I leave the thread for a few pages and somehow it hasn't moved any further forward.
X, why are you even in this thread? You have done nothing but complain about something you have repeatedly said you will not buy. Then you nitpick every little point until you get to "I hate it just because". What you think is not a fact no more than what I think is. It's all subjected options. The photo response is ridiculous and goes to prove nothing. And was that Hulk Hogan comment a slam on sexual orientation? Are you really willing to go so low? This thread would be 20 pages shorter without you complaining and nitpicking and people feeling the need to respond to it. And yes, I know I'm doing it right now. Irony, blah blah...
Okay, anyone else want particular comparison pics of the notStunticons?

First of all I own these figures paid in full. They should be arriving at my doorstop on Tuesday. I think that qualifies me to speak about them, even if it's only from other buyers comparison shots.
Second, when a guy changes my quote and labels it "Fixed", where were you to crucify that low blow ? I decided to do a little "fixing" myself.
Im not the only one on here who doesnt like the small size, Dead End's robot mode, Drag Strip's head, etc. So please stop treating me like I am.

I think I've clearly established that I'm not a fan of the size of these guys, but, the only stopping me from ordering is that I don't know how much MM is going to cost. The only thing I don't like about them aesthetically is Dead End's feet though.Rated X wrote:First of all I own these figures paid in full. They should be arriving at my doorstop on Tuesday. Changing someones post and calling it "fixed" is kinda rude...
It's not unfair to claim that FP dropped the ball on these guys when talking about size. They shouldn't have been part of this line (whatever it is) just because some other figures that combined with some old Hasbro toys were part of it. As much as I hate the Giant toys their robot sizes are fairly good, no reason why FP couldn't have made these guys a little bigger with a minimal increase to Menasors height.

I've had enough of this. Look back at the past few pages of this thread and realize just how irrational the discussion has become. This is a big turn off for regular members trying to access new updates on these figures and this is even more aggravating for someone like myself and others who see every discussion in this forum and have to intake the same fallacy filled argument being tossed around everywhere. The 3P industry is making huge breakthroughs, there is no need for us go off tangent into arguments focusing on such a fickle aspect of a toy that is still freaking amazing.
This thread is getting a lock until Easter Monday. I think you all need a break.

Yep the last few pages are redundant i think we all got a little bored of no new up dates and got stuck in a rut needing something to talk about on this thread.
There should have been a more photos of prototypes of the other two limbs at least to keep us ticking over, so when do you think DE and DS will be up for pre order since the first two came pretty much together.

I ordered from Captured Prey and they kinda got screwed with their shipments. Still, I'm patient. I just have to ponder over whether I should put these guys in my display now or wait until the set's complete. Decisions, decisions ...

Re: FansProject not-Stunticons
more I think about it the more I'll have to pass on these I think.
The first two had me all on board, but I'm glad they showed the other two limbs before I pre-ordered. I'd expected them all in the same style, but it looks like Breakdown and Wildrider were designed to be updated versions of the G1 designs whilst Drag Strip and Dead End were designed with the idea of updating the designs to fit more with modern era reworkings like the Classics/Generations/etc line.
I'm not overly against that kind of updating. I own a few figures, both from Hasbro and 3rd Parties where older designs are thrown out to adjust characters to newer alt-modes or change their robot forms up a bit. I just don't think it works here for these 2 characters, especially when paired with the other two's robot forms looking so G1-y.
The leaked pic of Menasor didn't wow me, but it didn't really put me off. What's really bugged me is the lack of updates. Okay, I pre-ordered Code blind, because of rumours it was FP's Chromedome, and I'm not disappointed. Yes, it was the start of a new FP line and part of me now feels somewhat compelled to get more of the FP Headmasters, but these are different. I can skip a single Headmaster if I like, but the Stunticons are really buying a set of 5 bots, and I'm pretty disappointed that FP hasn't officially shown us much of the set prior to the first ones going on sale.
They're not the only 3rd party guilty of this, but with so much competition for my money nowadays I'm not keen on throwing down the price of 5 figures when I've only really seen 2 of them properly, a couple of pics of 2 more in varying stages of clarity and very little of the last one or the gestalt form. Right now I'm willing to take the gamble that it'll either be an amazing set and FP will reissue it at some point, or that it'll win me over enough for me to justify paying the huge mark-up that FP stuff gets once it's officially sold-out, because right now, it's not for me.
I'll say this though, the size and colours of the toys look fine to me, and being FP I'm fairly certain they'll be decent quality and worth the money to those wanting them. Right now though, I'm just hoping they get those Explorer/Munitioner repaint sets out ASAP.

