Well, here's something you don't hear often. Thanks to the ankle issues with Slamdance I opened my set to make sure it was ok only to discover Raindance was missing a wing. Amazon was very helpful and I'll have the replacement on Monday.

I wouldn't go anywhere as far as to call Skythread a 'dud': he's a bit on the basic side, sure (as based off his G1 design), a bit small and his mold may have some QC issues but he's not terrible. Of course, if we are talking relative to the entire line....meh, maybe but I'd still put Chromia as worse albeit for completely different reasons.

If it weren't for the issues, Skytread would be one of the only things that interest me enough to get from this line. I like the idea of the Duocons, and I like his design. Almost reminds me of T30 Blitzwing, another figure I was going to pick up if it weren't for its issues.

Almost makes me wonder if Has/Tak have issues with designing jet/tank figures.

They actually do. Even seen a universally praised figure with either mode?

I really hope that this is the correct place to put this. I just picked up commander class Jetfire and it has really got me thinking of what will be the next one? I have seen that a lot of people would like it to be G1 Star Saber, which would be cool but I am not really a fan of him (Star Saber is a minicon sword to me). Also I think that the decepticons are very outnumbered in siege. So how about a commander class Tidal Wave!? Based off his Unicron trilogy design. I think that this would be really cool if they made it! I just really wanted to get this out there, I have not seen anyone talk of this yet. So what do you guys think of a commander class Tidal Wave?

Pfft, no way. People hated the shoulders on that one.

I really like that one, even with the slightly weird shoulders. I think it's worth the rotating turret and the actual treads. I feel like a large amount of figures now compromise on the alt-mode for a better bot-mode (Siege Ironhide's... "van" is questionable, Siege Hound's arms don't do anything in alt-mode), and I tend to prefer figures that put just as much effort into alt-mode, if not a little more (CW Megatron, original MP Seekers).

Stargrave wrote:They’re just taking the battle damage aesthetic to the next level, jeepers. I know Slamdance ‘shoots himself in the foot’ sometimes but this is ridiculous.

My Red Alert is a tad just a smidge looser in the legs but honestly pretty solid.

I know what you mean about that curse of the second use of the mold but with him it’s not so much the case. Thundercracker will be my second Seeker so I’m really curious to see how it holds up. I love Starscream I’m feeling I won’t be disappointed everyone’s loving the Seekers for the same reasons I am.

I got my Alphastrike set and my G2 Sideswipe’s legs are a bit loose like my Red Alert.

No issues with Slamdance, but I’m being VERY careful given the news.

Out of caution, has anyone reported issues with the Skywarp set?

Mine has survived a transformation and back. Chest panel seems pretty good. Appears to be a solid figure.

So I should be praising or complaining about the two Amazon sets like everyone else, but unfortunately my box is missing. :( Amazon and USPS say it was delivered to my front door Saturday, but I've got nothing. I live on a private dead end dirt road so I really doubt anyone picked it up off my porch driving by, I don't think it was delivered at all. I've got my neighbors checking their doors and Amazon claims sometimes the delivery info is false and it may not have been actually been delivered. Whatever the case I hope it turns up on Monday.

I got two slamdance's and they are both fine, no breakage through several transformations.

Flashwave wrote:Umm, Eek? I transformed my Slamdance a few times last night and didnt notice any breakage, although there is a hitch in his leg trying to bend his foot, it could be related? Maybe there is flash in a joint and the tension is giving at the soft plastic arounf the metal pin?

*Carefully putsSlamdance on a shelf and never touches him again*

On a related note, I am now so torn about G2 Sideswipe. This is my first expsrience with the mold and I *Like* it but I'm not sure I *love* it. I am tempted to sell mine, but I think I want to see if the 3P guys do any Guns and the Bandolier. I wish we knew if there was a Sunstreaker coming for Siege2, I *might* be more inclined to circle back for Swipe then.

Let me know if you want to sell G2 Sideswipe. I’d like another.

Just wanted to show off Siege Jetfire along with Grand Max (my two most recent acquisitions). Along with some other items. Going on my 4th year now since I got back into the toy collecting aspect of this fandom (always followed the various animated series but didn't do anything with toys for a solid 10 years). I come down hard on Hasbro sometimes, but I have to say, I really enjoy what both they and TT have been offering lately. Even with things I'm not interested in, as long as the variety is there, and they offer something that makes me feel like they value my support, I'll stick around.

Ordered my Firestormers and Phantom Strikers Thursday, will hopefully be here next week. Barring some miracle by Target or a cheap deal on Screamer, Skywarp will be my 2nd Siegeeker.

and thanks @Rodimusconvoy for the photos of Thundercracker, that blue looks a lot better in in-hand images. I will get him eventually! Thanks!

I got my Amazon exclusives and am "happy" to report that my Grandslam pants are just fine, or well just as fine as Skytread's were in that they will need the mod. In fact, my Grandslam pants seem exactly like my Skytread's did pre-mod. At least it is an easy mod and so worth it. Everything else from both sets was just fine.

My exclusives came Saturday, a day earlier than Amazon originally said, but I didn't get to open them up until Sunday morning. Anyway, I've had no breakage issues with Slamdance, though because of the warnings, I was VERY careful when transforming his tank component back and forth. The left foot is VERY tight, and I try to make sure I'm not putting any undue force on the ankle joint. The right foot is smooth as silk by comparison. I would also like to note that, on my Slamdance, the tank component does actually close up and tab in properly at the top, unlike with Flywheels/Skytread.

It's awesome to now have Voyager Skywarp in my display with Starscream. I hope Thundercracker shows up soon, to complete the original trio. Skywarp is more of a dark, gunmetal gray than true black, but he still looks the part to me. Too bad they couldn't make the Null Rays purple, though.

It is.

The Decepticons have plenty of guys. They aren't quite as outnumbered as it may have looked initially. Check the Siege section of the wiki to see how it breaks down.

I hope the next Commander Class is a Decepticon, but it would probably have to be someone really popular in order to drive sales. 80 bucks isn't a lay down these days.

So I had all of my Siege figures out, playing with my kids yesterday (I’ll need to pick up another Lionizer for my daughter who loves lions). When we got G2 Sideswipe involved, there was much confusion about who he is and where he came from. I decided it’s time for a new name for him. We’re going to retcon a new backstory. Any suggestions for names? I want to stick with the whole covert ops theme with the black alt mode and all. He’ll likely be yet another Sideswipe brother. Here are some (admittedly lame/unoriginal) thoughts:

Sidestep
Stealthshot
Duskrider
Nightstriker (yes, awfully close to Nightstrike)
Midnight
Scrambler
Black-ops
Robot Guy (my 4-yr old’s suggestion)

Opinions welcomed.

emlit, may I suggest repurposing G2 "Covert Clone" Sideswipe as Deep Cover? Deep Cover is an eHobby release from the early 2000's, a new, retroactively added G1 character, based on a Diaclone release of what became the Sideswipe mold in black. Deep Cover has blue parts where G2 Sideswipe has red, but the color of the alt mode and the head sculpt are spot on. You could even dare to do a little customization work and make the red parts blue yourself.

Eh, I'd prefer Hasbro just make a Deep Cover as a Selects release at some point. And Tigertracks. And Clamp Down...
