There wasn't much about Transformers Animated I liked. The thing I did like was the overall story and character backgrounds. I didn't like the episodic stories, I didn't like the human villains, I didn't like the endless, over-done G1 references, I didn't like the character design on the show. I didn't even like most of the figures.

I DID like a few of them though, Blackarachnia being one, strangely enough. I really wasn't sold in it at first, but when I saw it at a toy show for $25, I talked the seller into giving it to me for $15 and grabbed it. Can't say I'm disappointed, really. The spider mode is excellent in that it slightly triggers my arachnophobia!

This shot almost killed me. She kept falling the hell off the shelf, I spent some time looking for one of her freaking pedipalps, and I had to pose and re-pose her and take a bunch of shots at different angles! Worth it though!

A random stop into a TRU today bore fruit, as I made a nice little find. After getting home with my new acquisition, I could not help but to take a few photos of it with another toy I've already had for some years...

Powerglide finds a new gun!

It isn't a bad gun, but there is something a wee bit off about it...

What could it be...?

Surprise! The gun is also Powerglide!

Both Powerglides are confused. How could there be two of them? But in the end, they decide to be friends.

Maybe they'll even go on a flight together!

And they flew up into the clouds, and lived happily ever after. Until they ran out of fuel, after which they both crashed into the home of Astoria Carlton-Ritz, killing her in the resulting explosion.

The end.

While probably not a surprise, since it seems a popular opinion, I must declare this new Powerglide is full of win! Not to say it doesn't have a few issues... I really wish the hands were a bit less obvious in vehicle mode, and while they stay together fine once you get them to do so, his legs can be a pain in the arse to peg together when transforming him. But besides that? Perfect robot mode, a near perfect vehicle mode, and a gun mode that, while not essential, is passable and is pulled off without a negative effect on either of the other two molds.

The Ultra Class Powerdlide does still win a bit in a few areas... The arms are much better disguised (with the hands hidden away a lot more effectively) in vehicle mode, and for those to whom such things may matter, the larger size would tend to scale better with most other figures in vehicle mode. (Although I personally prefer the smaller size for Powerglide.) But overall, if I had to choose only one Powerglide, it is the new one, hands down, no contest.

I saw those two today at a Walmart I popped into after the aforementioned TRU. (They had Alpha Bravo and Drag Strip as well, but I am less interested in those two.) I almost bought them, but since I am really tight at the moment, I talked myself out of it, especially since I had just picked up Powerglide. And now, here you are flaunting them at me!

Man, I need more money for those combiner wars guys. I got nothin' right now! XD

But what I DO have, I still love! Tracks being one of them! Probably one of the better ones from the Alternators toyline (the best being Jazz). When I thought back on it, Tracks really did get a bit more character development than a lot of the other Autobots, even some of the season 1 guys! Of course that character was still the obvious "full of himself but still a nice guy" personality. Really they just took Sunstreaker and turned him blue. Then they took Tracks, turned him red, and named him Knockout for Transformers Prime! Explains why I like all three of those characters.
