Truly this is an awesome game.

I spent the weekend at my cousins bleeding out of my retinas playing it. So I decide not to be a cheap arse and I go purchase it. And of course, what do I get for my troubles, the thing crashes during the opening movie sequence, I tried a few of the online tricks, and I managed to make it to the "birthday party".

Honest to prime beef. Don't glitches like a full scale crash just rip the crotch right out of your undies? I'd like to think it can't be my three month old computer that is gruntier than a 2 dollar woman of the night with questionable standards.

Anyway, my adventures in trying to fix this aside, isn't this just a spectacular game? I love the rag doll effect of corpses.

I mean, its just such a cool game I'm not going to apologise if there's already a topic about it. :D
Something memorable here.

What system are you playing it on? If you're on the 360, try installing it. That seems to help with quite a few glitches on that system.

That being said, it doesn't always fix the problem. I always install my games and the system still freezes sometimes.

Negare mentioned a computer so It's a good bet that's the console of choice.

No arguments about the game. Truly one of my all-time favorites. Despite the flaws, it handled immersion so fully that you'd lose all track of reality. Like most people, I took 2 separate characters through the wasteland. My first was a male good guy and was played 'honestly' (meaning no hints or maps). Guy was a perfect saint and this was the character I took through the expansions. My second was a female evil character and was played with full 3rd party support (all strategy guides, maps, but no codes). This character burned everything to the ground.

Ironically, the good guy ruined Vault 101 whereas the evil one became its savior. Guess home is the one place where things aren't always the same.

Sorry man, for some reason I totally missed the computer part. Don't give up though, Fallout 3 has to be one of the best games in recent history.

One of the two best RPG games I've played and one of the best games of all-time. I recently reinvigorated by fondness for the Wasteland since I bought Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta recently. Now if only there wasn't any level cap...

Still, Fallout 3 is awesomeness, and Fallout: New Vegas looks like it's awesomeness, too

I've been playing this and Oblivion on PC for the past couple weeks (I go through phases). The games are good vanilla, but honestly, after you've had some fun with it, go look up some mods.

Get ready to hate me in 3...2...1...

I didn't care for it. There's a lot I hated about it, such as how it was a pain in the ass getting from point A to point B, and that those points were usually very far apart and forced you to wade though points C, D, and E.

The scenery was top-notch, though. Bethesda can do beautiful scenery like no other. I don't think I've ever stared at an in-game for as long as I did in Morrowind and Oblivion.

But yeah, I am one of, if not the ONLY person who didn't like Fallout 3.

I would give this game a 10/10 if it weren't for one thing. Just one thing.

Diagonal running animations. I know the game was built for 1st Person mainly, but I much prefer 3rd person and they kind of shafted those of us who prefer to play that way.

Oh and the voice acting. More actors would've neatly hidden the mediocre acting. Maybe.

And what is it with RPGs not giving our character's voices? Dammit I wanna hear my creation talk!

Bioware solved that problem very nicely in Mass Effect. You have a list of options giving the gist of what you can say, and the character will fully voice what you said.

Another thing I liked in Fallout, the Robot Butler who tells jokes. "Photons have mass? I didn't know they were Catholic."

Well I'm a PS3 user, and all we got was Dragon Age, where they ditched that feature, sadly. It would honestly have made the game amazing.
