Yes, that was obvious, wasn't it? MP-10 and MP-01 are too different to be confused for each other.

So, Is that the MP-01 or MP-10 truck cab in this pic?

Asked the question because the pic was a bit blurry and I wanted others feedback.

My guess is that it's the MP-10 truck cab mode. But i'm not entirely sure due to the blurry pic blurring out some of the finer details on the toy.

That is MP-01. The legs are a dead giveaway. Seriously, how is this an issue? Vents on the top, flip up gray trailer hitch, MP-01.
That is the iGear Faith Leader. You can tell it apart by the lack of a button on the roof. This alt mode is quite small.

Thanks for solving the mystery.

Okay,I admit I was wrong. I never would have thought they'd use Faith Leader after all the MP-10 comparisons.

You know what? I'll bet that the only reason they used it was because it was already in altmode and it was easier to use that than transform MP-10.

I'm disappointed that this is Rodimus Prime and not Hot Rod. And why does Rodimus Prime have a Targetmaster?

Easy mistake to make considering that iGear ripped of the MP-1 design. As for why they used this comparison, I'm wondering if it was due to MP-09 being posed with MP-1 a lot in alt mode and it's size looking better with FL than MP-10.

This things alt mode is probably going to look really under-sized compared to other MP toys.

I was hoping this was more in line of Masterpiece, but it doesn't look like an MP, it looks like a Classics rendition.
A shame, because if it was MP styled, I would have gotten that to replace the pile of plastic, flaky paint, and springs that calls itself TRU MP Rodimus.

It's like 90% of all 3rd Party companies seem to not understand what the MP line's mantra is, and just thinks it stands for "large expensive figure".

But it looks fantastic, it's basically what a Classics Rodimus Prime should look like, and the transformation looks like loads of fun.

That I agree with you. Translated in Chinese, the term "Masterpiece" seems to mean big ass oversized figure. But if this was voyager or ultra class height I would buy it in a heartbeat. Im sure the Warbotron buyers will love this.

Think this is how HasTak should be making their Masterpiece Transformers toys. Where the the toys are more bulky, more durable, less fragile. Less complex transformation.

It's no fun buying a HasTak MP TF toy if it's too fragile and can't be played with and transformed on a daily basis. It's no fun if one is scared to play with the toy and treats it as a statue that remains untouched on a shelf. Think this is basically what the more fragile HasTak MP TF toys like MP-05, MP seekers, MP-09 toys are.

I'm into these 3rd party bigger MP TF toys because they cost a bit less than the Takara MP TF Japan version for US buyers. They are more beefy, Bulky, More durbale and have less complex transformations. The toys i'm referring to are, FT Quakewave, FT and GP Dinobots. MMC Hexatron. X-T Megatron, X-T Scourge, TW Astrotrain. DX9 Chigurh, DX9 Rodimus Prime.

Just think HasTak needs to make more MP TF toys like MP-08 Grimlock and MP-10 Optimus.

Think HasTak is approaching the MP TF toy line with the wrong formula. They seem to be more focused on making works of art. Where the toys are fragile, skinny, looking like statues with articulation.

Don't mind my MP and CHUG TF toys looking like the G1 Cartoon animation. But I need them also to be strong durable action figures toys. Where they can be play with a transformed heavily on a daily basis.

Draw the line when G1 Animation cartoon accurate toys cause compromises on the toys. Like making them more fragile, Skinny, Statues. Not designed to be heavily played with as their more works of art less action figure play toys. This is what MP-05, MP-09 and the MP seekers toys are.

I think you being a little unfair there Mr T, sure MP-05 and MP-09's faults are well documented but I have the revised MP Starscream and tabbing issues aside he is very sturdy, ditto for Grimlock, Soundwave and the car bots.

Some advice.

If the only problem with DX9 Rodimus Prime. Is That it looks more like a CHUG toy and less like a MP toy. Then buy the toy and consider it a CHUG styled Leader class toy.

Just think it would be a shame for anyone to pass up on buying this toy. As it galaxies better than any TF toy HasTak can ever hope to create for their G1 Update CHUG and MP TF toy lines.

Was referring to putting DX9 Rodimus Prime with the other CHUG Leader class toys. Think HasTak has about 10 Leader class new and repurposed CHUG Character toys planned.

Noticed most CHUG Leader class toys are around Nine inches tall in robot mode. While DX9 Rodimus Prime is 9.6 inches tall in robot mode. Don't think Half of a inch is a big deal.

If half of a inch is a big deal for some. Then there are options. Like 3rd parties creating height boots for CHUG Leader class toys. Or using legos or kreos to build your own height shoes for some CHUG leader class toys.

If anyone is looking for a CHUG toy to display evenly with DX9 Rodimus Prime. Then the answer is the Energon Galvatron leader class toy. While it may be a Energon toy, Some fans use it as a CHUG toy.

Just got done measuring the Energon Galvatron leader class robot toy. With the legs pushed together, The robot height is 9.5. This 9.5 is the same Robot height that DX9 Rodimus Prime is.

About a hour ago, went to a site and preordered DX9 Rodimus Prime.

:-? If the big issue for some is. That DX9 Rodimus Prime 9.5, is a half of a inch taller than the CHUG Leader class toys. Then a simple fix with no added parts is. To have DX9 Rodimus Prime with a wide leg stance pose, This will give the robot mode a 9 inch height robot mode. Which should display evenly with CHUG Leader class toys that are 9 inches tall with a tight together leg stance pose. ;)

I like the aesthetic on this figure. I am a little concerned about the use of two different figures to demonstrate the scale of this figure in robot and alt modes...

So 'bot mode scales well with MP-10 and vehicle mode scales well with iGears Faith Leader? Seems a little shady...

That being said his 'bot mode looks good, the spoiler wings panel-forming from the trailer...meh. But they do look a bit massive for him.

I know someone said that he there is enough mass to form the trailer...but let's not forget Transistor who bulks out to a nice sice boom box and is pretty much the same dimensions as Soundwave in bot mode.

I have to say I am with the folks who don't think this should/could replace MP-09/Hasbro Hot Rodimus mold. He looks spot on cartoon wise.

This guy is looking like he's leaning towards a more IDWish design.

Awesome execution, but i agree with other that it doesnt match the MP aesthetic quite right. The wings are too big (if only they folded in/up a bit) and I'm assuming the backside of the wings are covered in trailer flames and not solid yellow...

Yep, if this was to scale with TW Orion I might not have been able to resist, but I am far more picky when it comes to MPs.

I don't recall off the top of my head. Was Faith Leader reduced in size significantly from MP-01? That could reduce the size of this a bit...

So, definitely not significant enough to bring this down to voyager-ish size. Thanks! :D
