Re: Cary's TF Collection and Photos

I'm in such a Beast Hunters mood right now. I've had BH Bulkhead for a while and his face always looked like a couple of blue bug eyes and a crazy grin. I decided to fix that today. I took his head apart and pulled out the translucent blue bit and "painted" the horns silver. The sharpie paint job matches the silver on his chin perfectly. It will be hard to see in this pics, but I'm happy with the results. I also used a black sharpie to touch up a couple scuffs on Wheeljack's noggin.

Bulkie's try out to be the green ranger...

I've said this before, but I really like Bulkhead.

Hey guys, Roadbuster called and wants his color scheme back!

Bulkie and Jackie at it again.

Just like Vanilla Ice, it's time to go solo!

And because Will asked me so nicely, Megasharktitron in all his badass alt mode glory.

THanks Joe, glad you enjoyed.

So I had myself a WillyJ style (non TF) find today. Picked up a couple Zoids from a thrift store for $5.50.

Gustav and Gravity Ptera in the same box and 99% complete. Instructions for both and the sticker sheet for Gustav (with only 4 applied). Both were assembled and I had to do a hair dryer repair on a moving part of Petra that was bent. Missing 2 small bits for Gustav and the inertia pull cord, one plug/bolt thing on Petra and probably the pilot.

Super fun to let Gustav (rotating radar) chug across the floor pulling the repair trailers with Ptera in tow. I don't know much about Zoids and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them honestly. Well here's a pic.

Image

I need to search to see if there is any Zoids threads here. If anyone knows, please point me in the right direction of a thread or those who are into these things

Suoer duper neato!
They look real vintagy. Can't wait to see what you can learn about them.
Those little trailer things look like they could make neat props or repair tables for your TFs.

The copyright is '02-'03. Is that vintage or retro?

Good call, I was thinking the same thing that the repair bays and lil guys and gals were scaled well for TFs.

Prime Beast Hunters.

Dang.

Didn't they have Zoids in the 80s? I feel like I had something similar as a kid.. Also, I'd consider 2003 modern classic ;)^

They did or at least something very similar. I remember some wind up ones you could build maybe and I think the bolt/knows were screw in. I never had any but I remember some kids with some.

Zoids were definitely around in the 80's and wind up was there thang! Still is. That line has been around a looooong time, and I'm pretty sure they were takara. But, when I look them up on AmiAmi they say thet're made buy Kotobukiya. Isn't that who does the TF gum kits?

I have a cool little owl from early 2000s that I swear is made by Takara.

Kotobukiya makes model kits based on the toys. The two I have are marked Tomy.

The pill bug guy is battery powered and the birdy has an inertia pull cord engine, it's actually brilliant. You put the pull cord in and give it a yank then you can engage the gears when your ready to let it go.

They're neat and makes me want more. I took the flier apart to fix and I may take the other apart just for fun. As its rolling around the armor plates undulate, it's very cool.

Titans Returns has hit the south, well sorta...

Postby no-one » Tue Jul 05, 2016 10:08 pm

After a long weekend of hunting I finally stumbled upon a little Titans Return goodness. A random TRU had one Hardhead and one Blurr hidden in the overstock storage above the TF pegs. I nabbed a HH and took off. This line has amazing sculpted details, the harsh lighting of a desk lamp really helps to pull out all the detail. This is going to be a fun line to photograph. Unfortunately all these pics are from my cell phone with a hotel desk lamp :-(

Warning, pic heavy post ahead. Go ahead and fix yourself some tea while you wait for the page to load. It's OK, I'll wait right here for you to come back ;)

Image

Baby's got backpack!

Image

Image

So I found the head to be a little weebly and woobly when inserted all the way, so I don't quite push it in that far.

Image

Ummm... wut?

Image

Image

Also, if anyone finds the little guys neck to be a little loosey goosey, just try to gently tighten that chest screw. Mine was a little loose like Optimus was trying to pry his face off, so after a few turns of the old eyeglass driver, he was all snugged up.

So on the subject of headmasters, err, ummmm... I mean Titanmasters; this is a gimmick that doesn't really make much sense to me. I never watched the cartoons, so it's a mystery. I just ignored the gimmick on Gen Brainstorm, but it's much more fun here. It's also nice to not feel like I'm going to break the dame thing. Anyway, to me it's like the real robot is the TM and the big guy is just a powered mech type thingy - what eves. Super fun to play with.

Hey more pics! :KREMZEEK:

Image

Image

So the neck and arms are on ball joints, who woulda thunk it? :-?

Image

So I needed a logical way for the little guy to climb back up into his mech. I'm not sure what is name is and the packaging is even sitting within arms length. Guess what? I don't care what his name is :-P

I turned his arm into a ladder. How clever am I? Lie to me, dammit!

Image

Image

I'll tell you one thing, I don't trust this two faced little ****!

Image

Image

So you like mounting options do you?

Image

Image

Drive it!

Image

Image

Image

Dig the molded in crosshairs/HUD.

Image

Pew pew!

Image

Image

Sun cover mode or armored up mode - you decide...

Image

Guns, guns and mo guns!

Image

So, have I mentioned play options? What if I told you the shoulder cannon can become a speeder bike cannon? Would you say I'm mad?

Image

Image

If you don't zoom a round the house with this, then I'd say you're a damn liar!

Another undocumented feature - heads up mode.

Image

Image

Image

Image

I was about to put my new play pretty up for the night and I noticed another TM mounting point.

Image

It's not super useful and I'm having a hard time getting this TM to stay put, but it's a thing.

Image

Honestly, I think it's the pee deck

Thanks for the BH Megatron pics, they will come in handy. I too feel BH bulkhead works better as prime roadbuster.
Zoids were made by Tomy in the 80s and Skylynx was designed for that line. Cool find !

Lastly, yes, you are clever.

Oh and the company that makes the small TF kits is called Kabaya.

Very nice Cary! I'm hoping I'll find these fools soon.

Also, in the Japan, The Headmasters (the mini robots) are the robot and the body is a Transtector. So you happen to BE cannon! Also it's the way I like it, and you just happen to think the same way I do ;)^

Oh snap, I forgot he did Lego Batman. No wonder I liked Bats so much in the movie.

Does he do the voice in game too? I like to switch to Wonder Woman because it plays the theme of the old show. And if you let the cursor hover over any of the characters they do the nanananana batman theme in their way, or something like that. Lego BM3 came with my PS4. I don't play it often because the camera starts to annoy me.

He's the Batman in LEGO Batman the Movie as well! I don't think he did the voice in the game (LEGO Batman/2/3), or even LEGO Dimensions. Checkingggggggggg.

EDIT: This guy did the video games.
