Fellow Seibertronian Powered Convoy pointed us in the direction of TFSource's newest preorders, MP-12G G2 Sideswipe & MP-14B Soundblaster with Rat Bat, and Curt over at TFSource provided us with official pictures soon after. Eh, Ratbat is the only one I want out of these. I don't see myself getting Soundblaster just for Ratbat: he just looks too similar to Soundwave, deco-wise. Perhaps if they did a separate pack that had more cassettes (like Slugfest or Overkill), then maybe I'd buy.

I like that it gives us the option between toy and comic G2 Sideswipe... if they go all comic, though, it "has" to come with G2's excessive amount of bullets as an accessory! lol

Disappointed, but expected, that Ratbat would be exclusive to Soundblaster. I think many of us want to add Ratbat (and many other tapes!) to our collection, but really don't care to have Soundblaster when we already have struggled so hard to get Soundwave.

that Ratbat looks sweet. apparently Soundwave is making appearances in TRU UK (got an email saying it was in stock), but I can't afford it just now.. hope it's still there when I can.. and yeah hoping more cassettes come out and there's a nice pack including Ratbat in the future

If I had the budget for Masterpieces, I would get this. It's a great mold, and it looks BAD-ASS in black and silver. I would love to have him and SW displayed side-by-side. Ratbat's just the icing on the cake.

And Beastbox & Squawktalk as well. If SW got 5 cassettes, so should SB.

Ratbat looks awesome and I'm glad to see they used purple on SoundBlaster rather than red. I always preferred the purple just like the Music Label version.

As awesome as that would be, I'd settle for the Stateside release with JUST Ratbat, Slugfest, and Overkill if it meant it would be a bit cheaper than the tag Soundwave was sporting.

I'm probably being too optimistic here, but maybe TRU will look at the popularity of MP Soundwave (surely SOMEONE at corporate has noticed that this $125 item is flying off the shelves faster than they can stock it), and say "Hey, let's talk to Hasbro about doing the other cassettes. If everyone who bought SW buys the cassettes, it's more easy money for us!"

I'll come right out and say, when Takara f@#&ed up MP Lambor's face, I deliberately bought the more accurate KO for just over $50, got him in the mail 2 days ago, and couldn't be happier. But for an official MP G2 firestormin' 'Swipe with spikey shoulders, machete, and EXTREME '90s machine guns, I will pay any official price! Could it be that the evil-squinting face on regular MP-12 was actually intended for this version?

As for a hypothetical Hasbro MP Ratbat, the character is iconic entirely because of his Marvel U.S. appearances (well, fans who haven't hit the books still like him too, so maybe it's 95%), so I think we all know what color Soundwave repaint he should come packaged with: PURPLE! Glorious Decepticon purple, all over! The color that allowed him to survive an Underblast from Starscream when even Omega Supreme was felled!

But will I buy Soundblaster to get him if that doesn't happen? Well, Soundwave's cartoon persona was my favorite at age 5, so I do want an MP with with red optics, so the fact that it looks too similar to the first Soundwave that I haven't been able to afford just yet is actually a plus in my book.

That's a pretty good idea. I would actually prefer the Marvel purple to the Soundblaster black which is just too close to his normal dark blue.

An ideal situation would be to remold his face so that he has a mouth instead of the mouthplate like he was seen sporting in various issues of Marvel.

Nice nice nice, that g2 sideswipe looks nice. The red on the front in car mood is nice. I just preordered him. And I'm thinking about getting him instead of mp-Bluestreak. They are both black and red figures but g2 is out shinning plain looking bluestreak rite now. Plus sideswipe is a lamb, you can never have to many lambs and I rather have three lambs over having three nissans.
