I'd be more intrigued if the "concept art" wasn't from the DS WFC game and the silhouette didn't use UM's right arm and left leg from that same concept art to illustrate the point.

... but dammit I love these types of armors.

Seriously ... add-ons are a market Hasbro could really capitalise on. Give kids a chance to customise their TF's and collectors the figures they really want. Like this one!

I just saw this. I think this is a great idea. FOC Magnus needs to be bigger. It will also be nice to have his shoulder missiles on there too. I don't buy much third party stuff, but this might warrant a purchase.

Agreed. I actually don't buy any third party stuff, but as long as this isn't too expensive I think I'll make an exception here! I'm really excited to see some actual photos of this armor set.

Color me skeptical. If the teaser image wasn't made of lifted artwork, and if I was sure exactly who it was who's supposed to be making this, I'd be more convinced that it'll happen at all. Having said that, I'd love to have something like this; I've missed out on all of the previous armor upgrades for the other versions of Ultra Magnus.

I have Magnus in my hands right now. He's actually pretty awesome, though his blue is very cobalt-blue. As cool as he is though, I'd get an upgrade. If they could incorporate the parts into a trailer, that would be perfect.

Has anyone heard any news on this? I hope this actually is made, because Magnus is ok, but needs to be a lot bigger, I'd say voyager size to fit in with all the other WFC/FOC figures.

Man this just made my day!! Just in time too.
Im at the point where Its getting depressing looking at all the awesome third party stuff and not being able to talk myself into spending loads of cash on them.
This time though aia wont have to dump 300 dollars on a base figure!
I had thought that it would be great to have an add on armor for magnus as soon as I saw his size, but dismissed the idea thinking that city commander was done so perfect that noone else would make another.
I hope so badly that this is done!! Maybe if it sells well (and it will) they will bring out an upgrade armor for the new prime as well. :grin:

This is a necro thread unfortunately. There's been no updates on this in quite sometime but I am really hoping that they follow through with this set. It would be awesome.

Oh no!! A necro thread? necro, meaning necrotic, meaning old?.... It seems any time I get my hopes up that I will finally get something from this line that I love without spending massive amounts of cash and time, I am disappointed.
Not a good way to run a line. I believe that if things dont soon change I will be forced to abandon this hobby as all the good feelings that It brought have been replaced with thoughts of "maybe next time" "thats unfortunate" "why?" or my least favorite "how much?!" sigh... Looks like I will have to shell out 300 for city commander after all...yay... :BANG_HEAD:

you could buy a new one, and the United Magnus, should be much less than $300. well, okay, not "much less" but enough to buy a deluxe and a happy meal or something.
