Have you been on the fence about TakaraTomy's recent Chronicles releases, featuring G1 and Dark of the Moon versions of the iconic Autobot and Decepticon leaders?

Each figure in either set is slightly unique to these releases, including a brand new mold trailer shared by G1 Prime and Dark of the Moon Deluxe Prime, as well as this "G1" Megatron homaging the extremely rare "Goodbye Megatron" set, created to commemorate the villain's death in the '86 movie.

Other than the trailer, I could live without these. The de-chromed Megatron looks awful and having no accessories makes hime even less desirable in my opinion. G1 Optimus looks decent and I don't mind that they drilled his trailer peg to fit the DOTM trailer. However, I believe they should have gone with a painted Autobot logo, like 25th Anniversary Prime, rather than going back to a sticker. Another thing that would have made these better is show accurate, or close to, heads. Music Label Prime has a great head sculpt. Why not use it again? Megs has been due for a new sculpt for nearly 3 decades now. Why can't Takara Tomy do something about it? I understand the nostalgia aspect, but you've created a character with countless fans. Can't you do a better job of representing this character?

The G1 Megatron doesn't look too bad here but I still think it looks better with chrome.

Not a bad set for those who collect these sorts of things, or those who don't have the figures yet. Pass for me though.

Hasbro really ought to release a domestic version.

i like the DOTM Megatron repaint, and the Optimus with trailer is very nice(how do connect with G1 and deluxe?)I don't see these coming to America. The Optimus maybe, but Megatron not likely, unless they paint the G1 Orange or something bright super cartoony non threatning.The trailer and mechtech weapon are very cool (in photo behind Optimus appears to open?) but not desperate to get.

it's been 27 years since 1984 and not once have Habro nor Takara ever bothered to fix to design flaw of the "handle vs peg hold" on the very original G1 Prime's Ion Blaster.

Except for Masterpiece Prime.

I am SO getting that Megatron set!

Oh the humble beginnings. I like these sets. Another great gallery. I hope these continue. I also hope for an American release, so new fans can see how far the engineering has come.

If Hasbro does release DOTM Deluxe with a trailer, I'll be on top of it. Man, the wife is not going to be happy. I also wish they would do a Hasbro release of the DM-03 trailer that comes with the Japanese voyager. lol

If I had some disposable change, I'm still not getting this. Aside from the DOTM versions, theeir G1 counterparts feel like an afterthought. Heck, you can get an Encore and TFC Megatron(loaded with lots of gimmicks at a lesser price.

I don't know the price, and honestly, don't care. When I look at the money I've spent on movie stuff, I cringe at what else I could have put on my shelves. My movie collecting is done. This is good news for those who do not already have enough movie primes though...sooo that's cool.

These figures do nothing for me. I've already got the encores of Prime and Megatron-with their accessories. I've got a movie Prime and Megatron. This is... useless for me.

The Hell happened to the nice, shiny copper paint on Movie Megatron? Its been reduced to a slightly darker shade of the same drab brown the Hasbro version had.

Yes it still has the silver bits, but c'mon. The shiny copper was what made me order the set.

NICE! Thanks for saving me $80! I was really about to buy the Takara voyager prime just to have a movie-verse prime truck display. Guess im waiting fot this!
