She's a keeper. But if I haven't figure that out by now, I probably never will.

Aside from his age-induced loose ankles what are your thoughts on XB Skids?
He's a cool figure and looks good in both modes. I love a good car hood chest and he fits that bill perfectly. Getting his upper body to align and "snapped" in can be a bit of a pain, but once you figure it out it works really well. He is a little top heavy and his weak ankle are not helping. But I will take wobbly ankle tilts over no ankle tilts any day. Car mode is cool. All for doors open, seats are adjustable, hatch back works, hood opens and has a pretty good representation of the toyota engine and he also has tilt steering.

Thanks. A double layer of some old shears the Mrs had laying around. I kinda feel like I need something a little more defusery or dimmer lights.

So how's the labor day weekend going?

Oh oh, oh! Shears are curtains, right? when I read the word shears, my mind immediately thought panty hose!
Sorry. Curtains.
The shot looks great man. Moody, and crystalline. Really nice. I wonder if you got some nice artists parchment from an art supply store, if that would be a good option for more defuserieness?
I've been lurking "Focal Point". That will be a good thread. I no longer have, or will be getting any time soon, a nice camera. So I will watch, and learn. And make my iphone photos sing. :-D

Good, thanks. All kindza thangz going on. Gonna party the neighborhood potluck on Monday! Might get my face painted like Spiderman. Who knows? I've been officially called in on a project, so I am also drawing like nuts. Feels good.
I also am really into this blue Bluestreak on my desk. =P~

Totally love that shot. That the light box is pretty kewl, kudos on using the old curtains. Love repurposing.

The light balance/levels are great! What kind of camera is it? Bells? Whistles?

That looks amazing! Nice job, what I like most about it is the option of using different colourd backgrounds with relative ease, take a bow sir!

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the results. The shears are temporary until I find something a little better. It was a late night inspiration project, so I used what I had laying around.

I've been lurking "Focal Point". That will be a good thread. I no longer have, or will be getting any time soon, a nice camera. So I will watch, and learn. And make my iphone photos sing. :-D
That seems like a good thread. I was being encouraged towards a light box and after playing with my wife's diffuser I felt I needed two more. So a building I went. I guess I should probably disclose that my wife does a little amateur photography (might seem obvious considering I'm borrowing all her gear).

I've been officially called in on a project, so I am also drawing like nuts. Feels good.
I also am really into this blue Bluestreak on my desk. =P~
Congrats and congrats. I was wondering how Mr. Bluestreak was enjoying Bluestreak ;)

We we had plans with a few different folks, but they all fell through. We may fire up the ole grill today if the weather calms down a bit. Heading to the in-laws for a cookout tomorrow.

It's an micro 4/3s Olympus Pen EPL2 with an old Canon 50mm. I love that heavy glass lens. It has an insane depth of field. The camera is a few years old but has all the features you would want. I kinda have to fight the settings because of the lens. The only thing the camera can control is the shutter. Everything else is tweaking and lighting. I think I prefer it that way.

The Mrs. has a few other lens as well. A mix of digital and non. I may have to play with the others some day. I'm very interested in the old 35mm she has.

Thanks. I originally cut a couple holes in the top of the box to allow me to hold the background with clothespins, but the poster board was a little too short to allow the bend where I wanted it. So I taped up the holes and just taped the poster board in there. At 99 cents a pop, I figured tape damage wouldn't be to bad.

I've been wanting to take some pics of my Prime figures and I'm going use Big WillyJ's top 5 list as a call to action.

This was taken pre-light box, but fit thematically.

Hey Cary, I did pop over and check out that thread. I didn't have much time this past week to even lurk...

BUUUT...you inspired me to build a Ballin' Bot Booth(tm) of my own...I did it this AM. I didn't have any old sheers so I bought a new panel to cut and use.

I think it turned out pretty good took a few test shots which I'll put up in a bit.

Peace and thanks for the inspiration!

That thread has gone dark, hopefully it will pick up. I was hoping maybe we could theme weeks or challenges or something. No reason we can't do that on our own threads though 8-)

My work has been keeping me busy and on the road, so I've been hiding a bit myself.

I haven't been in that thread in a minute but I might put one of my new photos up there but I would need to know the settings I used for the pic, eh?

We can certainly do themes and challenges for ourselves!

Hope your are enjoying your weekend and look forward to more of your Ballin' pics!

Personally, I'm not really that concerned with settings. I'm using an old manual prime lens, so most of the settings are thrown out the window anyway. I would think you could just skip. I'm glad I took CP's advice and went the light box route.

So far the weekend has been great. We are having some lovely weather; I wanna say it never topped 80° today with very low humidity. We are going fire up the ole grill here in a few.

I've got about four more TF: Prime pics I wanna take then maybe we can have a little group fun. I'm thinking something easy to get the juices flowing.

Anyone have any suggestions while I think about it?

TF Photo Challenge

Postby no-one » Sun Sep 13, 2015 8:06 am

I've done a few 30 day photo challenges with my wife back when we were both heavy instagram users. Those are a lot of fun and can push you out of your comfort zone. I'm feeling a 30 day challenge involving toting around transformers is a bit to much to commit to.

So here is what I'm thinking: let's take turns coming up with the theme/challenge/rules and give everyone a week to complete it.

Hastags don't work here, so there is no way to really "tag" the pic other than changing the subject of the post. I've come up with two options.

Option 1: The theme picker will "host" the pics on their collection thread for the week then we move the party to another thread.

Option 2: I create a new thread for the challenges (this might be fun because we may draw in some others that want to play(also I just checked and there doesn't appear to be one already).

Let me know what you think and if we need to move this party to a new thread.

The weather is beautiful right now, so I will go first and declare this weeks theme... "Outside/outdoors". I'm keeping is simple for this one; no restrictions, so use what ever figures, camera, color settings, time of day, etc, you want.

Ya got until next Sunday to complete the challenge! Get out there and get creative.
