Meanwhile I recently broke a couple of Bruticus's fingers. Although I don't want to have to buy an entirely new Munitioner just to fix that. I've emailed Fansproject but no word back yet.

BBTS got back to me and confirmed that these pre-orders are for the old versions. They said the new decos would be put up later on. They defended their double price hike as being fair. I sent a reply back asking what would be the price of the new decos and if all future Fansproject scout size releases will start at $99.99. Lets see what they say...

I suppose their (FP's) excuse for jacking up the price compared to other 'deluxes' would be the combiner kibble. There's a lot more plastic on those boxes than just the figures themselves when compared to FP's not-secticons and such.
Still, my fingers are crossed hoping that the new deco versions go for a more reasonable price.

BBTS has the new ones up for preorder.
129.99$ for both, not terrible.

Re: Fansproject Munitioner/Explorer Recolors
Damn, I wish they sold the separately
. I have to buy 2 sets to do what I want to do with them (I need 2 of the forearm assemblies that go on Vortex).
Oh well, it's still cheaper than the $300 I would have paid for buying 2 of one of the original colored ones and 1 of the other. Sadly, only about $40 cheaper though.
Oh well, I'm sure I'll find a use for all those extra bots and bits of combiner kibble in other customs.

The inflation sucks (dollar vs yen is different than a few years ago, this might be a more limited release), but I bit the bullet on these two (and the Bruticus set). Now I've just got to keep telling myself I don't need the Takara release of the FoC Bruticus... = (

Thanks for the moral support! I just received and opened my Hasbro Bruticus this week, and wasn't too impressed with the design of the individual bot modes. I went to try out the gestalt mode and have been having fun trying to get nice poses with it. While far from perfect, this Bruticus can look pretty damn aggressive. So thinking about a more G1-inspired color scheme at less than the going SDCC version is really tempting.
On topic, Munitioner/Explorer are really fun molds, so I don't mind having multiples of them. I had a 2nd set of the initial release that was going to stay in alt mode with the rest of the Combaticons because I really liked the Onslaught trailer with Explorer, but eventually traded it before I got to that point.

Re: Fansproject Munitioner/Explorer Recolors
BBTS listed more of the preorders for the individual original deco versions for $99 so I cancelled one of my 2 new sets. So now I'm only shelling out $230+S&H. Not bad

Anyone who might prefer TFSource, they have preorders up now, too. Same price as BBTS, but I personally like the free shipping over $150, which shouldn't be a problem if you also need to order a Bruticus to go with it!

TFSource is now also offering a $20 savings if one orders both the Crossfire set and the Asia Exclusive Bruticus together. I know $20 ain't much, but hey, between that and the free shipping I'll take what savings I can get.

$240 for a complete Fansproject Bruticus with free shipping is probably the cheapest you'll be able to get it anywhere, so no complaints.

yeah, that pushed me over the edge on these. it cuts down the shipping cost by about half. so now I'm getting the whole thing for about the current price of the original 2 FP toys. I think I like the colours on Blast Off better. I like how Swindle has more paint apps and the chest looks much nicer, just a shame that this one looks more orange than yellow, whereas the first one was more green than I'd have liked. When the specific shade of it is all I can find to complain about though, it's a good sign.
for the Asia exclusive Bruticus, I don't see any difference between the Brawl toy compared to the ROTF (or was it DOTM?) set. Vortex and Onslaught are more to my liking though. Since I won't be using the other tank or copter, it would have been cool to get them coloured crazy like the original Energon releases. I have a real soft spot for the Stormcloud deco of the chopper. As is, I guess I'll have them as generics. They can hang out with the white Explorer repaint I got cheap a while back.

I'm guessing it will be included with the set, make it more than just a repaint. The hands are fitted with special grooves to hold the rifles and knife, I imagine shockwave will have the same molding
