Looks like an alien autopsy!

Or worse, a robotic Caesarean section!!

But I do like a city mode. Could have been cool. Or not. We'll never know.

Honestly, it looks like they took a chunk right out of Cybertron. If you look at Cybertron, the planet does look like a mess of buildings, roads and randomness, so I think it looks great!

Greetings Seibertronians! If you thought yesterday's look at the abandoned city mode was the only news about Unicron in the Transformers Generations 2020 book, then we have some news for you!

On the same page, as the aforementioned city mode, you see a photo of the Hot Rod and Galvatron Mini Figures that are included with the crowd funded Unicron and they've been changed since we last saw the mock ups, now looking a lot more like that do in the seminal Transformers the Movie from 1986! Next to the picture is a render of their new design.

You can also see an image comparing the size of Unicron's head to the mini figures.

What do you think of these? Do they make you glad that you got your preorder in for those who answered the Chaos Bringers call? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

I work in healthcare. That looks like Unicron is visiting his gynecologist.

Mini rodimus and galavatron are going to be that small it's interesting to see the amount of effort put into them. Will be even more interesting to see painters that can paint a grain of rice try to deco them up o.O

The mini-Hot Rod has been changed into being a mini-Rodimus Prime now, based on its proportions and waist detail.

I don't care what they do to them, they're going into a small bag in my parts drawer so I don't lost them.

They look nicer than the hastily made ones from before, though.

I think Hasbro is setting themselves up for a mold reuse we never saw coming - Transformers: Monopoly/Sorry/Life/Clue. You know what, I'm in ;)^

A full TF:TM set of these and a city mode would have been pretty sweet, just saying.

A game board that transforms as you play it (sorta like mousetrap). Its alt mode is a box with a handle for easy toting to a friends house.

Wow. Those are way smaller than I thought they'd be. Maybe as small as World's Smallest Jaguar.

Who wants to start a betting pool on how quickly someone will accidentally inhale these?

but like... he's already a planet. you're supposed to live in a city, but he's already a planet. who would he be a city for? how would that even work with him ALREADY BEING A PLANET?

Solution: Planet-sized space colony.

That city mode would probably take up nearly an entire card table top. I kind of like it, sort of reminds me of Cybertron Primus' battle station/space craft mode. I'm sure people will be their own fan modes now that this has been brought to our attention.

Happy to see new and better looking mini figures. Those previous ones really didn't help sell anyone on Unicron

My thoughts exactly. In exchange for backing, we are getting an extremely in depth look at the production process...maybe more than we've ever seen before. And honestly, this may be the biggest perk. Fascinating process!

Even though it's not named as such, can this be considered a Masterpiece Unicron?

It's been a few coffee breaks since we last heard anything about Hasbro's War for Cybertron Unicron, and now Hasbro have released the first (in what will hopefully be on-going) production update in which they discuss "tool start".

HasLab wrote:Tool start is when we begin the process of manufacturing the tools, or molds, that will be used to create each piece of this massive figure. However, before tool start, we need a tool layout. A tool layout is the plan that organizes all the pieces that make up the figure into different tools. One tool might make five small pieces, while another tool might make one big one. The number of pieces in a tool vary based on the material, color and size.

Read more about the process and check out a short <1 minute video about the tool start process on the Hasbro Pulse website.

Whether you backed Unicron or not, this is still a fascinating look behind the scenes of what it takes to bring our beloved plastic crack to retail. Feel free to add your thoughts about this process, or just have a good old chinwag on our Energon Pub Forums!

"...AND THE ARK SHIP!" is actually a Movie shuttle. Titanium gave us the same mix up, so at least it's tradition.

And all these years, I never realized how much Unicron's head is shaped like Darth Vader's, until seeing it unassembled on the blueprints. Adds a new dimension to the SW Crossovers Death Star; I need to remember how to transform mine again someday...
