Ever since the release of the new PS3 3.72 firmware,my PS3 has had nothing but problems. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing problem's as well.

1st problem started when I tried to play Transformers: Dark of the Moon on my PS3.The Blu-Ray disc would stop about 20 mins into the movie,then the PS3 would shut itself off.

Few days later..Turn the PS3 on, few sec's later system shuts itself off. Finally got it to turn back on played WFC for about an hour,shut it off. Within the last few day's went to play WFC, behold nothing. Saturday I got it turned on long enough to back up a few downloads and now the PS3 won't turn on,and has remained that way since.



Today I called Sony(Can't ever get a straight answer from them),and whoever I spoke with Said I would have to pay $100+ just to have them look at it. I feel like im being screwed over for another one of Sony's F...Up's.

My uncle is having similar issues with his PS3 after the same update. I'm assuming you have the slim style and not the original style because it seems this problem is isolated to the slim models. I have the original 80GB model and it has been unaffected, but my uncle's newer model is being really sluggish, and it seems it is due to the update you mentioned. Has update 3.73 resolved the issue?

I don't know if the 3.73 update has fixed the 3.72 problems. I haven't been able to use my PS3,since the 3.72 update. If I do happen to get it to work,it only works for 30 min max.

Mine only plays Blu-Rays.

Yep a lot of people with the slims are getting all kinds of random issues. The 3.73 was supposed to resolve these, but I don't think it worked.

Anyway, I still like my PS3 and all but I'm going Xbox 360 this Christmas. I know almost no one who has a PS3 anymore.
