Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

I have one VF-25R, and a VF-27. Scale wise they are un-officially 1/60th. They look right at home with the Yamato 1/60s. Bandai will be re-releasing their VF-25s in the fall with all the improvements from the 27, and 29 toys. I might have to pick up an Ozma Lee VF-25S armor version!

So are those the regular releases or the VF100's? I believe the VF100's are 1/100 scale and fit in with the Toynami's stuff?
Also where is a good place to pick these up now and days? I use to always get them from BBTS or Ebay.
And I love all of the improvements they do on the figures. I got the first release of the YF-19, VF-0S and SV-51r and in pure Yamato style, they all have some issues that they fix in a rerelease. The YF-19 wasn't too bad, the VF-0 has some loose limb issues but the SV-51r had terrible floppy wings.

I have the regular released Chogokin DX ones.
No experience with the VF100s, but I think you are correct in assuming they are 1/100.
I usually get my Macross swag from angolz.com. They are based in Hong Kong, but have good shipping rates, and an impressive selection. I think they are mostly sold out of VF-25s though. You might find some Tornado variants still though.

So what is your opinion of the quality of the Chogokin's?

Overall they are quite nice, and would recommend them if the impending release of the 2nd versions wasn't just around the corner.
Many people have had concerns and issues over the quality of them, but I haven't had one QC issue after owning them for close to two years. None of my paint applications have scratched off during transformation, and every joint is tight and in one piece.
Design wise, they could have used a little bit more work. Robot and fighter mode are both great, but the gerwalk is pretty bad, if not useless. The 27 is better than the 25 in this mode, but nowhere near as nice as the Yamatos.
For the first scale toys of the Frontier valks, I'd say they did a very good job. The second releases of them should tidy up all the issues. Clearly Bandai learned a lot with the 27 and 29.
EDIT: Actually, I had one QC issue with the VF25R when the panel on the robots calf popped off during the first transformation. Nothing broken, just a missed dot of glue. A very easy fix with a tube of CA glue.

Yea I hear you have to remove a lot of parts between transformations, it kind of seems like whats the point of that? Especially for the asking price on them.
So what is everyone's fav Valk type? I still have to say the YF/VF-19 is my favorite.

Do you remember mine? Here's a hint there's a group shot in the old thread. Can we reopen it?

Oh I forgot to mention something. We just had a really successful comic convention here in Albuquerque a few weeks ago called ACE (looks like they are going to make it annual), but anyways they had a Robotech panel. Tommy Yune did it and he was the director for Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles. He showed us that they are working on a second Shadow Chronicle as well as something new altogether. He also confirmed that the Robotech Live Action Movie is still alive and in the works.
