It's obvious to me that Bruticus NEEDS a chainsaw!

I don't think Scoop's toy is appreciated enough.

Good light, steady hand, clean lens and think about what angle you want to use - sometimes looking up from below can be a little more dramatic than from above (all my shots are taken on a shelf that's about 1.5m high, so I can do from above, below, straight on etc)

I bet it was the same store as you that couldnt sell me and eventually refund me for G1 Black Megatron.

Good news is that I found the first reissue of G1 Megs so it's all good!

He isn't appreciated enough. I myself was very underwhelmed by him (especially the plastic, he felt super cheap) and Thew wasn't impressed either.

So please tell me, since I am super curious, what is so great about him? Why should I appreciate him more? I definitely want to since I paid money for him.

Couldn't say, really. I can tell you why *I* appreciate him though!

I'm a fan of the whole idea of Target Masters and Head Masters, and the fact that Hasbro will go to the trouble to give us a figure like this means we might get more, like Slugslinger, Pointblank, Sureshot, Misfire, and Quickmix, to name a few. Updated versions of older characters are always welcomed by me, even if the character wasn't well known, like Skullgrin and Straxus. Sort of like Hasbro is testing the waters with a lesser known character like Scoop. It also shows that Hasbro isn't going to half-@zz a figure in the Generations line just because it's a more obscure one. Sure the plastic feels off, he's light, and has hollow bits, but he's got 15 points of articulation on him, and neither the robot mode or vehicle mode suffer because of it.

That last point is excellent. Both modes dont suffer at all.

One thing about Sluglinger though, doing him as a target master would be tricky since they already gave his Caliburst target master to Scoop

But yeah, I really like your point that figures like these symbolize hope. That's how I feel about the G1 reissues coming out this year.

I agree. Something about his colors and sculpt are very retro. I love his G1 feet, and nice head sculpt. I like that his head is in the drivers seat in dozer mode. Also I like that he came with two target masters, so he can share.

Its nostalgia for me, G1 Scoop is one of the first Transformers I remember owning, and I still have him on my G1 shelf. This new updated version was one I knew I had to have when he was announced, and I am glad I got him.

Hmm.. Here's my thoughts on Hasbro and Takara's decos:
-Takara's face is painted way better
-Takara's wings look better
-Hasbro's is way more affordable
-Hasbro's black chest complements the purple of the sword much better.
Hasbro wins, in my mind, but I almost kinda wanna buy the Takara version so I can frankenstein myself the ultimate wind blade.

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention Hasbro's sword looks waaaaaayyyyy better IMO.

I love Scoop too. He's a lot of fun! Only problem is the targetmasters feel like cheap-ass KO things found in "eggs" dispensers found in a restaurants lobby. Sure, it's in order to sell the figure at deluxe price, but still.

I liked G1 Astrotrain. Just a big Decepticon goon who hauled everyone around in his butt. Simple job, and his early insistence on having a one-sided rivalry with Omega Supreme was funny. But at least he got a lot of screen time in the show, seeing as how the Decepticons decided they'd rather waist his energy than their own to fly around.

His Classics toy doesn't much resemble his G1 self, but there's enough there to know who it is! His release was early on in the Classics toyline, but that doesn't make him a bad toy, it just means he's overshadowed by the brilliance of the current Generations toys! Hopefully he ends up getting an updated toy, because I'd love a new version of him!

I knew this was the deco I wanted. And am very happy with it.
