater

Entertainment Earth updated their listing for this wave two release, giving us our first look at Hot Rod in the process. Sadly though, at the moment, this is the only picture they've uploaded for this wave, meaning we have a little bit longer to wait till we see the true mystery of the second wave, Thunder Howl...

That's one red Rod.

Those flame blast effects look pretty sweet though.

It's lagniappe.
Got it ;)^

So I take we shouldn't expect to see BAF make a return?

Should we expect the quality of Cyberverse figures to continue to rise? Or is this line coming to the end of it's life cycle?

I am unreasonable excited to see Hot Rod with his flame accessories attached. He looks decent! could use more paint, but he looks pretty good overall

Oof, that Deluxe Hot Rod is very lacking in paint or other colors. I was hoping they'd be able to budget enough into this figure to make him look closer to his onscreen look:

As with the other figures, that is not a $20 looking figure, shame, they've got great designs, and are finally getting some complexity to them, but they just are not $20 figures >:oP

I dunno, I would say I'm finding while they dont look great comparatively, they do feel great to transform and they've grown on me. If they ditched the BAF element and went for better paint (and QC) I wouldn't have a single complaint. Not that I hate the BAF mind you but it's meh quality at best.

Considering some of the lack of color issue on this figure could have been settled with different color plastics, it is a bit disappointing. His thighs could have been done in yellow to better match the screen appearance, and it looks like his spoiler is red also which could have been just different plastic.

Video Review Of Transformers Cyberverse One-Step Changer Repungus

Greetings Seibertronians! As a break from all the Wonder Festival pictures, fellow Seibertron user and YouTube reviewer, Chuckdawg1999 as dropped us a line to let us know that he's done a review of one of the newest entries to the Cyberverse One-Step Changer line, Monsterbot Repungus!

Here's what Chuck has to say about this cute little monster of mayhem and we've embedded the review below for you to check out!

chuckdawg1999 wrote:This has to be one of the best if not the best One-Step Changers I've ever handled. The transformation is new and something I'd like to see used again, possibly with the other Monsterbots. The arms are by far the most articulated of any simplified figure utilizing ball-joints in the shoulders and elbows. I always say the One-Step Changers make for the perfect desk toy but Repugnus exemplifies the term. If you're someone who automatically turns their nose up at the mere mention of the phrase One-Step, you need to give this figure a look.
