The numbers for NASCAR are not good: advertising money is down by 67%, attendance is down 35%, viewership is down more than 50%. The rumor among sports professionals is that Fox may be on the verge of voiding their contracts with NASCAR due to moneys lost..
The end of nascar???? Oh man, please don't tease me like that!

I mean, i respect preety much any form of motor sport to a point.... But Nascar has to be one of the most redunant out there. I just don't see what drives (or i guess i should say used to drive

) people to watch/attend these races.

It also doesn't help that Speed chanel has about 10 different shows dedicated to the sport either. It sucks that during the Formula 1 racing series we only get 1 race every 2 to 3 weeks, and is ussualy shown at 5am on sunday with virtualy no re-airs. But nascar races are shown 4 times in one weekend with post race shows, after interview shows, then a discusion afterwards on why Dale jr. didn't pass on lap 1,245.

I think your right, people are just getting plain sick of it! And thats fine with me. Nascar has lost its roots anyways.
It was a very interseting article about how they are trying to bring back their viewership...I have to wonder if this movie may be a part of it.[/quote]
