My 2 original characters; Strayt Jacket and Black Jakq.

Strayt Jacket is a minimal repaint of Beast Hunters Bumblebee, and Black Jakq is a repaint/mod of Prid Bumblebee.

A brother and sister combo. Strayt Jacket is an insane psychopath riddled with an intelligent mind and charismatic charm (think Antony Hopkins' Hannibal Lector) No doctor or psychiatrist was willing to truly help or understand him, and he was simply put away in an institution. His sister, Black Jakq, enraged at the incompetence and lack of caring from the Autobot medics, took it upon herself to study medicine and psychiatry and become a doctor herself, for the sole purpose of helping her brother live his life. She is now his personal Psychiatrist, and is always by his side.

However sometimes one has to wonder who is more crazy, the doctor or the patient…
They are also quite partial to playing card games together.




Strayt Jacket.
Based on the yellow Jacket, because I always considered wasps to be mean bumblebees His name is a play on straight jacket and of course yellow jacket. Not too many differences here, a few painted details and I keep the missiles on the doors flipped upside down, as they can then be positioned like machine guns over his shoulders.



Black Jakq.
Based on the black faced hornet, her design was inspired by Kamen Rider (her eyes and gold/black accents were inspired by the zectroopers of Kamen Rider Kabuto) Her name is also a nod to the famous Manga/anime Doctor, Black Jack, as well as a play on the sentai team JAQK (jack, ace, queen, king).
She carries a small magnum style gun, her preference over large weaponry, since nothing instills psychological fear better than a gun to your head at point blank.


The small segments of the large Decepticon sticker do peel at the edges a little in places, I'm currently going to fix that.

Gorgeous work. I'd have purchased a Black Jacq instantly. Your characterization drew me in further, but the paint job is really interesting and would have blended in nicely with the rest of the Prime cons.

The multitude of uses from this mold is quite saddening when they are all just still Bumblebee.
The colours ultimately came from my initial thought of creating Bug Bite, as I had this spare Bumblebee and figured it best not to waste him, but couldn't think of anything else even though that idea felt too easy and too boring. This idea came up once I decided on using BH Bee as Strayt, since I have always liked the term 'yellow jacket' and have been wanting to find a use for the concept for a while.

I love the paintwork on the white one. Was Botcon Bugbite your inspiration ?

Yes, he was I forgot to put that in the info, probably need to update. This project started life as me wanting to make use of an extra Bumblebee, since he was no longer useful for what I had originally intended. My only real idea for a re-paint to go alongside Strayt was Bugbite, but it felt too easy. I developed this character instead but still built around Bug's initial colours, since I liked them.