Even if you don't display these you should open them and inspect them. I've learned the hard way from the Herc set when I left my first two bots sealed before the rest came. when I open heavy labor it was missing a ratchet joint in its torso. I think for third party toys one must always open them right away and have a look at it. (unless you plan to never open it or something)
Looking for:

Edit: Larger photos. Photobucket is a pain in the ass, lol. On the figure, there's no secret I personally feel it's just lacking the size needed. I've kinda been spoiled by CHMS Breakdown. Otherwise the figure itself is good looking. But there is nothing fun about transforming it. The tabs are very tight so make sure you grow fingernails. I just cut mine a few days ago so transforming it hurt like hell. When getting him back to robot mode, unfolding the feet is very scary. I think there is a technique to doing it but I have not mastered it. I don't regret getting him, but if you're looking for more bang for your buck, this is not the figure for you. I didn't have time to open T-bone last night. Too tired. But I went to bed wondering how tall Motormaster will tower over his troops unless the trailer detaches to become a base or something. But that wouldn't be very G1, in my opinion. Energon Onslaught (Barricade) would be a good size for Motormaster's robot mode to scale with the others, but he was just a cab. I don't see how they FP can pull this off and still give him that G1 goodness transformation wise. I'm trying to stay hopeful, but loosing faith. Well just have to wait and see. Im more excited about Uranus and Feral Rex.

Re: FansProject not-Stunticons
I like how well they color matched the official Brakedown scout figure.
Just got my Car Crash from Captured Prey in the other day. Didn't have too much time to mess with him, but he is neat. A little difficult to transform and, yeah, he is really small for what you get. Still, he's a really innovative and posable figure. The feet are a bit overly difficult if you ask me.
Still, I am excited for the completed whole of Mesasor. If Motormaster winds up being the exact same price as the limbs I will definitely eat my words regarding price.

he won't. he definitely won't.
It's funny that the animated exclusive is the only one that managed to get the colour right. Wait, not funny, the other thing. Sad.
I still think the first two look good, and the completed Menasor has potential, but there's too much other product vying for my money.

When the preorders for the first two were going up, being released two months in a row, with placeholders ready to go on BBTS for the next two, I was hoping for a rapid fire BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG release with maybe a few month off before Motormaster, giving us Menasor by the end of the summer but that's blown now.

Got mine today. Love the look of them, only complaint is that they are very "clicky" when trying to get them into car mode. Lots of spots where I feel terrified that I'm going to break something. I look forward to the rest of the team, though I don't actually mind if they take a while to be released. Gives me a chance to direct some money at another project or two coming down the pipe.

Looking good. Hope this means they're close to getting the preorders and shipping sent out. In any case this means we're a step closer to getting Motormaster revealed.
Gotta say though, I'm not crazy about Dragstrips tiptoes. They look kinda odd. No matter, still a good looking figure outside of that.

These look good to me. Not a G1 purist with the Stunicons, so I'm fine wih the design changes. Although I would not say no to a fourth party add on set for new hears.

'atripper's bot mode lots okay now that I see more of it. Toes are a bit funky, but feet have never been his/her strong point. Dead End's car is all nice and shiny. I do like. More pics, Motormaster and Menasor and pricing and I could yet be swayed.

Yeah that's a decent car mode for Dead End, but I'm really not feeling Drag Strip. I might not end up getting this combiner. All depends on how good Motormaster looks.

I find it odd that we keep seeing the limb members, but not Motormaster.
We saw the protos of all four limbs, then we saw them in color. Then we saw new/production run level pics of them. Motormaster has been seen in styrene (I assume that's the white plastic used in the one pic), and an all black proto, plus a silhouette.
We've yet to see even a handpainted version of him. I just have to wonder what the hold up is.
It's either that this task turned out to be much more difficult than they expected, or his price is going up and the cars being more expensive didn't help, OR...to keep costs reasonable, they're finding ways to cut corners without going too far.
I know all of that sounds ominous, and rightfully so. FP's communications department (non existent) needs work.
