Dinobot was one of THE best things about the CG animated TV show by Mainframe. I though his name a little lazy though, why not "Grimlock", or "Swift Seizer" -
[Translation of Velociraptor : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velociraptor ].

Of course, Dinobot was really a "Utah Raptor" or just "Utahraptor", [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utahraptor ].

Spielberg up-scaled the Velociraptor for Jurassic Park:

...It was instead based on its larger relative, Deinonychus, which was at the time informally called "Velociraptor antirrhopus" by Gregory S. Paul, whose unique taxonomy was refered to by both Crichton and Spielberg. Spielberg also changed it for dramatic reasons, and when Utahraptor was discovered before the film's release, Stan Winston jokingly said "We made it, then they discovered it",...

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! LOL! Apologies Vio', I thought you'd appreciate it as a fan.

http://tformers.com/transformers-featured-toy-of-the-month/20694/news.html

It's coming as a 30th anniversary figure. It took me 30 seconds to find this out on Google search.

http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Takara-Tomy-Japanese-Classics/dp/B001I9047G

Here is another Link. Not sure if it'll help as it's $210.48 right now. You might just wait until it's released stateside.

This wasn't hard, its took 60 seconds total. Learn to use the tools you have as most people aren't nice like I am to do this for you. If your not satisfied, be responsible for yourself and use your fingers to make a few keystrokes. >:oP

No, that's just a featured article about Henkei Dinobot. And it said it was the previous anniversary (25 years in 2009) that featured him. This anniversary we're getting his friend Vermin Rattrap. :)

hate to burst your bubble... but your research isn't that good when this figure was released in '09 and you say it is a 30th anniversary figure. please try not to help anymore. not trying to put you down, but I also don't want to get all frustrated reading misinformation. and trust me I know how to search, I own a computer company.

I gotta admit, that is quite possibly the funniest thing I've read all day. Didn't know 2008 was the 30th anniversary or that we're in 07.
Dinobot could still very well be based on the Velociraptor even if it's too large, after all the beast modes scaled according to robot-mass and not real life alt-mode scale, I mean look at Megatron, or any of the Predacons, or hell Rattrap.

Wow, never thought Henkei Dinobot was so expensive these days. I have him and if it makes you feel better, he's somewhat of a let down in hand, his weapons are wrong (terribly short sword, tail shield rotator thingy oddly shaped) and his rubber parts feel terrible.

It's going to be a bitch to find him, bu I'll see if I can find something in my bookmarks and such that's not priced quite so insanely.

Vio', go read the article again & you will see that it was posted in July of this year or 2013. The news is not out of date. There is a 30th anniversary Generations edition of "Dinobot" coming out.

You do not need to look hard for an expensive figure.

Generations is releasing a a whole line of Beast Wars figures, not just "Rhinox".

If you go to "Big Bad", when it releases, [& it will], you will be paying $49.99, US, plus the shipping. If you have a Walmart, Target, Toys r Us, ETC, you will pay half that, [also depending].

This is not an angry message, or "I told-you-so". I just found a few other news articles on upcoming or future, Hasbro Generations Beast Wars 30th Anniversary figures, they frequently mention upcoming figures, including the Dinobot figure, now unseen.

I read it again and all I'll say is this:

TFormers.com's Featured Toy of the Month is Henkei Dinobot! While Generations is soon returning Maximals and Predacons to the shelves for the 30th Anniversary, the last Transformers anniversary brought us a figure that's a little bit of both. Click for the highlights below!

"Featured Toy of the Month", that should have told you it's an article highlighting a pre-existing toy, in this case Universe 2008 Dinobot. Furthermore, "last anniversary" is not "latest anniversary". In this case, "last" means "previous" which is the 25-year anniversary of 2009, while "latest" is this year's 30th anniversary. Besides, it's not news in the slightest, despite the post date.

Tronus_Rex wrote:Generations is releasing a a whole line of Beast Wars figures, not just "Rhinox".

Not entirely correct. So far, we've gotten Rhinox and Waspinator (twice even), and we can expect Rattrap and possibly Beast Machines Tankor. That is it. Nothing more.

To avoid degenerating the topic into an actual argument: Tronus_Rex, the article from TFormers is indeed from last July, but I believe you have misread what it says. They mention 'Generations' returning to the shelves, and bringing Maximals and Predacons with it. That is true, with Rattrap, Rhinox and Waspinator confirmed/released so far. In Dinobot's case, however, the article says 'the last Transformers anniversary brought us a figure that's a little bit of both'. As others have pointed out, it was the 25th Anniversary figure.

EDIT: See also JelZe's post above me! :D

While this does not preclude the release of Dinobot in the near future, we have as yet not received any news that this will be the case.
This is all we have so far, from Hasbro and Wal*Mart.

It is true that the articles I have read since, this years, first toy conventions way back in the early spring, have since said that a Dinobot is only likely, some seem more certain, but in truth, this is really just speculation & rumor.

I've seen enough rumor come true to believe that this would make money for both Takara and Hasbro, but, no, nothing confirmed.

I could actually 'cite this, but what's the point? I would be citing a rumor, not a confirmation.

But when we are talking about the difference of a couple hundred dollars, patience is merited to see if the, "insiders", are telling the truth, or, are basing this on nothing hard.

True, but also consider this: No character from Deluxe and up, except for the usual Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, has gotten a second makeover between Classics, Universe 2008 and Generations, correct me if I'm wrong. Cosmos got a second toy in Legends, but that's really it. With that in mind, the chance of getting a new Dinobot are pretty slim.

Also, it's unlikely it will come out in the next year, according to the Hasbro list I posted above. It would confuse people/kids to have Dinobots and Dinobot as two entirely separate entities (I think). :-?

If this were 2011 or even 2012, I'd agree, but, we've gotten so many unseen characters lately in Generations & even Master' that I think this would make sense.

Think about it, were any of us expecting even a Rhinox figure?

It is true we've had even less stuff from Beast' expect a bit from Henkai & the 10th anniversary a few years ago, but, you could say that now is the best time/ most likely time.

There are a lot of TF fans, that became fans, BECAUSE of Beast Wars, who're now, like the G1/G2 crowd did years before, would likely becoming interested in Beast Wars again. At just this time, given the newest movie, the 30th anniversary, & finally the common/average age of this demographic being, statistically, this the right time to make these figures [late 20's if I remember correct from what I read - just as the G1/G2 crowd before].

Before I saw Rampage I would have said it's never going to happen, but now...anything can happen. So how hard is it to believe we could see a FAR more popular figure such as Dinobot. Given what they did with Rampage - there are more than one candidate for just recycling and retooling an existing mold - & they even made a new one for Rhinox, that's incredible, even to me.

The Beastwars show was OK. But when they shoe horned/linked its story to the original G1..............instant classic!

Dinobot kinda reminded me a a Starscream gone good..........only more bad@ss. Too bad I did not take advantage of his availability when the henkei version was released.
