Does the original release come with holes in the chest for a pin to go through at least?

Found ONE, just one Siege figure locally. Starscream.

Looks good in both modes, but some parts are a bit too loose, for example the chest just pops off with a strong breeze.

Then the fists don't want to seem to fold up properly.

Are those things a thing with him or did I just get super lucky?

I had a little trouble with the fists at first, but then I got the "trick." You have to make sure the fists are rotated just the right way to get the whole assembly to close correctly. I assume you're also collapsing the biceps into the forearms for transformation, yes?

Managed to snag Ironhide from Amazon. I actually really like him, but he has two right hands :BANG_HEAD:

Not only that but his left leg panel basically falls off if you sneeze near it.

I'm going to be waiting for it to come back in stock to get another one and return it. Like him overall though!

Yeah, well, mine had the head fused to the ball joint so it couldn't compact for vehicle mode, and the torso rotation mechanism was actually fuse so the front of the vehicle mode couldn't rotate into place :HEADHURTS:

He does, and some reviewers have put how-to videos on YouTube. Dig a little in this thread. ;)

Ironhide's panel popping is apparently due to mismatched holes for the pegs: the holes are slightly too small, so the pegs don't go in all the way and even push them out a bit.

Some thoughts about Ultra Magnus...

Image

* The manuals for the SIEGE line are muddy, it took me a while to figure out Magnus even got frustrated for a moment there. Maybe it was an off day.

* The tractor mode alone is below standard at this point. With the feet up up like that and the arms and hands sticking out to blatantly. But not terrible with the trailer attached. With the trailer it looks good.

* And everything has to be lined/tabbed/positioned to the millimeter for it to work.

Image

* A trailer-less Optimus doesn't look "right" next to Magnus in full alt-mode. I hide his truck-bed behind Magnus on the shelf.

Image

* One of my favouirte things about his transformation is how the belt flips around.

* Similar articulation to MP, plus waist rotation.

Image

Image

Image

* It's subtle but something about his face sculpt (of the inner robot) is more Optimus than SIEGE Prime.

Image

* I like having one Magnus with a "perfect transformation" (whatever the term in Japan) like the cartoon. And one with an inner White Convoy. Will have to think of a back-story for him.

Image

* The reason why I got this when I already had an Ultra Magnus is that I was impressed that Optimus and White Convoy were two different molds, with the same signature elements done in different styles. HasTak could have also Magnus for Prime too, but came up with a brand new mold. I think they're really upping their game with this line. And war-paint aside, Hasbro might be better at getting the decos right than before.

On the outer parts, yes. The inner parts have to be drilled through.

Here’s the article, for better reference.

These listings arent as fun as they used to be. We used to get some clues or confirmations in the past for upcoming toys. But now its just showing us when a figure we already know is coming will be released in Japan.

On my weekly hunt today I came across the wave 2 deluxes finally, except for the one I really looked for, Ironhide. I saw 2 Chromias along with Prowl and Six-gun, and I was surprised how much better Prowl looks in hand than in pics. So I picked him up, and it inspired me to get Sideswipe as well, which was a figure I initially passed on. Is it just me, or is Chromia's head a bit too large?

I got Ironhide a couple of days ago looking for Prowl. Funny how life works. I can't find Prowl to save my life. Chromia seems to be warming pegs...

Found these 3 at my small hometown Walmart! Win!

Image

All 3 are really fun figures, and great color coordination for them too!

Ironhide may be my new favorite SUV type Transformer in Generations, and he is overall one of my favorites period in Generations. His robot mode has presence, the Transformation is fun in it's straight-forwardness, and that alt mode is nice. I like what they did with the front end, it looks a little more mean.

Prowl was a pleasant Surprise. I really like the sleek alt mode in hand far better than images, and the robot mode is nearly faultless to me, save for the slightly weird feeties. I am on board for the Datsun trio (plus Barricade, argh that head...) now!

Sixgun is really cool, love the robot mode, and jet mode is cool too. He and Cog are great individuals made better by splitting into weapons and also going with their larger partners. Really fun. And really cannot complain at all about him.

Funny thing though: It was thought that Ironhide would share some engineering with TR Kup, and that is completely false. But yet, in the same wave, I really feel Prowl and PotP Jazz definitely have the body transformation nearly the same in terms of engineering. Very clever.

I'm aware.

I still think she's a cool figure, not worthy of shelf-warmer status. But it is what it is.

I thought the same for kroc and quake.

The thing with Chromia and Moonracer is that, in general, the female characters aren't quite as much of a 'hot sale' for the mom-and-pops-buying-toys-for-kids as that has always been a thing with toys in the boy demographic. That said I've noticed (and if memory serves me from earlier and different toylines) this isn't anywhere as true whenever said fembot is a major character and part of the cast.

However, as is? Moonracer, Novastar, Chromia and Elita-1 weren't exactly an appealing pick in spite of the fandom going 'Its about damn time!'. Meanwhile RID Windblade and Prime Arcee? Those totally sold fine as far as I could tell. That said, for a line that is mostly 'Transformers greatest hits' then...yeah I imagine most people who aren't hardcore toon and comic fans would just glance at the gals ans go "I don't know who she is." Especially when her wavemates include Prowl and Ironhide.

It also doesn't help these figures I mentioned as recent examples tend to suffer from pretty bad kibble issues. >:oP

I'm on vacation right now. Was hoping when I checked out a local Walmart and Target tonight that I might finally find the Wave 2 Deluxe Siege figures again. No luck at all. Just a lone Wave 1 Skytread at Walmart and a Wave 1 Sideswipe at Target.

Popularity definitely helps.

I wonder if Chromia would sell better if the mold had retained the Combiner peg.

I can almost guarantee it. The problem is she would have to be the selects line instead of a regular release if she were sole combiner part in the line.

I think one of the main problems with Siege Chromia is that they re-used a crappy design, engineering-wise. For me, that mold only did 2 things okay, 1) giving a lesser known fembot a toy and 2) being a decent combiner limb. They re-used that design and took away half of its good points.

Thoughts on my final SIEGE figure from the first batch, Cog.

Image

He's not a character from the cartoon, I got him to experience the "Weaponizers" gimmick and just 'cause he looked cool.

He is interesting, quite a few different configurations. And not necessary just how he assembles on other figures but his alt-mode, too.

Waist rotation and ankle tilts as a standard on a Deluxe is refreshing. Wish Hasbro didn't skimp on the fire/laser effects.. only the smallest and largest scale figures have them. And the "Battle Masters" are packed with only one or two effects.. it doesn't seem worth it just for that.

Image

The peg-ports aren't very consistent, some are more loose.

Might get Brunt to have a Decepticon, too. Besides he looks cool.

Found Aimless and Pteraxadon yesterday at Target! I think that means I'm all caught up on Siege except for Six-Gun. I can't seem to find him anywhere and he hasn't been listed on Amazon at all yet!
