I'm not coming back for a while

I walked in to wake my mom up this morning, and found her there, dead.

I'm leaving. I don't know when i'll be back. Just know that i'll be around. I just don't know what to do now. This sort of thing has never happened to me before. I've never felt so numb and depressed. It feels like a part of me is gone, but I can't believe it. I just cant believe it.

I was going to reply all snarky to the title, but then I read the post.

Really sorry to hear that, it has never happened to me either, and I wouldn't know what to do in a situation like it.

If you feel the need for help, don't underestimate counsellors (are they free in the US as they are for students in the UK?). Just don't do anything rash or too impulsive.

Take a break, and think about family for now.

Thing is, don't stay away too long. You've got a few mates on this site who will probably worry about you, plus you have people to talk through who have probably been through what you now have to deal with.

Damn dude, I'm truly sorry. I hope you'll be ok. Take as much time as you need and don't be afraid to talk to people, be it counselors, friends, other family members, or just hit up some buddies here on the site.
