Optimal Optimus was a figure I find myself lucky to have gotten. A friend of my brother, upon hearing I was collecting Transformers again, simply gave it to me as well as an incomplete Tigerhawk and a slightly damaged TM2 Dinobot. My BW Collection kinda grew around those figures with OpOp at the center.
Great choice! Looking forward to the next entry.

Alright, sorry for another skip of a day, but my finals are finally over! That means I'll be posting more entries per day than the Detroit Lions D lets in Touchdowns. Let's kick it...
#16 - Armada Jetfire
Okay, I promise you this is the last WTF entry you'll see on this list. This is totally bias to the core. I think Transformers Armada is the bestest toy line ever, and you're just going to have to live with it.

Jetfire. It's a beauty. A spaceship beauty. I can't go on with saying that this is the only spaceship Transformer, but it's probably the best. The sounds on Armada Jetfire are classics. You get a 'pew-pew' when you click it forward, and a countdown when you click it backwards.

The storage thing is a bit odd. I didn't even realize it had one, but I'm guessing you can augment the arms to make it so. (And I've had the figure since it came out. I'm such a slow Blurrz) I really like the interaction between Comettor and Jetfire. Makes the mini-con actually belong to Jetfire, than just some random addition.

Robot mode is a piece of beauty. It's just a menacing Ultra class figure. And come on, how can you not love the BMFG... It's just so Big! The one thing that's not pictured is the fact that Jetfiree can hold the Star Saber and the Skyboom shield - something that most figures in this line fail to do. A lot of people say he doesn't have good articulation or possibility. It's hard for me to justify it with words, but it's just a fun figure and nostalgic for me to not care about that.

Combined mode is a bit chunky for me. But that's Armada. And the combination with Optimus Prime and Armada is just menacing badass.

Repaints. Powerlinx Jetfire didnt really do much for me, but Astrotrain is pure beauty and a must-have.

So all in all..... No University has not fried my brain into ****, I think Armada Jetfire is one of the best figures out there. Shows that Ultra class figures don't always have to be the complete package to be good. The sense of a 'good' and 'bad' figure should never be designated just because the figure lacks 'decent' articulation. Transformers are meant to transform, not to compete with articulation of Gi Joe figures.

What does Jetfire do for the Transformers fandom? Well he's chalked up as one of the fan favourites. His name has some pretty good longevity in Transformers toylines. A/E/C Jetfire has some pretty solid figures all around, but the reason Armada got in is totally because it's a spaceship... not because of the Armada bias....
And that's game. Don't worry... there's only one other Armada figure on this list.

I do like Armada Jetfire, despite his stumpy-ass robot mode. I think it's the whole "Behold! My JetPants" thing he and Prime have going on.

I agree.
I tell you though, I found Armada Jetfire early when he came out.
I was broke, buying mostly ramen noodles for subsistance. I hid that Armada Jetfire in a local WalMart for the better part of a week until financial aid came in.
Also? spending $26 on a Transformer was ridiculous at that time! $26...unbelievable...

Jetfire was one of my very first Armada buys. And he is fantastic. I just love how he transforms, and how he looks in both modes. He's an awesome figure yes he is.
And the fact that he has a "holster" for his gun when he's combined with Prime is a great little feature.
Sadly my Comettor broke, so now Jetfire no longer has landing gear. Still he's a great figure.

I'm really liking this list. Lost of unconventional transformers. I had a feeling that it would end up being nothing but Gee Wun swooning, but the fact that you actually have Beast Wars AND Armada toys on this list makes me look forward to every entry every day. Keep up the good work and thanks for not letting this turn into a "ZOMG! G1 is teh roxx!!" festival.

Alright, flight came in a bit late locally, so I couldn't do an entry last night... Moving along.
#15 - Superlink Galvatron
Wo.. out of all the Megatrons I chose, this is Number Uno of all of them! Why do you ask? Well, in all honesty the other Megatrons just lack it. You look at Energon Megatron and you look at a figure that isn't trying too hard, and still gets the job done in terms of playability. The rest of the Megatrons we've had in the past few decades just plain suck. Energon is one of the only toy lines where Megatron's toy beats Optimus' hands down. And don't count Armada because a wet paper bag could beat Armada Optimus. Now to the toy. I could start with Energon Megatron... but I'll go to the grand daddy of them all - Superlink Galvatron .

I really don't know if you're into the whole ethics thing, where Megatron just has to be a gun/Galvatron has to be a tank. Well f* that because just look at it.. Takara takes this mold and beautifies it. It really looks like the Galvatron we saw back in the 80's.

Comparing it to the others.. you see the superiority.

Robot Mode. Yes, he has a tank as an arm. But who cares? Sexy translucent plastic unique to Transformers Energon, and topped off with beautiful colors. The figure has an arsenal to itself, and I cannot say enough of the sword arm articulation!

I could talk about Superlink Galvatron's predecessors, but that would be a waste of time. Get Takara's Galvatron.. it's worth the money.

What does the mold do for the history of Transformers toys? It gives hope that Megatron can actually have a half decent toy! Also, A/E/C means a lot for me. Personally I hate the crappy breakable, skinny plastic thats' been in use for the movie, classics 2.0 and animated toy lines. A/E/C has blocky plastic, and that's what toys are meant to have. They're meant to be durable, not to be broken out of the package. It's one of the reasons that people use to explain why they don't collect the new stuff.
